A Runaway Princess

Location: The Naboo Bar
Time: 14:00

Arwen ran out by herself, being able to finally get away from her escorts. Being a princess was tough. She never had a long enough break to find a Jedi master and she had luckily been able to escape out into the town and see the market without being on a timed schedule or having escorts chasing after her or scurrying her away from bustling crowds. It was soon enough though that she had a group surrounding her. Not the typed she preferred though. It was a group of storm troopers with guns pointed directly at her. She then made up a plan quickly in her mind of how to get out and since she was a fast runner, she bolted forward, breaking the barricade around her and wouldn't stop until she arrived into the bar on Naboo.

Arwen ran and ran for a long time before she found The Naboo Bar. She looked behind her and saw one of the troopers nearby, but far enough to give her time to hide. She ran into the bar quickly, running into the furthest corner where a taller man was sitting and she sat right across from him, his outline keeping her out of sight. A trooper walked into the bar searching around and the bartender asked him what he was doing. The trooper asked if he had seen the princess enter in the bar, but the bartender was smart enough and shook his head turning the trooper away. Awen let out a long sigh. Right now she didn't exactly look neat as a princess. She was more like a sweaty muscular girl that was given the title of princess. She looked to the man in front of her and gave a tiny smile.

The Naboo Bar... High society never was very creative, and this apparently extended to their business' names. Not that it bothered Dash. What it lacked in character, it made up for in class. Considering Dash had a few credits to spare for once, he decided to splurge and kick around on a nice world for once. A nice change of pace from slumming it on Tatooine for a few months. Most of the clientele had regarded him rather coldly; his general dirty, disheveled look not really fitting into the snobby surroundings, but credits were credits; and the booze here wasn't even watered down!

Ain't exactly strong, either. Dash thought as he shuffled the glass of dark ale in front of him, before looking up at the pitcher he'd bought. There was enough for one more glass, and at the price, Dash wasn't going to be able to afford another one. As it is, the Bartender isn't getting a tip.

Dash was jarred from his thoughts as his table was roughly bumped; nearly knocking the pitcher of ale over. He looked up to see a flustered looking woman; gasping for breath as though she had just run a marathon. He glanced around the bar to see if anyone else had noticed the woman's rather abrupt arrival, but sank into his seat when he noticed the Stormtroopers at the bar. They had no reason to bother Dash, but he wasn't about to give them a reason too either. As quickly as they had come, though; they left. Dash returned his attention to the woman across from him, who smiled slightly.

"Gonna put two and two together and guess you didn't want the bucket heads to see you?" Dash said, before taking a casual sip of his drink.

Arwen watched as he looked between the troopers and then back to her asking a question. His question was one she enjoyed hearing and that made her smile widen a little bit to know that someone was finally talking to her like a normal person. "Yes sir. You would be correct. They have a bounty on my head. One that could practically pay the whole town with." she said seriously. She was lucky that her cover wasn't exactly blown and hoped it wouldn't be again. There was a small silence between the two for a second and she decided that she should probably introduce herself. "I'm Arwen Jarrus. I deeply apologize for running into your table I just had to find the darkest corner to hide in." she apologized after she introduced herself.

She then looked to the almost empty pitcher of alcohol she nearly knocked over when racing to find a hiding spot. Arwen called over the bartender and ordered another pitcher for the man. It was the least she could do for him after barging in on his afternoon. She looked back to him and smiled. "I'll pay for all of it." she offered kindly. A few seconds later, the bartender came back over with more of the ale for him. Arwen paid him giving him pretty much a one hundred dollar tip. She had handed him ten regular credits and then handed over a single one hundred dollar credit. "Uhh, ma'am..." he started. She smiled and looked at him. "Keep the tip. You work hard enough for it." she responded seeing the bartender's face light up with happiness. "Well , thank you very much!" he said heading back to the bar area taking other orders for drinks. She watched him for a second before her attention turned back to the man in front of her.

"Well, thank you kindly." Dash said with a grin before refilling his glass. "Name's Dash Aandek."

Dash thoughtfully sipped his drink.

