Salt in the Wound: Destruction of the Arena

831783ba0ce34bd5aea083a2bfa63233.jpg

Delos Thek is the only city on Ziost close to “normal.” The smaller city is closer to a traditional undercity, full of vices and ways to satisfy them. A band of Jedi have been smuggled to the surface through Delos Thek. Blend in with the locals and find passage to The Arena. The massive construct was the Brotherhood’s greatest cultural symbol beside the Citadel. The fighters in the Arena are legendary. Rip out the spiritual heart of Ziost. Once passage to the Arena is secured, arrive and destroy the barbaric structure. Use whatever methods are necessary but an explosive end would be fitting for the Arena. The destruction of the Arena will be a massive blow to the moral of planet and a critical step in fall of Ziost.

OOC Note: Skirmish PVP: NPCs are for flavor only. Please allow defense to post first, they have 72 hours.

"So, it begins..." The Taz'Goreii Sith Sorcerer muttered to himself, with anyone near by him able to hear it. The Jedi are now battling for control of the Ziost sector. Xaxis'Kahal is standing just outside the main entrance to the arena, wearing his normal sith robes over his armor. The Sith robes are cut short enough as to not restrict any movement. He has a lightsaber stowed away on his left hip as he is gripping his favoured Kyber Staff with his right hand as the bottom of the staff is firmly planted in the ground standing upwards.

With the planet under attack, the arena itself is empty. Normally there would be gladiators spilling blood in barbaric fights, but there are no fighters as they would be elsewhere, presumably fighting the Jedi at this very moment on other fronts. There's no staff, not a soul safe for the people charged with safeguarding the complex. Xaxis'Kahal's role in this is to make sure that the Arena is left intact as the building is of very pivotal to Ziost, as it a place that embodies the Sith teachings of the strong rising above the weak. That and it's historical significance for the former Sacred Band of Ziost. No doubt that the Jedi will not want this building left standing as they seek to take the planet.

The Dark Side of the force runs strong through Xaxis. It courses in his is veins and through his staff. If Jedi come, he will be ready, with his back facing towards the arena wall as he gazes towards the city Delos Thek. "Let them come..." he mutters to himself once again as he is prepared to fight.

kann was trapped on the planet with his strike group out of the system and the space battle blocking nearly all access to space it. he was firmly stuck on the surface, so he made himself useful as he is a skilled fighter and knows how to inspire and command men. so he assigned himself to defend Delos Thek more specifically the arena, he knew the area surrounding it and it was arenas like this where kann sharpened his skills and earned his fortune, fight man and beast like. so arena like these held some importance to him.

Kann stood beside the marauder in his Mandalorian medium armour adorned with the empires sigil on his chest his spear extended resting on his shoulder and the rest of his grear usal gear strapped to his belt as he lent againest the entrances wall. the marauder muttered something he didn't queit catch what he said grewing bored "i'm going to get a better vantage point to spot undiseribles" he says to the marauder starting up his jetpack and flying to the top of arena. The view of city wasn't great one, pretty much just slums but still he had better view of the battle going on above them though his were focused on the main road that led to the arena entrance

~ Theme Song ~

Emerald sat on a filthy mattress looking out of a second story window of what she assumed was suppose to be the Zoist version of a cantina. With the invasion going on in full force, the majority of the warriors were off busy preparing for the inevitable possibility of a ground assault. She was busy staring out towards the arena, they'd been given orders to see the building destroyed. A pity, she'd have given anything to test her skills against some of the finest the Sith Empire had to offer if given half the chance, but orders were orders and Emerald was actually looking forward to what was to come.

Along with her there were a small handful of Jedi, even on the transport to the system there was little conversation between them. Few words were left to be said when Jedi were going to be landing boots on the ground of Zoist. The world was steeped in darkness, Emerald could feel the temptaion of her beastial self calling to her, she though she'd left that behind on Hoth but it seemed she had been wrong. Fitting though, that it's be on another tundra world where she'd risk embracing what she'd once left behind in the ice half a galaxy away from here.

