I'm trying to decide whether or not his comment was meant to be dickish. I always take inspiration from real life cultures, subcultures, eras and even music genres when writing my Sith and encourage other writers to do the same, instead of just copying canon.
yeah it's pretty difficult to determine the connotation of text xD. I also try to write my characters uniquely (I mean think about how many people literally write the same template character just with a different name)
I'll be embarrassed if it wasn't meant to be personal or anything. I interpret sarcasm and dry humor very badly.
Yeah I mean Andromeda was actually inspired by Darth Vader, but you wouldn't guess that by reading her. I took a well-known concept and added my own take on it.
Yeah I agree. It annoys me when I see characters directly modeled off canon ones, I've lost count of the amount of Mauls I've seen, and the "manipulative, calculating, controlled" Palpy clone is always a classic.
You could have just told us you didn't mean any malicious intent, which is what I initially thought, instead of responding in a rude and hostile manner. Either way, I apologize for my misunderstanding as I do not interpret sarcasm or indirect humor well.
Just to clarify, my comments weren't directed at you, or anybody in particular. I don't know anything about your character. I was just referring to the general canon copies you often see on the site and how a "pre 2000s synth pop underground sith" would actually be more interesting to see.
Obviously, given that you have no context regarding the post in general. Therein is your problem, you do not know me, you do not know what I was talking about, and you should not have posted to begin with.
