- The City of the Dead
-- Mission Pack : The Sins of the Flesh
-- While on a supply run, an Initiative Monk received an automated distress signal from one of their old Monasteries still held by radical elements. The site holds significant religious value to the Initiative, and the assignment has been approved by the council. However, this mission is only available to Grade 3 or higher members of any group due to the risk of operating without proper intelligence in a possible enemy compound. There will be JAG oversight.
-- This mission-chain is inspired by the Lovecraft Mythos. The monastery in question has been ripped apart by cyberbeast horrors, and most it's members have been killed or turned mad. This mission will have heavy GM involvement as they will describe the mind-altering effects for the participants. It is intended to be a fairly difficult assignment, and will have several parts. The first will be their arrival and the discovery of the terrors as they move deep into the temple. The second will be an attempt to arm the defenses located around the base, which is doomed to failure, as well as learning (that the horrors where caused by a creature living in the planet’s ocean). The third and final part will be an escape from the Monastery to orbiting ships. The CyberCthulu monster will emerge from the depths, disturbed by their intrusion, and attempt to kill the party members. If they manage to get to the ships, the creature will be bombarded from orbit, and killed.
-- The mission-chain will reward the players each with credits, substantial loyalty for the Initiative, and technology found within the Monastery.
-- The mission-chain will reward the Accord a possible new base, additional missions on the planet, and additional missions revolving around technology found there.
-- Additional Missions may include: Diving beneath the ocean to investigate the creature, attempts to reverse engineer technology found within the Monastery, clearing out the lower levels infested with creatures, repairing the area, and scouring the planet for more Cthulu creatures.
