(OOC: This is going to be a mission thread for @Sammeister and myself. Anyone is welcome to ask to join! Especially Jedi!)

Galactic Evolution
Indie Space
0800 Shipboard Time
Sitting on top of his small, battered, and slightly aged light freighter, Jedi Master Kai Sera held a hydrospanner I'm his hand as he tried to pry a loose panel off with the Force. As the young, dark-haired man did his best not to ruin the part of the ship he had to wonder if he would get the repairs done in time; he had a mission planned for today and had placed a mission notice so that Jedi on board the Galactic Evolution could join him. Knowing he would have a mission today, and that his ship was in desperate need of repairs, Kai had gotten up hours earlier to start getting to work on his transport. He was almost done now, if only he could get this damned panel off so he might repair the system underneath! With a loud and unpleasant wrenching noise, the panel screeched as it came loose, the noise echoing throughout the large open hanger. Looking around, Kai glanced at the mechanics and technicians as they stared at him. Swearing silently to himself, the young master placed the panel down on the ship top next to him as he went to work fixing the panel. It was all he could do to prevent him from focusing too much at the mission at hand.

The mission before him was a bit of a mess. A young Jedi Knight had gone rogue and had left the Order and the fleet, quite dramatically. Best that anyone could tell, the rogue knight had left the previous day and was headed towards Sith territory, where they suspected he'd try to betray the Order. The how and why were still a little fuzzy, all Kai knew was that the Jedi was last seen heading towards Kashyyyk, a planet they had recently liberated from the Sith, and from there Kai guessed that the knight would try to make it across the front lines. Naturally, it was important to the Order to stop this rogue Jedi from reaching his destination. Kai hoped it was just a bruised ego, some hurt feelings that could easily be assuaged and comforted. He feared that this Jedi had truly fallen, or worse yet, was a spy for the Sith, though Kai rather doubted it.

Finishing up with his repairs, Kai used the Force to pick up the durasteel paneling and maneuver it into place over the ship's hull. Carefully, he placed it down and fitted it back onto the ship where he used the spanner to seal it back on with several bolts. Hopping on down, Kai cleaned his hands with a greasy rag, trying to get some of the oil and grime off of them before the Jedi who wished to go on this mission arrived. Kai had sent one invitation out to a new Padawan he was rather curious to meet; Kai did his best to get acquainted with all the new Padawans as best as he could, but his time as both teacher and a leader made that difficult. But with this one Kai felt the Force wanted him to give her a closer look, so when he received the mission he personally sent this Padawan a request to join him. Now all he had to do was wait for the Jedi to arrive before they could get going. In the meantime, Kai was going to check the fuel levels and make sure everything was sorted before they left.

The sound of her steps lightly clanked along the corridor of the ship, the small woman was certainly a strange sight to see. She was a Jedi and yet she wore clothes as dark as her family's history, whether it was to intimidate others due to her weak persuasion skills, or to remember where she came from; She never really delved into it. Sam didn't know if she would ever adjust to the way of life that so many took for granted, her upbringing one of pain compared to most. It left the tiny Padawan with enough self-doubt and anger for her to be such a delicate case to the council, who had until now not let her assist in anything above simple missions and have not assigned her a Master. She knew she was a threat in a way, though most that could see her knew she had no intention of following in her father's footsteps. Sam had a bad habit of getting lost in her thoughts, while she wasn't overly clever or intelligent, she did spend alot of time daydreaming and meditating. It was the point where she felt closest to the force, which was rare for her due to her weak link to it.

She had glances from the others as she made her way towards the hangar where she would be meeting with Master Kai, for her very first real mission. Her nerves were more then shot; She had to stop herself from fidgeting with her new choice of outfit and her hair as she guided herself based on feeling, rather then knowledge of the ship. As she arrived in the hangar she could spot the Master repairing his ship, and hesitated for a moment. She was scared of a Master's judgement, having the only opinion on her and her abilities so far being that of her father. Her tired and piercing blue eyes scanned around her at the others, and she quickly made her way past them towards him. No doubt he sensed her as she made her approach, her eyes with light bags under them from the lack of sleep and worrying she often as plagued by.

