Hi there everyone. I'm Richter Ahvo. This isn't my actual name, just one I picked out of my head.

As you can tell I'm obviously a Star Wars fan and I wanted to get into online roleplay. Then I stumbled upon this site and I felt I could be a part of a community that is really creative, independent, and hospitable. But now since I'm here I really don't know where to start and I've come to generate a few questions that I hope you guys can answer for me.

1. Is the Sith Brotherhood like the Sith Empire? Meaning does the Sith Brotherhood have a military force such as the Imperial Military or does it consist entirely of Sith?

2. I want to create a character but how do I make his/her's allegiance official?

3. As a newbie, on which roleplaying thread do I start on? Open, Ask, or Main-Thread?

4. How long does a timeline normally last?

5. How should I go about jumping into threads with my character?

6. What is the maximum amount of characters I can possess?

7. Can characters change their allegiance?

8. What's the amount of vacation time I can take from roleplay if I'm already part of a thread?

9. What famous icons have you seen portray the characters that people have created?

10. Do roleplay threads end when the timeline ends or do they end independently?

Anyway thanks to you all for taking the time to check me out and I look forward to having a fun time with you all. if in any case I don't reply to you, thank you for giving me your warm welcoming and for answering my questions.

May The Force Be With You,

Richter

Welcome. Explore, ask at least 12 questions, and verily enjoy your stay. :D

Also,

1. You'd have to ask the Sith Faction. But I'm sure there is a write up in their Public Archives that explains this.

2. After creating a Sub-Account and a public Character Profile to match, you apply with that profile in your respective Faction on their Sign Up page.

3. Any. You create your own character's personal story by writing in any thread, at any time. Building your own 'canon', 'timeline', and sequential adventure; one thread at a time. However, should your character die in a previous thread while you are pursuing a later one? Everyone will frown at you. Lulz.

4. I think a year or two? idk.

5. Open threads are Open for participation. Ask Threads require you to coordinate with the players already involved. Otherwise your Faction Leaders will point you towards missions they want your character to pursue.

6. I will find this rule and link it here eventually. Lol. (<-- Character Creation. Mark A.)

7. Yes.

8. Any. How you coordinate your roleplaying time and activity is based on a thread-to-thread bases with the other writers involved. If you tell them that you're only going to reply on Fridays. Then only reply on Fridays. That's your schedule and everybody will be cool with it if you tell them it ASAP.

9. What?

10. Independently. Your schedule. Your way. Team sport son! :D

Welcome to SWRP!

Nice to meet you, Richter. Now, even though Jessica already answered your questions like a pro, rather than selectively pick out and answer the more ambiguous answers, I'm just going to answer all of them because... ORGANIZATION!

1. The Sith Brotherhood is not necessarily the Sith Empire, even though it's based a hundred years after it's demise. However, there are two specified sections of the Brotherhood: the Lords of the Sith, and the Sacred Band of Ziost. Lords of the Sith are essentially those glowstick-wielding dweebs who can move stuff with their mind, and the Sacred Band of Ziost (SBZ) are just those dweebs who can shoot 'n stuff. Like the Imperial Military, but it sounds a hundred times cooler.

2. When you set up a character profile here, also by using this template, you can set a prefix denoting whether they'll be Sith, Jedi, Republic, or Independent. After doing so, you can sign up your character (Jedi, Sith, Republic) and wait for them to be approved by the faction leadership. After that, you can role-play! If they're independent, then you don't have to worry about anything as long as you adhered to the character sheet template.

3. Main Threads will always have the appointed characters, and shouldn't really be joined by anyone except those who signed-up or were appointed in that Main Thread. Open means you can join whenever, whatever, and so on: just beware of possible character death. And like Jessica said, Ask is for certain players only (cannot be joined by another random character).

4. Several years, I believe. Often a few.

5. You could PM other members, such as myself. Or, you could jump into an Open thread. However, everyone who has essentially posted in this thread will be more than happy to help you start role-playing! So, don't hesitate to ask.

6. Three. To add, you can only stay in one main faction, and you can only have up to two characters in such a faction. For example, you can have two Jedi Knights, but you can't join the Republic or Sith, nor can you make a third Jedi. This is where Independent (Indie) roles come into play. On a side note, there are also independent factions (e.g. Accord) that indie characters can join too, so you won't always have to be alone 'n stuff.

7. Of course! Just be ready of some OOCly glaring. (Kidding)

8. You can take as long as you want. In combat threads, however (e.g. Open PVP or Main Threads), you must post within 48 hours or you will be skipped. Which may result in some serious repercussions in battle, unfortunately.

9. Though not sure what you mean, but: one of my characters is Jamie Dornan. You know, that "guy" from "that movie." Don't judge. Also got Zoe Saldana for my Indie babe. She's gr8.

10. This timeline just started this year, so I don't think you should worry about the timeline ending anytime soon. Hence, role-plays can be independently completed.

Now, if you have anymore questions or concerns, I'm always here to help!

Have a marvelous stay.

Sorry about question 9. Let me rephrase it a bit.

While looking through character profiles, I noticed that a lot of people use celebrities or characters from various forms of entertainment like video games, anime, and comics to give an idea of what their character looks like and sounds like. I was just wondering if there was someone famous or well known that you recognize who happens to portray someone's character.

Hope that makes sense.

Also, Deviant. I actually saw Jamie Dornan from "that" movie. He did pretty good :)

Ah,then you're referring to face claims. There's a list of them somewhere (I'll try and grab it later). But to answer your question, feel free to use any celebrity, video game character ,or anime character for that matter ,as a face claim.

Hi again, @Richter Ahvo !

The only thing I'd as is that the forum timeline is fluid. We don't have a set exact change dates. But rest assured it won't be changing anytime soon.

Cheers!