Luckily there didn't seem to be many people about, at least not in this part of the small city. Even still, the arena had its guardians. What most might have assumed to be a feeble old man, Emerald knew better, any sith that lived to their elder years was a force to be reckoned with. The Horansi smirked, perhaps the green skinned sith would prove more fun than the sith she'd faced on Urce during the Liberation of Ithor. Emerald had yet to meet a sith who'd proven a proper challenge though. The only time she'd ever lost to one was back on Belsavis, but he'd played a dirty trick rather than use skill with a blade or the Force. There was no honor to be hand in that.

The Horansi had her scars, she'd proven herself in battle, from the left side of her face, down her neck, and across her chest and back, including her left arm, her skin had been hideously scarred by the use of Firespray. Her fur had never grown back to any extent more than a few patches here or there. Emerald wore these, as well as many other scars, as badges of pride and as reminders. She wouldn't underestimate her opponents, she'd never give the sith less than they deserved. Death was all that awaited those that stood between her and her orders. The arena would fall.

As he and one of his comrades (Emerald) glared out towards the arena, Celtar glanced down and noticed that his hands were shaking. His mind had been preoccupied with the attack on Ziost and Valen had confiscated his alcohol in an attempt to improve his performance. For being a doctor, thought the Knight, he forgot that withdrawal from alcohol isn't supposed to happen right before a big fight. Luckily, Celtar had suggested that the group take a short break in a cantina and, sneaking off, managed to secure a flask or two of booze. The Knight's fingers trembled as they reached towards one of these flasks and, struggling to remove the lid, brought it to his mouth. After a hearty swig, enough to eliminate the shakes once it kicked in, Celtar replaced the flask and spoke to the group of Jedi arrayed around him. "It's time," he uttered simply. The Jedi had been paired up and he was to work with the Horansi. They all knew what they needed to do, it was just a matter of doing it.

He and his comrade, should she follow him, would make their way out of the cantina using a rear entrance. Celtar made sure to keep his aura pulled close, hoping to avoid detection. Using the town's buildings as cover and concealment, they would be able to move without having to worry about taking fire from the arena. As they began moving, Celtar noticed that his hands had become more steady. Either the alcohol had kicked in or his body had decided to prepare itself for the coming chaos. Regardless, Celtar kept his guard up the entire way, his SP-30 blaster pistol in a ready stance at all times. On his belt was his usual assortment of grenades and ammo, though he also had a lightsaber on each side of his body. His pistol holster was attached to his Modular Jedi Armor, complete with fireproof cloak, allowing him to be able to switch to his lightsabers without worrying about misplacing his weapon. His wide brimmed hat kept the sun out of his eyes as it sat on top of the cloak.

As they neared the rear of the arena, Celtar kept one hand on his lightsaber to ensure that he could more easily react if they made contact. Still, he moved cautiously, aiming to make it to the top of the arena. The Knight's more cautious movement sacrificed speed for the ability to react quickly to any threats and allowed him to make changes on the fly. If he were able to make it to the roof of the arena, he would seek cover behind a durable object and scan his area for any enemies.

But suddenly Xaxis with the all knowing power of the Darkside of the Force, then sensed a force signature close by, and getting closer. It was faint but still there. Curious Xaxis focused more into it with his keen senses and he could see it all too well, it was not of the darkside

He then informs Kann of such. "I sense a presence with the Force coming this way. Coming from the rear. Be ready" He said to Kann so that the Viper of Mandalore would re-position himself to account for this revelation. So Xaxis then ran around the arena as quickly as he could with the force, slowing down some the closer to the rear he got. The arena isn't that big around, so it didn't take too long. He immediately spots a suspicious cloaked figure leading some others to the arena 'moving cautiously'. Why? There are no souls in the arena. They have no business here. If they have no business here, Xaxis will get rid of them.