Sam stopped next to his ship and set her hands behind her back and tried her best to stand up straight. "Master Kai?" She asked to be sure, the small teen looked like someone who would be better suited with studies rather then fighting if necessary. "My name is Sam, im the Padawan you requested to join you. I hope im not too late." Sam tried to calm herself as best as she could, but being in the presence of someone like Kai was... exhilarating and calming at the same time.

As the young teen walked around the ship, he was met with awkward stares and glares due to his Sith heritage. He really did look like a Sith, with dark clothes and dark demeanour, it was no wonder that he was met with these kind of looked, Josis was used to these kinds of looks. With his fellow Jedi and the general population of the ship. It became a regular occurrence for him that it just flew to the back of his mind. As he made his way back to his room, he was met by some very angry stares and deadly grins, which encouraged the Padawan to pick up pace. As he entered, he grabbed the a light bag from off the floor before attaching his two red lightsabers to his belt.

He began to make his way to the hanger where he had been instructed to go as he had been selected for a mission with a Jedi master. He had only met one Jedi master before and the jedi loathed him, going so far as to bullying the new Padawan. As he walked he shivered slightly as the air turned cold. He quietly made his way to the hanger as he noticed the Jedi master and another Padawan standing in the hanger, just finishing the last of the repairs to his ship, which presumably they would be travelling on.

As he stood at the door, he took a moment to steel himself before making his way over to the pair. He smiled slightly, to try and show no fear of the new encounter. "Master Kai?" he said, trying to keep the fear out of his voice "My name is Josis, I was requested to join you. Sorry for being late." As he shivered slightly. He was excited to work in the presence of a Jedi master but it was also scary at the same time, as he felt he would be critiqued by Kai

The start of a new life. It felt so raw to have so few rules, so little pressure other than that she put upon herself. This was the best of the situations Fen thought to find herself in, that alone was relaxing. Unlike the dark, glittering gown she was used to wearing for so much of her life, Fen at least felt she had taken a step down in her new wardrobe. A teal salwar fitted close to her upper body, tiny golden stars stitched in delicate metallic thread in a sea of silk. It left her light red shoulders bare and the scrawny things gave way to pipe cleaner arms down to delicate hands. Under the embroidered edge of her sawlwar top, that came down to her thighs the girl wore a pair of light tan trousers, the knees padded with reddish leather in bands and at the bottom a pair of similarly reddish ankle boots. Tight and confining compared to the slippers she was used to, however in these she was at least able to run. Something that was brand new to her this week and like a great many things was profoundly terrible at. While her clothes and lack of robes might be enough to stand out amongst Jedi, her face certainly was. That same light red colour with six triangular tattoos, three under each eye pointing downwards. A seventh a bar down the middle of both lips, all in a deeper crimson red. Tattoos from a past she had only the briefest of memories of and no idea behind their meaning. Finally came her hair, a deep purple and naturally wavy. Long as well, though bound up into a clasp as it was it seemed far shorter. The give away was the braids that hung down past her cheeks, three on each side again with beads at the ends, the one on the left slightly longer than the others, set to grow more so.

For the past week, this ship, had been her home. Something she found fine when landed, far less so at any other time. As a rule the girl hated space travel, even more so when the blasted thing required such regular maintenance. If it was a team of full professionals working on it she would feel that at least it shouldn't break down, she did not have such faith in her new teachers skills however. Their relationship was, tense. He had since they met, assaulted her, caused her injury, kidnapped her and all under the guise of a saving her. She had started to come around to some of the idea but not enough to come even close to forgiving him. He was however the only one that could teach her the path she had taken right now. To be a Jedi, she had to learn everything and she was certainly behind many others training at her age. Only a single use of the Force was she even remotely practiced in, reading the auras of people that lied, that was it. Even that was next to useless when a Force user was her target. However, she was making some progress.

This morning she had, like the last two, worked on finding the limits of her body. First flexibly, bending and contorting, using muscles she barely had before. Then stretches, running and calisthenics already she could do all of them for longer and faster than before, already it had worn her out even this early. However self-control was a skill she did have and the breathing she had been taught helped further so onwards she pushed. She had picked up on the fact that the Force flowed though all life, including herself. Feeling it was something she was still struggling with, at least on a conscious level. So she had elected to try something she had found buried in the archives. Carefully she had placed a series of boxes, tools, odds and ends into stacks in the cargo bay. There should have been enough room to pass by each one and with her eyes closed Fen had been trying just that, and for the most part bumping into each and every one of them. The idea was that she felt the objects with the Force, just like she did with a lie, however all she could really feel is how much it wasn't working. The bruises attested to that.

