Koran Mak, a tall Kiffar male with long dreadlocks and gold-brown eyes, stood before the doors of the councilchamber. He wore the traditional Jedi Robes, and his hood was down, so his face could be seen. His lightsaber was clipped to his belt, and visible, to show the Grandmaster he indeed carried a lightsaber.

The great doors slided open slowly and the councilchamber appeared. There were many seats, but all were empty, as there would not be a council meeting, but a personal meeting between Knight Koran Mak and Grandmaster Colm Lorian.

Koran entered the big room and bowed before the Grandmaster, to show his respect and said: "Greetings, Grandmaster Lorian. Thank you, for accepting my request for this meeting."

"Good day, Koran. I'm glad we could have the time to talk." Colm was warm and welcoming, although he did not really know what the younger man wanted to ask of him. "What is it we needed to speak of," As he descended the short stairs to the doorway where Koran stood.

"Well..." Koran began, his voice sounded deep but friendly. "...Some time ago, I travelled to Chandrila and visited an ancient tomb. However, the Dark Side aura was strong and... well, I've been 'touched' by the Dark Side." He paused for a few moments and crossed his arms. He looked at the Grandmaster and continued: "I fought a Dark Jedi within that tomb, but the very strong Dark Side aura was taking over. I felt so much anger as I struck this Dark Jedi down. I think that my actions, killing him, was truly based on my anger. Ever since I've been feeling 'pulls' from the Dark Side, but thus far I could resist them. However, they've become stronger lately and it's getting harder to resist them. I find myself being angry more often and it concerns me. I have come, to ask for your council on this matter, and I am truly grateful you were able to meet me."

"Indeed." He looked more serious now. Colm was mulling over what to say, the situation was delicate and how he handled it could have very positive effects or no effect at all. "What are these pulls you feel to the dark side? Do you have fear? Anger? Please tell me about this."

The Grandmaster turned and motioned that they take a seat on two parallel benches near the entrance. One was against the wall, the other was just before the stairs. Colm took the one against the wall and motioned for the Jedi to sit across from him.

Koran walked over to the seat and sat down. After he did he looked over to the Grandmaster and thought about what to answer. When he made up his mind, after a few moments, he said: "I feel anger, and sometimes a little too much anger and that makes me frightened. I don't know what to do, master."

He sounded calm, but deep within him he had a hard time to control his emotions. The Grandmaster would perhaps sense that, perhaps not.
"And I don't know where those feelings come from. I find myself frustrated very fast about things and well... I get the feeling I'm..." It was obvious he did not know how to say this and he tried to choose his words carefully. "...I feel like I'm slipping away. I struck down a living being in pure anger, I even felt hate. I hated this man and therefore I claimed his life and so I almost handed myself over to the Dark Side. I refused it though and in the beginning I had no problems with it. But now it's becoming harder to resist and... Well..."

"Recite to me what The Tenants and The Code say about emotion." Colm was hoping the Jedi could find the answer with little guidance. This would allow him to reform independently of outside guidance.

Koran who had of course studied the Nine Tenents and the Code, knew them inside out and began reciting the Tenents: "Emotions are unavoidable, but lessons may be learned from the feeling of these emotions. However, emotions of such strength as to cause a Jedi to act or behave in a manner - Master I have recited the code and the tenents to myself all the time!" Frustration could be heard in his voice.

Again, Koran felt it, but when he realized it he quickly sat back and said: "Master, I apologize... I will recite them once again."

"Emotion, yet peace. Emotions are unavoidable, but lessons may be learned from the feeling of these emotions. However, emotions of such strength as to cause a Jedi to act or behave in a manner different from rational thought are dangerous, and must be avoided at all costs for a Jedi to truly master the Force."

He thought about the words, but still it did not do much to him. There were so many thoughts that clouded his mind. So many things he wanted to tell the Grandmaster, but he just could not. He was afraid of things to come, and he was afraid of losing things dear to him.

"You must keep yourself in check. You know when you feel these emotions of fear and hate. You know when they control you. Be conscious of this and do not allow this. Know what you must do as a Jedi and act upon it. If you feel you can not do this I have other methods that may work." His voice was stern and commanding now, this Jedi was already becoming frustrated with a simple conversation. Maybe the man truly was slipping to the dark side.

Koran calmed himself. He nodded to the Grandmaster and he understood what the Grandmaster was talking about.

"I will try, master Lorian." The Knight said. "I will try not to fail the Order."

He sighed. "Forgive me my frustration. It is also the tension I feel these days. I am trying to get rid of the emotions, but I feel so much tension. It sometimes clouds my mind. Anyway, I shall try to control my emotions and I know what I must do as a Jedi. I don't want to fall for the Dark Side. Tell me, master, what are your other methods, in case it's getting worse?"

"I will asign you a jedi to watch over you at all times. It's an unpleasant experience but effective."

Koran did not like the idea of being watched all the time and said: "I will try to do it myself, and if I really can't handle it anymore, then I will accept someone who's watching over me. I do feel somewhat relieved now, now that I have informed you about this. I am very grateful we could meet. Thank you very much, Grandmaster Lorian."

"Anytime. If you ever need my council again. Do not hesitate to find me." He stood at the verbal cue to close the conversation.

"Thank you." Koran said and he stood up from the chair and bowed before the Grandmaster, to show his great respect for the man. "Until next we meet." He said and he left the council chambers. He felt relieved after this meeting, but was it enough to keep him on the right path?

Hopefully it was.
