THREAD PREFIX: Fanon
NAME: Amaman
COORDINATES: M-3

HYPERLANE: Amana isn’t on a hypespace lane but it is just off of the Veragi Trade Route.

CLIMATE:
Global: Amana is a lush green world covered in lots of vegetation but if you looked at the climate you wouldn’t think it’d be, Amana gets little to no precipitation therefore how does it stay green you ask? Within the crust there are many underground lakes and springs and the flora of Amana have spongelike roots that penetrate deep into the soil to reach the aquifers, because of the scarcity of water most plants stockpile access water within themselves, usually in hollow tubes in the centre of the plants, most surface animals get the water they need by eating sed parts of the plant or absorbing water vapour in the air.
-Cold Climates:
The colder parts of the planet are mostly dominated by grasslands but the colder climates also house all of the worlds forests, the colder parts are prone to high winds and the it can get very cold in the winter especially around the poles. (-40C/F)
-Tropic Climates:
The warmer parts of Amana harbour different types of grasses, these grasses are much more drought resistant for the hotter parts of the world are much more prone to droughts due to their being fewer aquifers closer to the equator, in fact the all of the semi-arid dessert regions of the planet lay across the equator.
TERRAIN: As mentioned before the world is incredibly flat there are very few mountains, it has no real oceans except a bizarre exception, It’s mostly grassland, hotter at the equator and colder near the poles where the occasional forest could be seen, scattered throughout the world are a collection of large eery abandoned cites, all of which preserved in there original design as if people were just striped away from their homes, kettles still filled with water, toys still laying about except now also covered in overgrown flora, these have become havens for the animals that inhabit Amana.

-Notable Geographical Locations:
The Great Salt Flat:
48638741_p0_zpsx0mfjywi.jpg
The Great Salt Flat is a bizarre geographical phenomenon, it is a 12 million square kilometre white flat basin, half the year its a dry white wasteland the other half its a giant salt water lake (For a real life comparison look at this this link which leads to the Salar De Uyuni), this formation takes up a very large portion of the world covering 20% with one smaller salt flat making up the other 2% of salt flat. To this day the great salt flats remains a important sacred part if the world where in ancient times the Amanai would pray for days on end, even now the salt flat is very intone with the light side of the force.

The Silgul Forest:

The Silgul is a bizarre forest that grows all along the west side of the great salt flat, this forest features unique trees similar to mangrove trees. Before the mass deportation this was a very popular tourist sight.

The Mortokai Ice Cave:
Glacier_pond_in_the_glacier_cave_underneath_the_Nigardsbreen,_Jostedalsbreen,_Norway.jpg
This ice cave near the north pole was once one of the many underground aquifers but this one ifs very special since it’s accessible through the surface and that all the water has dried up or turned into solid ice, there are bound to be more of these near the pole but this ones the most well known, rumour has it it’s currently being used as underground horde for a local warlord.

Amazing Stargazing:
ocean__sky__stars__and_you_by_muddymelly-d4bg1ub_1518582880.png
One of the only things Amana is really know for anymore is it’s star gazing, due to its lack of light pollution, distance from the core and crystal clear skys it’s renowned for its star gazing in fact if you come in the pursuit of astronomy you are able to get temporary passports to Amana if that is your only intent.

-Other Notable Locations:

Gafra:
new_york_ruins_by_jonasdero-d35covg.jpg
Gafra was the old capital of Amana, it once housed about 30% of the population *About 30 million* making it once the biggest city, during the war it was the centre of conflict there making it the most destroyed city but also the most preserved part of the world from the war, among the worlds new inhabitants a few hard individuals dare live on the outskirts but very few people would ever step foot near the city and definitely not the city centre for it’s believed to be haunted by those who list their lives in the war, even the most ruthless warlord dare at least nod their heads in respect to Gafra and would never step within.
Narhji:
the_core.jpg
Narhji was the second biggest city on Amana at the end of the world, a much more rural city where many of the poorer individuals lived, this city is where the movement against the government began through peaceful protest now the city lays silent, unlike Gafra Narhji is quite inhabited by the new owners who scoured out houses within the city to make their own. Althoguh Narhji was much smaller Gafra nowadays it’s much more notable due to the large structure built around the city called the construct.