After an hour and many breaks to pick up the mess she almost managed to navigate a whole two obstacles before an almighty tearing of metal roared through the ship. He'd probably caused himself a mischief again. Rolling her eyes Fen made up her mind that she needed to try something else for a hour or two and started to put things back where she had found them. When that was done she had cleared a space once again and started on stepping. The act as she understood it of falling into a ready stance for combat, feet planted for balance but with enough energy to spring into another stance. For now she was doing as she had been shown, stepping an using that energy to step into another step, sweeping movements while her hands tried to find the right place to be. They helped with the moment and carried the energy forwards, this almost dance as something she was finding far more natural than finding the Force. It was also something she could get lost in, which Fen promptly did. Carrying herself to the loading ramp without thinking. Oh.

She had known there was going to be something, though her teacher had been vague on the details. Now there were two beings at the bottom of the ramp one she had not seen before and the other human. Both seemed to be Jedi and their words and actions made the purpose clear, yet so many Jedi. Was this a dangerous mission? A controlled breath again Fen broken from her stance and tried to flush away the energy that had built up in her arms with a vigorous shake. Placing her hands together in front of her she took several steps down the ramp towards them, a well practiced polite smile. Enough to pull at the corners of her eyes, at her cheekbones, her voice soft and framed in etiquette, "Good morning Padawans."

The first sign that someone had entered the hanger was a rolling sensation of anxiety that tickled the back of Kai's mind. Looking up as he heard his name called, the young Jedi master was rather surprised to see the young brunette standing before him with her hands behind her back, almost as though she were standing at attention. Judging by her body language, Kai would say this young lady was trying to calm herself down. Smiling at the Padawan, Kai offered her a small bow. "Sam, ah yes, I'm glad you made it. I'm Master Kai Sera, though you may simply call me Kai; it's easier and I don't really stand on formality all that much. And no, you're not too late at all, in fact I'd say you're just about on time!" He gave another smile as he noticed another Padawan approaching, this one was an alien, a Lamian if he remembered the term correctly. Bowing at him, Kai offered this Padawan a smirk. "Ah, you were requested to join me as well, were you? Very well Padawan Josis, like Sam here you may call me Kai as well."

As they stood there, Kai began giving the Jedi a look over and a cursory sense with the Force to get a basic feel for each Padawan. After a few seconds he heard another voice, soft, but distinctly proper, and Kai knew that it was the voice of Fen Vel, the young Zeltron Kiffar he had liberated from a crime lord as his slave. Perhaps initially unwilling, but after the mess he and Saana had caused, he couldn't rightly leave the girl there to fend for herself. That said, she definitely hadn't warmed up to him, though he could hardly blame her for treating him like he was a Sith; he had been pretending to be one when they first met. Now that she had chosen to learn under him though, he hoped that he would be able to show her what she was capable of as a Jedi. "Ah, Fen, glad you could join us. Fen Vel, this is Sam and Josis, we'll be working together on a mission today." He looked from the pink-skinned teenager to the other two. There was a brief sensation of curiosity mixed with what Kai might have called worry coming from Fen for a moment as she examined the Padawans. As for the two newcomers, Kai had high hopes for them.

"We'll be heading towards Kashyyyk where a renegade Jedi Knight is suspected of trying to sneak off to join the Sith. We're tasked with stopping him. Obviously this will be a little dangerous, but if you trust on each other and on the Force I'm sure you'll pull through just fine,"
Of course Kai would be there the whole time as well, but he didn't want to say that just yet. The Master wanted the Padawans to think about relying on each other and the Force instead of just on him and his abilities. "Now, any questions from either of you before we get on the ship and leave?" He asked as he motioned towards the transport as he took a step towards the ramp.

