You guys are forgetting, those were special, plotline instances. You don't see MANY single starfighters taking out a capitol ship, or even a frigate very often, if at all.

Bombars are used to take out subsystems, such as weaponry, communications, engines etc. and fighters, interceptors are there to prevent it, yes?