"If you don't mind me askin', what do you have a bounty on you for?" He asked in a hushed tone. "You hardly seem the hardened criminal."

He glanced to the doorway.

"Those bucket heads ain't gonna give up easily, either. They must've seen you come in here. They'll probably be waiting outside."

"Your welcome." she replied to him with a small smile. When he introduced himself she nodded her head slightly. "Well, it's a pleasure to meet you. I don't meet many people like you very often." she said.

When he asked what they had a bounty on her head for, she looked around quickly to make sure no one else was listening in on their conversation. "I may not look like a criminal, but the Empire are searching for the last of my family and the Jedi. I've been rebelling against the Empire since I could first talk. You probably know that the Jedi are few. My father was a Jedi and the force was passed to me. The thing is, I haven't been able to train due to me being the princess. My father taught me survival skills, but other than that, princesses are forbidden to train in the ways of the Jedi." she explained whispering slightly.

She looked to the door again after he said they'd probably be waiting and she nodded looking back to him. "I wouldn't be surprised..." she said unfortunately.

"I don't meet many people like you very often."

"I'll bet. Chumps from Nar Shaddaa probably don't rub shoulders with the upper crust very often."

Upon hearing Arwen's tale, Dash hung his head.

"A rebel and a Jedi..." Dash sighed. "Bit too exciting for my blood. I'll stick to swoop racing. At least I can see what's trying to kill me then."

Dash glanced around, just now realizing he was sitting and shooting the breeze with a wanted criminal. No matter how sorry the situation may be, Dash wasn't the type to let himself be dragged into other people's conflicts if he could help it. But judging by the stares and murmurs of the other patrons, he was already in over his head.

"Well, this has been nice, but uh... I'm gonna split before I end up on a most wanted list too. No offense."
Dash said, going to stand up. "I'm sure those storm troopers'll... y'know; leave before long..."

Arwen giggled hearing what he said.

When she saw him hang his head, Arwen was curious of what he was going to say. And he said what she expected. She was slightly offended hearing what he said about sticking to his racing. She noticed him looking around seeing the others whispering about them and everything else. Her eyes narrowed seeing this and she stood up with a confident look plastered on her face.

"I get it. You don't want to be caught with the Princess because there are laws against it. You also don't want to get caught by the Empire for being with a rebel and a Jedi. Good luck with the racing." her eyes were firmly locked with his until she turned going to the bar. Eyes followed her as people bowed their heads seeing their princess walk past them. She looked to the bartender and asked to use the back door. He took her through the kitchen, leading her to the back door and wishing her luck.

Little would she know, a new surprise would be waiting for her outside...

Dash kept his head down as he walked out of the bar, even though there was clearly people watching him leave. He stepped through the door, and began to circle around to the back of the bar, where his Mobquet S was waiting for the quick ride to the star port. After what just happened, Dash figured it'd be best to get off planet ASAP.

"You there! Freeze!"
Dash heard a static-filled voice call. Dash stopped for a split-second, before rushing off, deciding he'd rather run and and get the hell off-world rather than submit to Imperial Inquisition. He ducked around the corner, and hopped onto his swoop; quickly snatching up his goggles and strapping them on before hitting the ignition. The Mobquet chugged and sputtered, but didn't start.

"Oh for fierfek's sake... why did I have to mess with the fuel intake?!" Dash blurted out. He looked over to see three storm troopers burst into the back alley, and aim at him.

"H-h-hey fellas.... let's not be hasty... this is all just a... misunderstanding..." He stammered. The troopers began to walk towards him, but instead passed Dash upon seeing Arwen just behind him. Dash took the opportunity to get his swoop started, and was about to leave, but he suddenly felt a pang of guilt upon leading the troopers to Arwen.

Arwen had just went out the door and started walking until she saw a speeder just up ahead... and Dash. She froze upon seeing him and noticed that he was having trouble getting the ignition started. She then noticed troopers and her eyes widened in fear as she saw them first start walking towards Dash, but they turned direction quickly and started going after her. "Oh shit!" she said before turning tail and started running. Unluckily this time, she didn't have a plan in her mind and a trooper grabbed her putting her in a choke hold. She hoped luck would help her...