Sam's tired eyes searched out for Kai's and when they met, she flinched lightly and became more conscious of her feelings and what could be read. She gulped lightly as she nodded to him, "Understood, Master Kai. I mean, Kai..." She moved one hand from her back to brush some strands that had fallen near her eyes and that was when the other Padawan joined them. She was visibly caught off guard by him due to her having not much knowledge of the species of the galaxy, and she certainly hadn't meet any other Lamians in her time on the ship. As she observed him she could could feel something in the back of her head, the same feeling she got when she thought of her family; She came to the conclusion that his life must have had the Sith leave its mark just like hers. There was also a noticeable height difference between the two, but the teen was used to it by now. She could see he wasn't standing at attention like she was, and she blushed a light pink im embarrassment before undoing her hands from her back and softly putting them together in front of her in a more relaxed fashion. She silently cursed as she avoided looking at anyone other then her shoes, having to realize she had more etiquette to work on then she realized.

She could see Kai observing her and the other Padawan from the corner of her eye and she reached up to gently adjust her collar, sure of him being able to read more then she was willing to say. She welcomed the distraction of the third Padawan joining them, her head turning to glance back at her. Her bright blue eyes took in all of her, maybe looking for a little too long before she turned back towards the Master Jedi. There she stood with two other Padawans, and she couldn't get a feel for them through the force like Kai could or the other Padawan's, so she had to go by her eyes to judge. She felt small as she was, but in terms of power she had doubt creeping in that she would be able to keep up. After all, her knowledge of fighting was very limited, but it was the only thing she excelled at.

At his question she softly mumbled for a moment before biting onto her bottom lip and redivising her question. "What is Kashyyk like...?" She asked curiously, of course not having seen that many planets in her time either. She looked to the two before moving past them and following him up the ramp as well.

Josis studied the other Padawan out of the corner of his eyes as he began to study her. He noticed the fact that she was rather scared almost, which made him slightly more at ease, knowing that someone else was scared also. Though he did pick up a few signs from the q, she clearly didn't want to be judged by Kai and she almost had the same expression as Josis. From those conclusions, he deduced that she was most likely an ex sith as well which made him feel at ease due to having someone else that he could rely on.

The other Padawan, Fen seemed to be a character and clearly she was the only one not tense about this mission. As Fen studied him slowly he noticed a sense of worry ebbing from her, which made him angry. While he wanted to prove himself on this mission, he was definitely not wanting someone doubting his abilities without even witnessing them. That's what annoyed him the most, as he felt the anger rise from his chest as he tried to calm himself, which wasn't usually easy but he was in the presence of a master and he certainly did not want to be judged by him so he forced himself to be keep positive and calm just for today.

As Kai explained the mission ahead of the group, he felt a sense of unease as they would be hunting a rouge Jedi so there would bound to be Sith there. He was not risking being taken back to the Empire to face punishment for leaving the Sith. That made this mission even more deadly so Josis was going to take this one more seriously. He had heard of the jungle planet but had never been there personally. "isn't it a jungle planet?" He asked before making his way up the ramp.

Fen knew what it was like to see someone angry, it didn't take very long for her at all in life to learn how to detect those people. People that might do her harm, meaning to or not and this Alien gave her a look that confirmed it, if only for a second. Standing in the middle of the ramp, with her hands held close together she remained still, calm and smiling as some more detailed were unveiled. The planet that they were going to, some backwater if she remembered correctly, nothing of importance there. The why a Jedi that wanted to be no more, Fen didn't really feel it was that much of a problem but for one thing. He knew where the Jedi were hiding, so did she to an extent, they all did. So while she found little reason for to stop a Jedi who wanted to leave to become something else, to join their enemies with his memories intact was something that could not be allowed to happen. The lives of everyone would be in danger that included her. So that in turn meant, he had to be stopped at all costs. It would be nice for this to have just been a misunderstanding, something easily fixed with a smile, however the worst might indeed happen. Not that she would be killing anyone or even fighting, she hadn't even mastered running yet.

There was another that was, intriguing too though. A planet, a new one. In her life she had been on a swamp planet and another only in memory. This week she had been to a dry planet with cities, that was something brand new to her. Now a jungle, sure she had seen pictures, read a lot. The idea of a planet where the trees stood tall, everything so full of life. Actually being allowed to touch it rather than look of a window, it was certainly something that pulled her towards it. There was a job though, that might come after in a soft moment, first. Once the questions of the others were answered she stepped aside to let them all past, "I would like to know everything about this wayward Knight. If we are to enlighten them as to the error of their ways, we must know why they have taken this path." Following at the rear she kept an obvious distance from the others. Like so many other times she had followed as a slave it was natural to be so without even thinking about. If she was to be any use on this mission besides as a learner then her only useful talent, was talking. Well that and lying, she could do that fairly well.