The Construct:
16983806_p0_zpsqifzlbeb.png
The Construct is a very interesting structure built over and around the skies of Narhji, The Construct was originally a large military base and defence system of the world of Amana, during the war it was used as a check point for bombing runs and over the fifty years there were many battles over ownership of the large structure. After the deportation the structure was reused as a planetary atmosphere scanner to check who was entering and leaving the system for the only people who should be allowed to enter or leave are local residents, individuals with temporary proper clearance (Astronomers as mentioned before), republic officials, the galactic authority and Jedi, if anybody who isn’t any of these things leaves or enters it will immediately get reported to the galactic authority, the new locals don’t really have a problem with the structure rather see it as a symbol of national pride in a way.

Tin Town:
normal_concept04.jpg
Tin Town is the current capital of Amana and one of the worlds biggest cites, not existing until they started letting refugees on Amana Tin Town was quickly formed by a community of refugees and grew exponentially making it one of centres of culture in the world.

Ascelier:
Black-Forest-Town.jpg
Ascelier is a smaller humble town built out of a town built prior to the war located in one of the worlds many scattered forests, this town is a centre of commerce thanks to its location connection many of the current populated towns on Amana.

ROTATION: Amana’s rotation is rather slow, each rotation is about 96 earth hours.

INHABITANTS: Amana was once vastly inhabited by a sentient race the Amanai (Ah-men-eye), the Amanai had ~1 Billion individuals at their peak, but as you’ll find out later on the planet now only has a population of around 1 million individuals.

RESOUCRES:
Amana has little to no resources, in the past there had been mining operations but they were all mining individual veins which inly produced resources for a year or so before running dry, the only resource they have would be some rare herbs for ancient medical practices.

GOVERNMENT:
Amana no longer has a government rather it’s an anarchy where rules are inforced by local leaders depending on the area, but it wasn’t always this way, until about a hundred years ago the world was a thriving independent system run under a single party system. Since the fall of the system and mass decolonization the planet has been made a galactic heritage site by the senate and protecting from anybody or anything that wishes to extorted it’s resources in any way shape or form.

HISTORY:
-Early History: The people of Amanai were a humble people renowned for there level heads and peaceful ideals, the Amanai were a proud and spiritual species with much of their history devoted to religion but in time the image of who they were may have stuck but the atmosphere amongst the people of the world did not.

-Pre-War History:
The Amanai grew bitter of the way they were run, one party staying in power forever didn’t sit well with the general public, the one party system was deeply rooted in their religion but in time the Amanai general public no longer held the religious ideal as close to them as before, rather they began to notice many of the injustices on their world, many individuals in the lower class were denied many basic necessities, clean water, food, jobs, meanwhile the government and the upperclass lived like kings, this outrage sparked a brutal civil war and bloody coup where the low income majority overthrew the government, the coup itself went well and everybody rejoiced afterwards but they had a even bigger problem ahead them, the didn’t know who should rule know, the day following the coup instead of peace the civil war raged on but this time instead of in an effort to over throw those in power it was now about seizing power, this incredibly bloody conflict waged on for fifty years causing many people to either leave, be exiled or be killed in bombings or crossfire between waring factions, in the fifty years the population was reduced to 30 million from 1 billion. This continued on until the point where people were growing tired, old, sick and had forgotten what they were fighting for. Of these people living during this time a mere child came forward, a child who’d endured the war crimes of his country throughout his entire lifetime, a child who's name is know by all Amanai nowadays. during a brief ceasefire the child met with each waring faction leader and somehow managed to make an agreement with all of them individually. The child went to the senate floor with the aid of the faction leaders to put the “Amanai Deportation Act” which was a law exiling the intire population of Amana from the world, the child had in away touched the faction leaders hearts and reminded of their nature and peaceful roots, the child told them that if they really cared about Amana they’d have to let it go and find a new place to live because the travesties preformed on the soil of Amana were to shameful for them to go back at that point, the bill was passed creating a mandatory deportation of citizens of Amana except a small minority who never got involved in the war and for the entire length of it opposed it and and hid from the city dwellers, the faction leader realized the all along this groups philosophy on the war was always correct and the deserved the right to remain on the world they actually cared for, these spiritualists were welcome to stay, also within the act it was written that Amana may be used as a place to put refugees as long as they have come to seek peace and not damage the world.