Wasting no time, at about 30 meters from the one Jedi (@Fyston). Xaxis with his Kyber Staff firmly in his right hand, extends his left arm and with the power of hate for the Jedi, he attempts to apply a firm telekinetic grip on the one leading them (@Fyston) by the neck and then attempting to crush it in the same motion. "DIE" Xaxis shouted. And he is sure that Kann is moving in himself so that he can assist.

kann paced back and forth across a small section of the arena he now stood above, twirling his spear in short quick flourishes as boredom began to set in his mind. The marauder shouted at him about something approaching them from the rear before taking off. kann reaction wasn't as rushed he only did a light jog from on top all.

kann say the group of Jedi but he wasn't about to engage them his green friend seemed to have the situation handled, knelt there he watched his friends back while he engage the leader of the Jedi, much like a bird of prey he waited for his opportunity to strike down from his ledge up high but for now he was interested in how the marauder would hold up against the Jedi, stepping in of course things got a bit dicey for his friend.

Emerald followed the other Jedi, the six of them moved in groups of two, Celtar leading and Emerald acting as the rearguard just so the others would have cover incase someone were to attack them. Celtar had arrived around back of the arena, even as Emerald was only about halfway there. The Horansi was kneeling behind what she could only guess was an old broken down landspeeder when she'd heard the Imperial's jetpack soar overhead as the, presumably, man rose to the top of the arena to gain the high ground. Emerald had to be quick before her fellow Jedi were spotted, but just as she heard the rushed footfalls of the green skinned sith an idea came into her mind.

Emerald abandoned her position as rearguard, instead making a beeline directly for the wraparound walkway of the arena, she didn't have to do much else than aim and pull the trigger, she'd dashed the fifteen or so meters between the edge of the building and the arena as fast as she could, and as a Horansi she was faster than most, there was no possible way for the sith to know what she was to do, at least none that she could see. The Jedi Knight would aim her heavy blaster, engaging the dual firing port, and then let off three pulls of the trigger aimed towards the (@Faster Than Light)sith's hip, lower back, and upper back respectively, totaling six particle bolts in all.

She could sense his use of the dark side, it's smell repugnant even as she sensed one of her own in danger. Luckily, if the sith was so focused on one of the other Jedi, he's have an even greater difficulty evading all six of her own particle shots.. Without waiting to see if her shots struck true, Emerald instead ducked into a barrel role and took cover behind a metal pillar of the arena's architecture just incase the Imperial (@christhebarker) had in fact seen her. No use shooting someone in the back if you got shot in the back in the process.

As Celtar and his accompanying Jedi moved towards the arena, Celtar laid eyes on a spear wielding man on the roof of the arena, though a nearby column and overhand provided some cover from above as he moved and obscuring their position from same. A number of thoughts raced through his mind when he felt the familiar surge of the Dark Side of the Force as it reached towards him from behind. The Knight spun around and began to dip into the calm that came only through years of battlefield experience. Celtar countered the attempted attack on his neck with his own energy, using it to protect his neck and ensure that he would be unhindered. As he dealt with the attack on his neck, Celtar noticed that his comrade was firing directly at the Orc looking Sith and, with a bored look on his face, peppered the air around the Orc with 10 blaster bolts fired so quickly as to give off the appearance of being a blaster carbine. If he were to leap in any direction or step to the side, he would take at least one bolt, or at least that was Celtar's intent. Stepping forward would be unwise, as well, given the trajectory of Emerald's bolts. Remarking on the fact that he was just told to die, Celtar chuckled as he began to speak. "It's your funeral."

Just after he began firing, he began to step backwards, keeping his guard up as he moved and scanning with the Force to ensure that the other would not catch him offguard. Celtar hoped to brace himself against one of the columns, ensuring that he was protected from any backup that the Orc may have had coming. Quickly moving his pistol to his left hand, Celtar grabbed his crossguard lightsaber and ignited it in a typical Form X defensive opening stance, allowing him to more easily respond to the Sith should he press the attack.