As Kai's dark grey eyes met Sam's blue ones, he could see how tired this girl was and it made him wonder why she felt that way. Humming to himself as the Padawans started to gather around and get a feel for each other through the Force, or whatever skills they had garnered over the years before they came to the Order. Seeing Sam fidget with her collar caused the eldest Jedi present to smile silently as he tried his best to suppress a small chuckle. Sensing the anger boiling inside Josis, Kai's eyes flashed his way shooting him a disarming glare. Luckily, the anger came and went quickly, so there was no need to take further actions or make any remarks. Sometimes even Jedi felt anger, it was only natural after all, so long as the Jedi did not allow their anger to control them like a Sith, then there would be no issue that needed to be addressed.

Looking to Fen for a moment, Kai looked back at Sam as she aired her question. Josis did his best to answer it. Then the Zeltron-Kiffar hybrid asked her own question. Nodding at each one, Kai gave another little hum and smiled. "Sam, Kashyyyk is a planet of trees. Tall, giant trees that are taller than many buildings on some worlds. It is the homeworld of the Wookiees as well. It's very green, and in some parts travelling on the forest floor is so dark that it appears to be night when it's actually midday. I do not know where we'll find this knight, so we should be ready and prepared for anything." Turning back to face Fen, Kai frowned. "His name is Arkis Durell. He's a Cathar who was knighted a few years back. The details regarding his departure are still uncertain. We just know that he left making quite a scene, promising to return with a Sith battlefleet at his back, and that he is heading towards the border via Kashyyyk."

Motioning for the three Padawans to follow him, Kai led the trio back up into the lounge of the Tar'ja's Hope a small Corellian freighter that Kai had liberated from some pirate scum back when he was a knight. It had seen him through many adventures, and it would be their mode of transportation for at least the initial leg of this mission. For Fen, who had decided to learn the Force from the cargo hold of the ship, it would feel just as much home to her as it did to Kai. "Feel free to get comfortable, I'll be taking off shortly. Anyone who wishes may join me in the cockpit, there's enough seats, just don't touch anything unless I ask you to. I'd rather not have to save this ship from self-destructing because somebody flipped the wrong switch." He smirked a little at the three before pressing the button to the ramp. Moving towards the cockpit, Kai strapped himself in, going through the motions of starting the engines up.

Sam slightly rolled her shoulders as she glanced between the two padawans due to her size, she knew she was small compared to her father and her big sister, but she didn't think she would feel the same way with other Jedi. She knew she needed to meditate, she had spent too much time awake and listening to the doubt in her head; Thankfully she would get that chance on the flight over. The Jedi Master painted quite the vivid picture in her head, her mind wandering through those tall trees that made her chest clench a tiny bit. She must admit she never liked things that shadowed over her, just like the old antennas she used to repair for her father as a chore; They too were colossal to her, making her feel so insignificant and small. Shaking herself from her thoughts as they headed into the lounge of the ship, she crossed her arms across her chest subconsciously. "I've never really seen all too much green i must admit." She said timidly out loud, mostly just addressing the master.

Listening to the story about the Jedi placed some confidence deep in her chest, knowing that this person would probably not be leaving without a fight atleast. She figured thats what all traitors would do in that situation; You don't threaten to return with a Sith fleet on your back without meaning it. Sam's realization was surely felt by the Master, but she took a few steps back from the group and opened her mouth to say something. She mumbled before cutting herself off and just raising her hand and signaling that she was going to retreat for solitude. She made her way off to a secluded part of the ship and sat down on the floor, letting out a tiny exhale as she closed her eyes and tried her best to float into peaceful thoughts and the force. Of course it took her a few minutes of shifting and rolling her shoulders before she was able to feel that connection to the force once again, and as it came it washed over her and relaxed her body. "Hmm." She ever so lightly hummed to herself as she was in a Zen state, using the Force in this way to herself was the most accomplished feat she could do.

She knew she should probably be out there with the other Padawans, getting to know them and socializing like the Council would want her to, but she was never one for talking. She always felt uncomfortable around other learners, growing up in the environment she did where everything was a competition, she didn't want to feel like the loser or slow learner ever again. She had come too far for that.