-Post-War History/Modern Culture:
The world today is vast and empty but people still live in small self governed communities of many assortments of species with a population of around one million, the world itself is very sombre and quiet you will very rarely hear anything about it, most people don’t even know it exists, despite the plan for the world after the Amanai Deportation Act the world down below isn’t that stable at all, many Amanai hid during the mass deportation and continue to live on the world, meanwhile others snuck onto the planet afterwards, these were mostly the more stubborn individuals who didn’t believe that the war should of ended, another problem is with refugees being placed on Amana sometimes brought their troubles along with them, as mentioned before the planet is now governed in smaller communities but unfortunately many of those governors are more like warlords oppressing people within their territory of resources for their own personal gain.

CULTURE:
-Old Culture:
Long before the war Amana was a very peaceful world rich with culture even after the deportation if you explore the open expanses of the world you’re bound to find an ancient structure of some kind or a ancient tapestry, as the locals became more advanced and no longer wanderers on Amana many of the relic from their past lives are still preserved scattered around the world, the architecture of their early days was very tribal and simplistic with a hint of norse.

-Pre-war/wartime Culture:
As the Amanai grew more advanced they abandoned their tribal roots in favour of technology and simplicity, before and during the war most architecture was very bland and incredibly similar to the common style of most of the galaxy.

TECHNOLOGY: The technology of this world back in the day before the deportation was quite advanced, yes the world would get many of the latest gadgets a few years later but they were pretty up to date, nowadays the world has taken many steps back using very old and primitive tech since it’s hard to get tech into the world, most of the current population is very poor and has nowhere else to go or the individual doesn’t believe in technology.

SATELLITES/LOCAL AREA:
Amana%20System_zpswodyvqyu.png
Amana is the second planet of three circling the star Amadarait the other two being a large gas giant named Afra near the sun which rains molten hot iron and is too hostile to live on, the other is another rocky world also in the goldy locks zone called Speclus Grotto, only difference being Speclus is much colder. Amana also has two small moons named Phoebe and Filos which are more like astroids caught in its orbit, they’re both nowhere near round, along with this Amana has many man-made satellites which also orbit none except one still function, all the old ones of the old inhabitants have long since been abandoned and many of them slowly over time have been ripped apart by space junk collectors.

INTENTS: The world has many smaller purposes which roll up into one really cool planet in my opinion. For one, this world has a major intent to be very pretty and cinematic as can hopefully be seen throguht the pictures I’ve chosen to represent the world. Second, I tried to make the focus of this world atmosphere see atmosphere being sombre sad and hopeless, a world who lost everything and a people group that lost a home now inhabited by people who they as well have lost a home, there is a good amount of potential in relief missions, missions for finding hiding criminals on the world and/or missions trying to bring down a warlord on the world. Lastly, this planet is going to play a huge part in characters story but I like to believe that's not why I made this planet, I can only hope it becomes important to other peoples stories as well.

*Note worthy in the future I intend to make a species submission for the Amanai but I still need to work on that.*

Hey! Just letting you know, once your planet is accepted, it becomes free to use for any other roleplayer. So you can't really tell people of they can or cannot use it.

Mostly, i'm just not really sure what sets this planet apart from other planets. I mean, why not just use a planet that exists in Canon?

You do bring a good point but I like to believe it is different, Honestly I created Amana mainly in the intent to satisfy my love for geography and politics to create something I deem beautiful, complex and useful as well. I do believe it stands out from other planets mainly though it's location in the galaxy being very empty, it's for what I believe unique geographical features and interesting backstory in my eyes. Once again you do make a point, I will look into it, I just don't want it to differ too much of what I saw for it.
