I think that not having an alternative to using the force as a weapon is part of the fun. Lots of thinking, lots of planning. But it does bring up an interesting question.
The idea was that (with a promise that the character will never be able to use a weapon / lightsaber) the character would have perhaps prolonged use of force, maybe get out one or two more force push' than the average force user.
