It's pretty apparent that the Republic needs a small nudge on the activity front. It's no surprise that we're the underdogs, given that non-Force sensitive driven factions have never been comparatively popular here (if you're not Mandalorian) Still, not everybody wants to run around with a glowstick, myself included. There's a war going on and not an awful lot of blaster rifles being fired or thermal detonators being flung which is a damn shame.

"But Cal, why are you posting this now?" Well, because Rogue One just came out and it seems as good a time as any to take advantage of people's disposition towards non-Force user soldiers and dammit I want some more military arrpee.

So with that in mind... activity breeds activity, it's something of a self-fulfilling prophecy right? GAR is currently sitting on three mission packs that are months old and after scouring through the sign-up's and threads it seems like just about none of them actually get completed, assuming any of them are started at all. I don't know about you lot, but seeing a whopping great [GAR Mission] label screams "look guys, we're active, come make awesome non-FS characters who beat and shoot people and look awesome doing it". As much as I enjoy posting back and forth with Livu, expanding horizons (well, players) never hurt either.

SO, was there a point to this ramble? Yes. Let's try and get some Mission Packs cleared away. The sooner we do that- well, the board will look a whole look fancier for it (neater anyway). Obviously nobody can be dragged kicking and screaming into arrpee, heaven forbid it turned into an obligation but it would be nice to get into some of it with fellow GAR members. Myself and Livu are a couple of posts or so away from completing our current Operation Phoenix mission. One down, three to go. Easy right? Let's focus on these one Pack at a time because consistency satisfies my OCD, of course there may be no 'hooks' in there that interest you but that's something that can be discussed openly I'm sure. I'm willing to pull NPC duty on these if people want, or contribute Skahl, I'm not picky.

EDIT: Apparently they older ones are getting archived soon. Still, let's get into the new(er) ones running.

I'm also going to see about the creation of an Open/Social thread. Whether that takes the form of more relaxed training/sparring or something like shore leave/downtime aboard a vessel. Or both, albeit separate. Take your pick really. 'Indies' seem to be good at that whole social thing, so why can't the soldiers one up those indecisive sods eh?

Thank you for the heads up, Calixis. I can assure you, Kraijn, Fyremage and myself are hard at work to create interesting story content, hooks and activity for the Republic.

That being said, any participation from members is appreciated, and even encouraged! If you have any ideas, in the form of PvP, Social threads or simply content in general, please feel free to show your ideas anyway you like. Of course adhering site rules. If you need any help, permission or anything for the leadership, feel free to contact any of us.

Now Calixis, any ideas how your roleplay will work out?

I realise that the thread reads as a bit blunt and may seem like I'm jumping the blaster a bit, but after watching the Stormtrooper Corps stay in a barely active purgatory last timeline I just don't want to sit and watch another military faction wither. GAR's about the only (sub-)faction that interests me, thus these annoying "ugh why won't Cal shut up" threads/posts.

Of course adhering site rules.

Now Calixis, any ideas how your roleplay will work out?

Well, I doubt filling several capital ships full of explosives and ramming them at Korriban and Zoist would be approved, so.

Frankly, it was nothing major. I've had two thread ideas in mind and neither of them are especially controversial or ground breaking. I know we're pretty decent on activity on the PvP front if looking at Story section is anything to go by so with that in mind, I was going to whip up an [Open] thread that led into sparring practice between GAR characters, whether that's some people actually training, some just being more social, whatever. The second was very much social-focused. A cantina whilst there's shore leave, mess aboard a vessel, whatever. As not to overwhelm people I'd probably post the two at separate days, when one thread has been finished most likely.

Another concept I had in mind was for [Cool Name Here] Squad. I've got a work-in-progress concept for it I can post up, but put more simply it's about organising - voluntarily if people want to OOC sign up - GAR characters into an organised squad/fire team. They'd be operating as they do now, the only major difference is that the squad would be... well, they'd be part of the same squad, 'on and off-screen', but still with all the freedoms to be undertaking assignments solo, in pairs, or what have you. The Jedi have their SAD, Sith have that SIN... thing, so I figured anything to draw characters closer together - new and old - couldn't hurt. Plus, y'know, military thematics.

Has a social thread been created cause I'd love to participate! :D I recon that would be good for newest members as well. A training one would be great for my character too since she had no prior combat experience or training other than being a mechanic xD I was scouring the forums lately for anything I can start doing to help with the activity in the republic forums so if there is anything I can do to help let me know!