A plan finally popped into her head and she immediately used the troopers arm around her neck to kick the trooper across from her in the chest and then she flipped the trooper behind her, over her head. But by then, four troopers surrounded her. She tried to fight, but three of them grabbed her and another held her at gunpoint calling for a transport. She struggled to get away. "Let me the hell go!!!"

Why do I have to have a conscience?
Dash thought to himself, as he swung his swoop around. He tweaked the throttle for a short burst toward the troopers; positioning himself behind them, just before twisting the throttle violently, and leaning hard: sending the swoop into a hard drift; the extended front sweeping the legs of the troopers. Before they could recover, he drew his blaster, and shot two of them on the ground; but missed the third.

"I already regret this!" Dash shouted to no one in particular.

[OOC: Thanks for letting me join! If you want to read my characters backstory check out his thread in the character profile thread labeled "My Two New Characters, REVISED"]

Haector stepped off the ramp of his ship as the hiss of the brake exhausts sprayed mist around him. The tall Twi'lek shoulderd a pack and headed out of the hanger bay into the streets of the city.
Naboo, a much prettier planet than his home on Taris. People milled about the streets in groups, happily carrying idle conversations. A pair of shady looking todos a were being hustled by a squad of stormtroopers. But that was not the reason Haector was here. He flipped through his data pad to a screen with the iMace of a young princess with a huge bounty labeled underneath. The details of her crime were listed only vaguely, but Haector did t care about the details as long as he got paid. He took a look at a local map, then headed to the first place he always went on a mission, the cantina.
Haector began whistling lightly as he estimated how long it would take to capture this bounty. He had just finished with a estimate of two days when he heard so shouting in the alley near the cantina. He got closer and saw a group of troopers attempting to restrain a young girl. Haector zoomed his HUD in on the girl and smiled to himself, "well ain't this my lucky day?"
He said with a smirk. It was the princess. The girl struggled to break free but could not. Just then a swoop came sweeping in and a volley of blaster fire errupted nearby and two of the troopers went down. A male voice shouted "I already regret this!" a Haector rolled behind some barrels and poked his head out to see what happened next...

Arwen still struggled as Dash swung his speeder around taking out two of the troopers. The ones that were holding onto her, pulled her back to avoid getting hit. At this point she had started struggling to the point where they almost couldn't handle her, so they injected a needle into her skin, which knocked her out. She fell limp in the troopers' arms and they were now trying to find a way to get Arwen to their transport.

The last thing she saw was Dash knocking troopers over and seeing a bounty hunter near by.

[I'm going to assume the troopers injected her before I knocked them down. There were only three of them.]

Dash looked down at the unconscious woman lying on the ground.

"Ah crap... why do I have to get myself into these messes?" Dash muttered. "What to do, what to do..."

This could easily be misconstrued; a ratty looking off-worlder hauling around an unconscious princess? At least? Scandalous. At worst? Possibly worth execution. But if he left her there, the Imperials would show up before long, and everything he'd just done would be pointless; and worth the attention of the Empire. Either way, he'd just jumped head first into trouble. Dash stepped off of his swoop bike, and leaned down to hoist the princess up; before gently laying her across the back of the Mobquet S; being careful not to put her in a position to slide off, get burned by the exhaust, or caught in the intake.

"What in the hell am I doing?"
Dash muttered; climbing back onto his swoop; unaware he was being watched.

One of the troopers were notified by his buddies that Dash was taking the princess back. "Hey.. Wait! Sir-" it was too late for them. Dash had already gotten Arwen and placed her on his bike.

Now the only thing to watch for, was the bounty hunter...

Haector watched as the man on the swoop bent down. And picked up the princess from the pile of troopers. "What the Kriff is this? A rescue? An abduction?" He thought to himself as smoke from the blaster holes in the stormtroopers began to fill the air. Whatever it was, This was gonna be HIS bounty.
The Twi'lek pressed a button on his gauntlet, stepped up, and launched a cloud of projectiles (tracking darts) at the swoop bike...

