Greetings, everyone! My name is Choomie and I sort of accidentally stumbled upon this forum. No worries, I consider it a happy accident. I've been looking for a free-form writing website to fill my time with and this seems to be exactly what I've been looking for. I hope to get along swimmingly with everyone encountered here.

I just finished reading the Terms of Service and character rules while simultaneously completing my player profile. Everything should be up to date and ready to go.

Does anyone have any "newbie" tips they'd care to pass along to me?

I have a few tips: don't die. Yup. Oh, that and:

• You can only have three characters maximum, and stay in one faction at a time.
• You can sign up for the following factions at these links: Jedi, Sith, Republic.
• You probably already knew that, but I'm just going to continue anyway.
• Open threads are often death-enabled unless specified otherwise, so be careful there.
• If you're looking for people to thread with, check out some names here.
• If you have any other questions or concerns, I'm always here to lend you a hand.

Thank you for the hospitality, @Deviant. Not dying is a fair talent of mine and I hope to impress the masses with my skills.

• I assume the three-character maximum is in general. For instance, if a character dies then you may replace them with a new character, correct?
• Regarding factions, are independent characters okay? I don't plan on joining a faction until I'm familiar with the scheme of things here. However, I think that factions are typically good for players because they essentially join a small community of people automatically there to support one another.
• If I'm interested in starting a thread with a player on that list, should I shoot them a message in Conversation?

@Choomie,

1. Yes, if a character dies you may replace them since you now have zero characters if you only had one before the PvP incident.
2. You do not have to join a faction, there are plenty of indie factions that are filled with good people who would gladly have you.
3. A PM is always a good thing, people here try their very best to help out new members learn the ropes and show them what to do. You can expect a PM from an admin with all of the necessary details sometime in the future.

• Indeed. When one character dies, or you choose to archive them, you're more than welcome to replace 'em.
• Independent characters are great! Not a problem with trying to get the scheme of things before diving too deep. Indie characters can actually join indie factions too, like the Accord or Death Watch. You can check some out here.
• Of course! I mean, we could do a thread too... if you want... :^)
