Clampdown
Attacks have been rising gradually in recent weeks, with a local estates and farms falling prey to increasingly vicious strikes from raiders and pirates from the hills to the north of Theed. For some time we have passed these attacks off as wild animals or lone incidents of crime, however a recent training exercise by the NRSF Air Corp has seen one of our budding pilots nearly taken out of the sky by a military grade anti-air cannon.

Having deployed drones to the area, we can now confirm that a large scale smuggling operation has been hiding under our very noses, attempting to silence local farm owners through threats of violence. His Majesty, King Jafan has requested that we take care of this issue before it develops further, and before news of this occurrences reaches Theed. As such a task force is being assembled to strike out at this Smuggling den in the north, and to take care of them before they become a greater threat.

  • Our intelligence operations have reason to believe that the Smugglers are receiving support from one of the other City-States on Naboo, and as such can afford higher grade weapons than we would be used to. Number-wise our intelligence suggests there are around thirty of them holed up there, with a further fifteen Sentinel series combat droids.

Some of the wealthier estates have thus been able to hold off their attacks so far, due to their own considerable automated guard units, however should they be allowed to go unmolested for any longer, the local estates may fall. That being said, the estate of a certain Commander Rand Xexil is positioned just outside the catchment area for the attacks - and will serve as a staging ground for our offensive.

  • The Hills north of Theed are steep, and thus it is hard to get a direct bombing run in (otherwise this would be a lot easier for us). The lead up to the facility will be the hardest, and we expect it to have some sort of gate, possibly guarded. We have provided speeders to ease this process, and air support will be available, but in limited supply due to the hills once you are inside the facility.

  • A total of 100.00 NRSF Royal Guard have been assigned to this operation, some of the best in our operational armed forces. Naturally they will be equipped with the usual blaster rifles, light armour, grenades, batons and pistols. We have assigned sufficient multi-person speeders to facilitate the raid, and a wing of fighters will be in the area.

  • Commander Rand Xexil will be on location to oversee the operation, ut as part of your ongoing training, one of the NRSF members (PC’s) will lead the ground assault.

Friends, Naboo, Countrymen!

Merry making, and hard celebration has been all and good. But for the Jafan Dynasty, and its Allies, to flourish they will need to be nurtured in an environment in which they can grow.

The King requests delegations from the Royal Diplomatic Corps, and its security details conduct some meetings with those that control the space that Naboo is in; The Jedi.

  • The entire Chommel sector, and much more is controlled by the Jedi, this cannot change. The ramifications of a hypothetical secession are not only impossible, considering the size of the Jafan's might, it is not sought after. The Jedi have made it clear that they will not give Naboo to either side of the conflict... and even if it were one unified planet... they would not give it away.

  • Theed, more specifically in the Headquarters of the Royal Diplomatic Corps. An elegant, square building by one of the many rivers. Its grounds, at the rear of the premises contain several gazeboes that are covered in climbing flowers. Each one is a self-contained meeting chamber, with a holo-display in the centre of a round table.

Within the Headquarters is home to the annals of Theed. A library of the texts brought with the original settlers, and every piece of written word created on Naboo. Statues to Theed's leaders, from the state and the military, are dotted about amid marble columns and works of art.

  • You have a warrant from the Royal Household to conduct discussions with the Jedi to assuage any concerns they may have over the conflict. This will also be the first official meeting of the Jafan Dynasty, and shall be beneficial to any further meeting that may be needed.

  • The delegates will have the full support of the Royal household, a written warrant, and are expected to report to the King for a full debriefing.

The Gungan Question

Reports of the war continue to come in on a daily basis. Out in the rolling hills, farmsteads are ravaged by smuggler and Deeja Peak forces alike. But for Port Landien, the threat comes from the rolling waves. Reports from the RNSF outpost, set up when the settlement joined the Dynasty, state that the indigenous civilisation of the Gungans have been responsible for trading issues. Several large creatures have been driven into fishing grounds, and even raid on outlying homesteads has led to a call for aid.

Normally, the distant Gungans keep themselves to themselves. Only ever attacking when provoked, have they been provoked? Is somebody trying to use the Gungans? It will be the team's mission to discover this.

  • Port Landien is an economic powerhouse, some of the greatest export earnings come from trade with the perfumery, wineries and fisheries of the beach town. Landien is a relatively new player to the dynasty, only once the Deeja Peak attack the previously neutral trade vessels did they join.

The nearest Gungan settlements are the vast submerged City of Otoh Urs. Several small trade posts along the coast from Landien trade with the Gungans from time to time. The citizens of Otoh Urs are held in the deepest respect by those Naboo in the region; regardless of their affiliation in the war.

  • Port Landien, a bustling port town. Sat on the estuary of the Solleu, the town was founded when a group of settlers scratched out a fishing community. It expanded rapidly when it was found that the oil of melted down Opee Sea Killer paste could be turned into a base for scents to be mixed with. With more trade, came more industry and Port Landien became the powerful province it is today.

  • At mos the RNSF could spare ten troopers and transport for all and the party. Any larger a force will be considered aggression so close to the border.

  • Detail will need to consist of at least one member that has some official capacity for negotiations. A heavy guard is advised, as Port Landien is very much on the frontier.

With the Naboo faction now well underway, we've released a mission pack. Now as you know Naboo is in Jedi space, so we'd like to welcome you for a soiree here.

In addition, if a few of you would like to get in touch with @TAC the second mission of the pack needs some Jedi for some talks.

Then you will need to talk to your Masters, I'm sure it would be OK. Yet, it would be prudent to run it by them.