As Josis looked at Kai, he noticed that Kai gave him a long hard stare when he was angry, he sighed. The Jedi could read him like a book whether Josis wanted them to or not, even Fen was able to pick up his emotional state. He felt ashamed that he had let that anger get to him, in front of a Jedi master, which was one of the most embarrassing things ever to happen to him. As he walked up the into the lounge area of Kai's ship, he wished that his ship was like that as he looked around the lounge. As he told the group about the forest planet, he started to paint a picture in his head of large, ever-growing trees and dark areas of the forest. He did enjoy the dark, after all that was how he was raised to be. He was bred just to be a Sith warrior like his parents before him, that was the only reason his parents wanted a child.

When Kai was explaining about the Jedi, he couldn't help but wonder what was going through the Jedi's head when he decided to leave. Was it almost like his experience from leaving the Sith, and making his way over to the Jedi Order. Also, surely the Jedi knew he would be chased after, till he reached the Sith force. Also who even knows if the Sith would let him live, never mind let him join the order. Then again, the Knight would have knowledge of all the Jedi bases and where they were situated, so naturally he was a threat to the existence of the order. It was what the order would do after they caught the runaway knight. As Kai made his way into the cockpit and Sam signalled that she would go somewhere else, Josis simply followed Kai into the cockpit, sitting down next to him. "I hope you don't mind if I sit here?" As he sat down and strapped himself in

Fen didn't understand the frown, she had thought she was being as peaceful as possible with her question. Was there something else that she brought up ill feeling from Kai? Did he maybe know this Jedi? That made sense as there weren't so very many Jedi that one could not know them all, at least as she understood it. It would be best not to probe further however, he would likely dislike that. If it was something that needed to be shared, she was sure that he would, sooner for later. By the time she had reached that conclusion everyone had spit up and left her alone. The girl into the interior of the ship, Kai and Josis to the cockpit. Fen knew one of those places she did not want to be in the slightest. Space by and large scared the bejeebus out of her and seeing it made it far worse, so she stayed as far as possible away from the windows and the airlocks. Instead with most of her question answered she came to a stop and looked towards the backs of everyone else for a moment. She felt somewhat ill equipped for actually interacting with these two, not that she was really equipped to deal with anyone.

Weighting her options the red skinned girl finally picked one and made up her mind to settle down and try a different kind of training, to at least be able to focus on something else while they did the whole, space thing. It wasn't that big of a ship so options where rather limited. The engine room was nosy, the lounge tended towards busy and her quarters were, well they would normally be fine. Right now though, she felt the storage room would be quietest. There was no grounding for that, Fen didn't think to question why she felt that, she just started walking. That same soft, silent walk she was always taught a slave should have. So when she reached the dimly lit room, her surprise was stifled by a hand. The girl, Sam was alone inside, of all those on the ship? Was this not the most obscure? For a second she thought to just turn and leave, but, then she didn't. Breathing as soft as possible Fen let herself inside, keeping to the edge of the room and doing her best not to disturb anyone. Then slipping to her knees she settled and with one last glance she closed her own eyes. Promptly to fail to feel anything remotely like the Force at all, however hard she tried or tried not to, just like every time.

The understanding, she felt she had that, the process, the motions. Those she could read about, like the bumping into boxes however she seemed unable to turn that into anything remotely useful. When the humming started from her seemingly oblivious companion it didn't seem any easier. Just remaining silent and still Fen knelt and continued to breath slowly, at least she wasn't thinking about the void that would shortly be enveloping them.

As weak as Sam was in the force, she could always meditate and feel such a strong connection to everything. Everything that was and is, connected and yet separate. Her eyes scrunched slightly up in confusion as she sought through the force for some kind of explanation of why she was so weak, and why she had such trouble using it. It was as if the force itself was uncertain, just like her, about her future and her purpose among all living things. Like she didn't fit in the grand scheme of the force. This slight itch in the back of her neck, an inkling of what was true, lead her to feel confused. Though the confusion was soon shattered by the lightest tap of Fen's foot as she was discovered, making her ear twitch much like a cat as it picks up a sound. She didn't move though, but her connection and meditation was finished, for now. She kept her eyes closed, pretending she didn't hear the girl discover her. Though when she could hear the slight rustling of her clothes as she began to meditate too, her mind wandered as to why the girl came there as well.