Blast. When Xaxis went to force choke in front of him he same time he heard the sound of blaster shots coming from behind him. It wasn't just the sound of one blaster shot being fired at the same time, it's the sound of two blaster shots being fired at the same time three times. Those abrupt sounds broke Xaxis' concentration, with the grip broken and no damage done. At the same, time the Jedi in front of Xaxis sprayed 10 blaster shots every which direction he could move Xaxis. Xaxis got fully on the ground just barely in time for those particle shots to fly overhead towards the Jedi. As for Celtar's shots, it appears that he meant to restrict Xaxis from going left, right, above, backwards or any combination, but he didn't think about the Taz'goreii dropping on the ground.

Normally, this might have been a very compromising position for Xaxis to be in, but he moved backwards after firing. And then drew a lightsaber. Xaxis got up to a crouching position with his kyber staff in his right hand touching the ground and gets back to his feet. With the Dark Side of the force still flowing through him due him not being about to exert as much force power as he wanted on the Jedi. The Jedi's lightsaber would be up by this point, Xaxis then starts running straight towards him.

Due to having flowed through his staff before the fight even began, he has some force power stored in it to be used. Xaxis has two hands gripping his staff in front of him as the kyber crystal mounted at the top of it points at a 3'o clock position with as much range to swing as possible, keeping his glowing red eyes on his enemy just in case he tries something. Once he gets inside staff range, he'd swing it horizontally from left to right. If the crystal of the staff comes near Celtar, Xaxis lets loose a concussive blast with it, a medium one that would for sure knock the Jedi off his feet.

kann indeed saw the cat make here move on his companion, firing wildly at him whilst in the middle of a run and taking cover further around the arena edge below him. he knew roughly where she had taken cover. he collapsed his spear putting it on his belt before drawing his blaster pistol and he jumped down from his position slowing his decent with his jetpack, he showered the area with 6 bolts from pistol to cover his decent. Upon reaching the ground he immediately took cover behind a pillar.

he calls out to her "here kitty, kitty, kitty." smiling blow his helmet as he does, he did like to taunt his opponents; he preferred his opponents off balance both emotionally and psychically. He plucked his SmackDown Grenade from his belt hoping that it will flush her out of her cover, prepping it he exposes part himself so he can get a good accurate underarm throw to bounce of the pillar behind her and land at her feet. he draws his sword reading himself for melee combat just in case she charges him with a lightsaber when forced out of cover.

Emerald was already moving to cover by the time the Imperial had made his descent, even as he started shooting suppressive towards her position the Horansi was easily able to evade getting shot. As the Imperial moved for cover behind his pillar, Emerald stood with her back against her own pillar. She saw as a grenade flew past her from the Imperial's direction, bounced off the pillar across from her and landed near her feet. The Jedi Knight was no fool, regardless of what type of grenade it was she didn't want it to go off anywhere near her so she kicked it into the street without letting it come to a rest at her feet. It clanked against the stone about a dozen meters until detonating harmlessly away from anyone else. It was shame she hadn't had more time to throw it back at the fool though.

Even if the Imperial was attempting to force her out of cover by way of the grenade, he hadn't needed to worry about that all that much, given their close proximity and her clear advantage in melee combat, Emerald simply let her rifle drop, swinging it behind her shoulder on its strap before drawing one of her lightsabers in her right hand and her electro whip in her left hand. She would rush him, she would give up her cover. Hell, she might just tackle him and physically bite his neck until it snapped, but for now Emerald would simply use her lightsaber to defend herself from any more blaster bolts he might try to send her way and her electrowhip to attack him. Few people, even among her fellow Jedi, knew how to defend themselves against such a weapon and even those that did were hardpressed to do so with any proclivity.

The nearly eight foot Jedi Knight would be able to cross the 12 meters quickly, though she had no need to do so, not in full. Her electrowhip totaled four of those meters. Using the Force to enhance her speed, the first four meters were crossed in the blink of an eye, the second four meters followed just as fast. She held her silver hued lightsaber in a defensive position diagonally across her torso as a 45 degree angle, her whip already swinging above her head. Once she made it within 3 meters of the Imperial, she'd swing the whip around the pillar in an attempt to pin him to the stone and metal, if he's already moved from cover she'd swing for him directly, attempting to disarm him of whatever weapon he wielded.

