Andariel is the Black Widow of the Clan Drulii, which is a family of Humans with a darker skin texture. Clan Drulii, a member of the Twelve Families of Myrkr, is based on Myrkr in the Inner Rim Territories. Andariel is the Black Widow, the oldest female and matron of the clan. One becomes head of the clan when the oldest female has produced twenty children, then kills her mate. It is a tradition amongst the Drulii dating older than the Galactic Republic itself. Once the Black Widow of the Clan dies, the oldest female child mates with her husband until she produces twenty children, and then she proceeds to kill her husband. This practice is used to ensure the clan is run by a female, with no direct male influence in leadership.
Andariel has attempted to make Clan Drulii less primitive by utilizing technology, as her mother did before her. The family has members who are able to utilize the power of the Force, though no member of the family as been a member of the Jedi or any other sort, there are members of the family who have ventured out into the cosmos and came across planets were a bender of the Force who saw potential in them, taught them how to use the Force to their will. Andariel is able to use the Force, though her skill is comparable to a mere Jedi Knight of the Order of the Jedi. Since the beginning of the Alsakan Crisis, the stance of Clan Drulii is generally neutral, though the family possesses a small fleet of ships outfitted with weaponry, as other clans on Myrkr do as well.
Andariel's chief rival clan, is Clan Beoad. Their Black Widow, Karasi, has been in a feud with Andariel since Andariel ascended to the head of Clan Drulii. Many times Karasi has sent assassins to kill Andariel, and all have failed and the assassins caught were brutally punished. The feud has even esculated to battles with their fleets, resulting in damages and casualties to both sides, though they are small enough to be considered minor skirmishes. Andariel seeks to kill Karasi, to expand Clan Drulii. If a Black Widow's clan manages to kill the Black Widow of another clan, the clan who lost a Black Widow must join with the victor's clan by honor and respect. Those who do not are outcasted from the entire society.
Currently, Andariel seeks an alliance with the Alsakan Union, if they can aid the Drulii in taking complete control of Myrkr and killing off the Black Widows of the ten other clans. Some within Drulii see this as a weak position to Andariel, but Andariel sees this an oppurtunity to expand their clan and enter the galactic stage. She is currently seeking to contact the Alsakans and arrange a meeting with an Alsakan emissary as quickly as possible.
