This is not an RP thread.

For some time now resentment, deep and ingrained, has been brewing among the normally peaceful citizens of Alderaan. Spurred by a fringe Force-Users group, the rebellion against offensive implementation of the Force has gathered steam and, most concerning, resources. At the behest of these previously unknown monks, the population of Alderaan, particularly the pacifist Caamasi (the latter through political negotiation) have formed a movement seeking the expulsion of the Jedi from Alderaan.

Knowing the importance of the Jedi presence on Alderaan, having seen a future where the monks turn against their own doctrine and turn to aggressive use of the Force and eventually the Dark Side, Master of the Alderaan Order, Seamus Moidin has begun organizing his order to take action against both the political resistance and the more violent civilian rebellion.

Unable to receive assistance from the rest of the Jedi Order due to a decision by the Jedi Grand Council that the Alderaan issues would be handled by local Jedi; the Alderaainan Jedi are now facing a desperate battle for their own survival as well as the continuation of the peace long provided to the planet by the Jedi. Disturbed by the sudden, vehement resistance of the civilians, Master Moidin has created his own Council on Alderaan to guide and lead the Jedi in this time of crisis.

Important OOC Notes:

  • This thread will be used to request the ability to RP a baddie in this plot. Baddies are open to anyone to play. Sign up in the Alderaan Sign up thread for them and I will choose who to RP them. Once chosen make a character profile, but be prepared for them not to survive.
  • This is also an information request thread, so if you have any questions concerning the plot, post them here.
  • This plot will be conducted through the use of multiple threads, however, the action will begin only after a meeting of Seamus' secondary council and a meeting of the Alderaainan Jedi which will begin soon. Those RPs should be followed as more information will be revealed there.
  • All threads pertaining to the plot should be tagged [Plot] to keep them organized.
  • The baddies are a mixture of humans and wayward Camassi.
  • Random Alderaan citizen characters may be RPed as NPCs as long as you ask me first.
  • Expect a detailed breakdown of the various mission threads in the coming days before the two major RPs are over.
  • I'll update as we go along.

Aevis Santoro can't hold an official rank in the Order, but this would be something he'd be interested in.

While the concept is interesting, this should be brought to discussion in the Hall of Leaders, with the Staff, and with Sreeya before it goes forward. Please hold off on this until an in-depth discussion has been conducted.

can nothing be done just to stimulate one part of the jedi?

I ran this by Sreeya, and she approved it. This really isn't a hall 'o leaders thing.

I moved it here, but I still don't think this is big enough in scope to require the Hall of Leaders and all the admins and all the faction leaders to be brought into.

If the concern is that Alderaan is blockaded by whatever, I simply said that so that there would be a reason why Alderaanian Jedi were handling this alone. I don't want this to turn into a massive board wide plot thing. Essentially this is going to comprise of a series of missions for people to do around Alderaan while others write NPC baddies opposite them. It has already been Srreya approved.

le sigh.

Anything that affects a planet on a large scale generally needs to be green-lighted by both the staff and whatever faction leader(s) the planet is affiliated with. An Anti-Jedi rebellion definitely qualifies as a large scale. Toss in a blockade, and the scale is huge. So yeah, go post this in the hall of leaders pl0x.

The blockade was a device. Not something that will actually be written.

Why is this stickied? There's absolutely no reason for it to be.

Just noticed this now, I'll read today to see if it needs approval.

Why is this stickied? There's absolutely no reason for it to be.

Lucid is under the naive notion that stickies actually stand out to people rather than get skipped over as if they're a rules thread.

The boy will never learn, tsk tsk

If nobody has any comments then I'm just going to run with this...it's not all that much to look over.

Finals. Christmas. You know, RL. ;)

My only issue is the blockade. You may not want it to turn into a big plot, but Alderaan is a MAJOR planet in the Republic. The Republic wouldn't let a few monks blockade a planet like this. We're talking about Alderaan, not Naboo. If the planet was blockaded, the Republic would send in ships to blow the monks out of the sky.

The rest of the plot is fine and I think it's a great idea.

It doesn't need a blockade, because you don't need a reason to physically prevent Jedi reinforcements from arriving on the planet. There would be hundreds of Jedi on Alderaan, and the Jedi High Council can't do EVERYTHING, so it makes sense that the High Council would see this as a local matter that can be handled by the local Jedi.

P.S.
Don't kill Alderaanian civilians, because then it's impossible for it to NOT become a board-wide plot. Considering it's only been an IC year or so since the Republic saw former Jedi march into the capital and destroy the Jedi Order, there would be a public outcry if Jedi started killing civilians - regardless of the reason.

OH, that's right, you go to freak school with finals up to christmas eve. Aw well, I'm sorry. I'll axe the blockade. I just wanted to keep it to local jedi to stimulate the Alderaan area.

Thanks for the review!

Continuing with this means I have to write...and I haven't been doing that recently.