Celtar watched as his foe almost dove to the deck to avoid the barrage of fire and noted the bolts from his comrade's rifle embedding themselves harmlessly into the dirt far to the side of him, rendering them inert. The Sith was smart to avoid jumping but before his comrade could follow up with additional attacks, he noted the roof-mounted man moving into the fray. I guess it's him and I now, thought the Knight as the green creature began running straight towards him.

The Knight quickly holstered his pistol and pretended to fumble for his lightsaber but, instead, grabbed one of his Firespray canisters right as Xaxis was 10m away but keeping it hidden by his belt. Given that the man was running, he would be hard pressed to stop in time and his momentum meant that it would be difficult to leap away. With Celtar's back near the column, the Sith would be unable to simply leap over Celtar. Aiming it from his waist at an upward trajectory, the Knight activated the device. By this time, the Orc would be 5m away. The Knight's aim of the firespray gave it maximal chance to latch on to the Sith's clothes and face. Celtar would also change the angle slightly from side to side, hoping to damage the Orc's arms. Celtar would attempt to lead the Sith should he move to avoid the attack but stepped to the side, allowing him to backtrack into the arena if need be. Should the Sith retreat, Celtar would cease firing of the Firespray in order to conserve its relatively limited ammunition. If the Sith still attempted to attack with the staff, Celtar's right hand held his lightsaber in a defensive position and the Knight was ready.

As the Taz'Goreii Sith Sorcerer kept his glowing red eyes cautiously on the Jedi like a hawk, he saw the Jedi put a way his pistol rather quickly then fumbling to grab... something. He doesn't know what it is, but he doesn't want to find out. Xaxis, not wanting to stop his own momentum and wanting his planned attack to land with as less interference as possible, Xaxis'Kahal simply proceeds to empty his left hand of his staff and then quickly extends that same hand towards the Jedi as he is still moving, exerting a heavy amount of use of the force in an attempt to pull Celtar towards him by the chest about 7 meters closer to him. In addition to pulling him closer, it should also interfere with the draw of the firespray he wanted (and not being able to use it on Xaxis by extension), and mess up his readied guard with his lightsaber

It's doubtful that Celtar had ever considered that Xaxis would try that sudden force pull given that he was planning to use Firespray for what was going to be a straight forward charge and prepared his lightsaber for a strike with his staff just in case that failed.

After that, Xaxis then goes for a staff attack, a different one than he was previously going for. With both hands now on the staff, he moves the staff to his right side and thrusts it for the best range towards Celtar's chest once in striking distance, aiming to unleash a concussive blast. If the staff gets blocked somehow, or dodged (unless by a wide margin somehow), the staff's concussive blast will still take off.

kann rolled out of his cover sword drawn when he heard the grenade detonate, not to his surprise the Jedi was already in front of him with an electro-whip poised strike, he knew of their abilities that enhanced the body. electro-whip where uncommon weapon mostly found on slavers, why she had one had his curiosity. the whip wraps around his sword's blade and was pulled from his grip he didn't try to fight it, letting it slid through with no resistance. If she was going to use an unorthodox weapon so was he with his new free hand, he put against his left gauntlet and aim his first towards her, pressing a button to activate his flamethrower.

at first, he aimed at the Jedi but after 2 seconds on focusing the flame on her he activated his jetpack and propelled himself 20m to towards the edge of the street where she first appeared. he kept the flame on her as he flew away shutting it off only when it was out range of her. On landing, he pulls out his spear extending it to its full length and twirling in front of him before assuming a defensive position with his spear pointed towards her at his shoulder level. Ready for her next move if she hadn't perished already in his flames.

Celtar felt himself pulled forward by the power of the Force and watched as his opponent kept up his speed. Celtar's extensive martial arts training had allowed him to pick up on how the man had switched the pike to his right side with a two handed grip, as well as the man's footwork, and allowed him to conclude that he was about to thrust forward. Thinking on his feet, the Knight gathered the Force and, upon landing, used the Force to push powerfully at the end of the staff, pushing it away harmlessly. The sheer force exerted at the very end of the staff would negate the thrust and likely spin the Sith around, though would at least give the Jedi more than enough room to avoid any potential follow up attacks (the blast). Given the fact that the Sith was still running, he would be hard pressed to adjust to the sudden change of momentum presented by his staff being pushed away.