Sam softly exhaled as she called out so gently, like her voice was treading above water. "I can leave if you want..." It was so strange at times to hear Sam talk, like she truly was a songbird unlike the rest of her family. "I uhm..." She opened one eye softly and glanced over at Fen, "I don't want to disturb your meditating or anything. Besides, i... can't seem to find anything today." She exhaled softly, that voice barely a whisper and yet it came so clear and so soft to the other girl's ear. She moved to get up, shuffling from her position and beginning to raise.

"Is it meant to be about finding something?" If Sam was a songbird, Fen was a Rodian Quilted Swamp Toad. Timid and quiet, yet carrying a weight enough not to be misheard. Pronounced and clear, pleasant to human ears and with a certainty that she did not process in her own knowledge any more. Opening her eyes to the darkness and offering a small, forced smile Fen looked right through Sam's eyes, "I am the one that interrupted," Then after a moments pause she explained, "Of all the rooms on the ship we were both drawn to this one?" If it was odd chance, then it was just that. As it had been explained to her though, the Force drew the universe together in strange and interesting ways. That alone was enough to cause her to take a seat, to listen. Yet again it seemed in vain, "If the Force can be felt, I have not." Fen wanted the shift slightly but refrained, remaining firmly knelt on the floor. It was hard to admit ones own shortcomings, harder still with a stranger however she felt nothing to be ashamed of. How much progress could one person make in but a week?

"You need not leave on my account, I can for yours if you wish but I hear that it is easier to find things when many people look."
Fen found it easier to meditate alone, however that wasn't exactly producing any results. She felt no closer to the Force than she did when she started, that is to say, nothing at all. The girl's face came to mind again, small features, somewhat childlike. Right now Fen couldn't see it but it didn't seem a dangerous face, "What does the Force feel like?"

Sam was lightly taken a back at the question, though quickly she figured it must've been her asking why she was meditating. "Uh... Not quite." She replied to the other girl, feeling a little taken back by her eyes opening to her and that smile she could sense was a bit forced. Her head lightly jerking back at Fen seeing right through her eyes. Her thoughts immediately turned to if this girl saw what was inside of her, and that made her walls come up quickly. She tensed up, no doubt it was palpable in her crouching stature as she observed Fen. She hadn't quite seen anyone like her, but there was an eerie resemblance to something she saw in a dream once, on a particularly rough night back home. "I... I don't know. Most Jedi's would say the Force brought us here but, i doubt that. Probably just... the quiet?" She answered truthfully, not that she really knew any better. She moved from her crouching and sat down with her legs cross and looked over at Fen again, her left bangs lightly falling near her eye and causing her to brush it away with a soft sigh of frustration at it.

"I uhm... I don't have a great connection to it. Honestly the... only time i can really feel it is when i meditate." She spoke in an unsure manner, like she was double checking everything she was going to say. At the suggestion to meditate together, Sam looked a bit unsure and timidly reached up to play with the loose hanging bang. "I've never meditated with anyone before, so i can't... really say if it does much." Though Fen's next question made her softly nod and scrunch her nose up in thought. "Kind of like... Imagine if everything was underwater, and you could feel your moving in your body. Its like that; Just like everything flows together and through you, using you. Least thats what its like for me." She looked towards the other girl with a bit of shyness in her eyes as she used her hands to scoot herself over to her. "How long as it been since you realize you were force sensitive?"

"I am still not convinced I am," Fen answered truthfully for once. Setting herself back down into the best kneel she could manage, still keeping her eyes open, "I can tell when most people are lying, that is all. I've been able to do that almost all my life, I've been told that is because of the Force, a week ago." It felt like it had been longer than that for certain but it wasn't, Fen was still completely brand new to the world of the Jedi. Taking a deep controlled breath she tried hard to see if could feel any of the ripples that Sam described, alas nothing still. It just felt like she was sitting in an almost empty room.

Once that moment had passed once more she tried to reciprocate, still speaking softly, calmly and somewhat slowly, "When did you realise, before you became a Jedi?" It seemed logical that Sam, from the way she moved and the way she had just spoken had far more experience than Fen did. Despite that though, she seemed fresh, eager to please and that would imply that she was still new to the Jedi, or so Fen assumed.