Dash heard a faint metal ping over the sound of his Mobquet S' engines.

Please don't let that have been the fuel intake again... He hoped silently, as he eased on the throttle, making for the spaceport in all haste. With Dash at the handle; he made it there in no time at all; although he broke quite a few traffic laws along the way. He maneuvered his swoop through the space port, to hanger 4, where his ship was waiting.

Document0001.jpg

Dash's ship was an nearly ancient HWK-290; personally refit to modern standards. Most of the cargo hold had been converted into a mobile garage for his swoop; with a small cot for him to sleep in, and an even smaller kitchen area; really just a refresher and an icebox. He brought his Mobquet into the cargo bay, and eased it over it's moorings. He gently helped the unconscious Arwen off of the bike, and lay her on the cot, before rushing to get the loading ramp closed, and hooking his Swoop in for take off.

Haector watched as the swoop sped off down the street. He checked his gauntlet which showed a steady red blip heading towards the space docks. He glanced around and cursed silently, there were no nearby vehicles to give chase. He shrugged and started walking towards an open field, tapping commands into the touch screen as he went. His ship, The Bad Taste, activated it's autopilot function and took off towards the Twi'leks location. Haector wouldn't catch them before they reached their ship, but he didn't need too.
His ship rushed in and hovered near the clearing. Haector jumped in, and The Bad Taste took off towards the space port...

Arwen was seeing small clips of her past for some reason. She saw her mother's death when she was three, her fifth birthday party, another party her father threw for the towns people when she was seven, her home being attacked when she was nine and rebuilt when she was ten, her father's death when she was twelve, a ball when she met her first crush when she was thirteen, her sixteenth birthday dancing with her boyfriend, her boyfriend breaking up with her when she was seventeen which completely broke her heart for months, a battle where she almost lost her own life fighting for her town when she was nineteen, and then everything that had happened today until she was knocked by the stormtroopers. Why she saw these visions or dreams, she didn't know, but they were small clips of her life up to then.

Arwen finally started breathing again and she slowly awoke to find herself in a place she didn't recognize. The inside of her arm throbbed where the needle was stuck into her on the inside of her elbow. She turned over on her side and opened her eyes slowly, the light of the room seemingly blinding her as she blinked a few times to get her eyes used to the lighting. She then looked to her arm to see a big bruise on the crease of her elbow. She winced slightly as she put her other hand on it as it throbbed. She then decided she would look to see where she was and she propped herself up the best she could in the cot she was in. She didn't even realize she was on a cot until she sat up. She looked around for a second seeing the surroundings, before laying back down feeling exhausted for some reason. So she fell asleep. Where ever she was, which she didn't exactly know yet, she was happy it wasn't with the Empire and she could tell it wasn't.

Sitting in the pilot's seat of the Eagle's Talon, Dash fired up her engines, and prepared for flight as he waited for clearance to take off. Luckily; the Empire had no reason to bother him personally, so he'd be able to slip out of the system with no problems.

Okay... let's look at facts. We've got to get off world before the Empire shut down the hyperspace lanes out of the system, and start checking people's ships. Arwen is a wanted "criminal" of the Empire, and a bloody Jedi to boot. So no matter what, they're going to be looking for her. Well... Nar Shaddaa's as good a place as any to hide. Been a while since I'd been there anyway.

"Hanger 4, You are cleared for take-off." A voice said over the comms. "Have a safe flight."

Dash eased the ship up, and broke for orbit slowly and calmly. No one could possibly have a reason to stop him, nor could they know where he was going.

Right?

The twi'lek watched as his preys ship left the atmosphere of the planet. He smiled to himself. No matter how hard you tried, you never got a step ahead of Haector. He flipped a switch above him, bringing power back online, then activating his sunlight engines. He was within range in seconds. Haector switched on the targeting computer to which gained a lock on the ships shield generator and hyperdrive in seconds which would leave the ship crippled but relatively undamaged. Although his prey would have picked up on the targeting computer, it would surely be to late. He sighed, then steadied himself as the first red bolts from the auto laser canon streaked out towards the hunted...