The Knight used his momentum to propel him forward quickly, crossing the gap and thrusting forward with his lightsaber when the staff was furthest away from him, hoping that his deep blue blade would enter the Sith's chest cavity to kill him. He kept an eye on his opponent's body language however and prepared to move out of the way if the Sith somehow countered.

If the Knight's use of the Force were to fail, he would bat the staff aside and ride the concussive blast backwards, giving him more room than he had had before. While in the air, his lightsaber would remain between he and his opponent at all times and he would land in a defensive position, lightsaber held so as to fend off any incoming attacks.

As the vibrosword was pulled from the Imperial's hand by her whip, Emerald pushed outward with the Force, the three meters between them hardly an obstacle to her well practiced hand at the telekinetic arts. The Vibroblade would arch backwards before being driven into the man's chestplate,(@christhebarker's armor can take one stab form vibroblades, he is otherwise unharmed}, before falling to the floor.

Even as the Imperial attempted to turn his flamethrower upon her, Emerald would drop her electro whip and launch herself at him, plunging her lightsaber through his chest as her full weight came down upon him, likely breaking bones underneath her wake. With a roar of anguish and fury as the flames embrace her armor in a searing pain all to familiar to the Horansi, Emerald would seek to sink her teeth into the man's neck through his armor, likely denting the metal slightly without harming him, though she would hold her position atop her prey until the twitch of life left his body.

(OOC - @christhebarker by striking you with your own sword your actions following dropping the weapon are interrupted, if you wish to follow through with the flamethrower that's fine, but Emerald will attack your character with her lightsaber before pouncing on him as I have stated above.)

As the Taz'goreii Sith charges forward after his pull did exactly what he wanted it to, the plebeian who dares stand before him then suddenly throws out a powerful force push that hit the crystal of Xaxis'Kahal's Kyber Staff Xaxix' momentum and run was stopped and he was staggered Sith about a meter away. The weapon was recoiled heavily from the push, he exerted more power all of a sudden that he prepared for and seeing as the Jedi coming in for a thrust, he decided to let the staff fly out of his hands from the heavy force push rather than waste time fighting with the weapon while trying to fight the Jedi in a melee. He quickly sidesteps to the right in order to avoid Celtar's thrust.

Even though Xaxis managed to avoid any game-ending blows, it wasn't without damage. As Xaxis had some of his left upper arm burned from the edge of Celtar's lightsaber. Xaxis growled in pain. He is seething with anger and hatred for the Jedi. After completing his sidestep, he faces the Jedi and then sidesteps to the right again as he draws his lightsaber from his hip with his right hand, igniting it's vile red blade.

Kann saw his sword returning towards him, with no time to grab his spear from his belt he instead bats it of course with his right gauntlet in a quick single motion. He does backwards roll to gain more distance before he activates his jetpack and propelling himself 20m to towards the edge of the street where she first appeared.

he Once again he activates his flamethrower while in the air shutting it off only when it was out range of her, he also pulls out his spear extending it to its full-length at the beginning of his flight. On landing, he twirls his spear in front of him before assuming a defensive position with his spear pointed towards her at his shoulder level, Ready for her next move.

Emerald dropped her electro whip as the vibrosword was cast aside by the gauntlet of the Imperial's armor, the Horansi never even heard the metal weapon clattering to the stone below as she leaped forward with her lightsaber rushing forward like the tip of a white hot spear. The silver plasma pierced naught but air as her intended target managed to back roll under and away from the lightsaber's blade. The Jedi Knight wasted no time with her reaction, throwing the silver lightsaber forward, towards the chest of the pseudo-mandalorian as the Imperial engaged his jetpack. There was no outrunning what was essentially a Force guided missile, not even with the jetpack as it's propulsion would not be instantaneous.
