The offices of one Yuri Sharp. Decorated with weapons, swoop parts, some weird plush bed and some pet bowls. Yuri, however, was not in his office at this point. Jack Tamblyn was.

Sitting at Yuri's desk, feet unceremoniously on the desk as Jack struggled to get comfortable, shifting in the chair. A sigh of boredom escaped his calm visage as he set himself to idly fiddling with the odd trinkets that scattered on the desk. Nothing that resembled anything regarding the Vergesso Asteroid Base, its businesses nor Retrade operations. That was exactly what Jack wanted to see. Nothing traceable.

Yuri and Shyra, of course, were some of the Retrade's earliest 'grabs' and had proven endlessly useful to recruiting and business expansion. They'd caused their own trouble in their own way, but not set the Retrade at harm, so if anything, Jack owed them a gratitude for the efforts they'd contributed to the effort. However, the work was never done.

Jack's attention was disturbed when Yuri finally entered, "About freaking time, Sharp! Been waiting here for at least ninety seconds."

Been a while since he last spent time here. His step daughter, Nemo, who used his room briefly was now on Corellia with the Reapers. The SC was doing well, the founding members were still getting set up though to be honest Yuri had fewer members than he initially thought he'd have on board. But it was still early days for the SC and the President of the Club was confident that it'd grow with time. Having just completed an assignment on Dantooine and Coruscant Yuri delivered some interesting information for future Retrade business. He made a short pit-stop on Tatooine where he met up with Shyra and did some good old fashioned fighting in the arena but as soon as that was over his next destination was the VAB.

Having talked with a member of the RRT Yuri learned that the ship he acquired from Babylon was being worked on and prepared for use of the RRT. Good news, but checking the time Yuri realized that he was needed elsewhere so not two minutes later did he enter his office and there he say. The Vice Executive was already there, good. Grinning as Jack complained about waiting Yuri looked at his bed and took a seat there. "Sorry Boss hehe." Yuri leaned forward, his elbows resting on his knees and his hands clasped as he looked at the man in the while suit.

"You like the room? Had to get rid of the Vorn-cats because they kept getting out and eating members of Shyra's zoo." Barely holding back a grin it was quite obvious that Yuri didn't care much that a lizard or two got eaten, after all Lil' Stomper and Mr. Cuddles were both trained to not attack humans or sentients unless they were told to, or attacked.

"Classy, Sharp." Jack smiled. "Anyway, I noticed you've been keeping up to the appropriate amount of Sharp trouble making. Doing your job to keep the sniffers at bay," Jack got up from Yuri's chair and moved over to a small bar trolley and poured two glasses of Yuri's best whiskey, passing one to the Underlord.

"We've gotten a few more acquisitions, Sharp. Business is booming, and shock-freaking-horror... It's all one hundred percent legal," Jack smiled proudly. Legality was something that kept the law at bay. The more legal things you were doing, the less likely you were to get pinned for your indiscretions. If you were solely illicit, you were more or less guaranteed to be arrested. However, legal tax-paying business is something that every governing body loves. Even when you bribe them to keep their eyes diverted; it's all just grease in the wheel. "I hear Dervish and you are busy. Hangar Twelve is doing wonders. There'll be a sizeable order coming in for a nature reserve on Chandrila in the next week or so - an old college friend of mine. Paid top dollar, dumbass."

Jack sipped on his whiskey and scoffed with glee, "Great stuff, Yuri. Order me a case, will you?" Jack generously topped up Yuri's glass and filled his own again. "Of course, little critters, swoop racing and arena fighting aren't why I'm here. The Vergesso Asteroid Base has a disassembled shipyard."

"I want it operational."

"I do what I can." Seeing Jack pour them both a drink, it was then that Yuri remembered that it was ages since he last poured himself a shot of Corellia's finest. The vile poison that was the alcohol would be a welcome treat to end another day and Yuri actually found Jack a good drinking buddy. Why? Because whenever the two of them shared drinks, which wasn't that often, good things and lots of money followed.

Raising his glass to the Retrade getting more businesses under its belt Yuri took a short sip of his drink. The burning sensation continued for several seconds as the drink made its way to his stomach. It was good news that Hangar 12 was bringing in money, but it was just a temporary solution, both Shyra and Yuri knew that. The real potential, the big money, of the VAB was its ability to produce ships, and it seemed that after over a year it was time to get to that part.

"Don't worry about the drinks. The Mayor of Coronet gave me another one when I opened up SHI on Corellia. I'll have it sent to your office. But never mind that... This thing..." Yuri gestured to the space around them. "How much money do we need to get it operational? I've got five million I can invest right away." Both of them knew that it would take more than that to get this thing running. But they were of to a good start, part of the facility had been renewed, and the droids and work force were here. So they could start working, but raw materials would probably be the problem. That and machines to produce the actual ships. How many years would it take to get that all done?

Jack gave a dismissive shrug, "The number crunchers are estimating around five hundred billion from now to one of each model completed." The message was clear: five million was a forgivable variance when dealing at this level. Five million was the equivalent of dropping a five credit chit and not bothering to pick it up. Five million didn't register to Jack, not when dealing on such a grand scale.

Oddly, Jack seemed unfazed by this seemingly gargantuan number. Clearly business had been good. Well, at least Jack seemed to have a plan to gather half a trillion credits in the middle of a war. Not many people would have come up with something so bold as to start a shipbuilding company using the resources of a secretive organisation to such a point that not even the most successful intelligence agencies would ever have a clue that the ship was being constructed, let alone where.

"They think it'll take around seven or eight years to get up to full swing, but I can deal with 80 billion a year or so. It might be a stretch, but we'll have gotten the droid-power to save on man-power. Plus we'll be able to run the clock, so we may come in well under budget and miles ahead of schedule." Clearly such twelve digit figures was 'just another business deal' to Jack. Most people cringed at the thought of spending five hundred billion. Jack loved the idea, however. Five hundred billion now would quickly turn into Five trillion afterwards. For Jack it was the end game that made it worth while.

"Sound good?"

Right. In this discussion five million was nothing. The goal was to create a company that would stretch across the galaxy and produce many many massive ships that every military, transport company or government would want to get their hands on. It was a massive undertaking, to create such a business and break in to the market. Well now that he thought about it, MandalMotors could use some competition. Add that this money making machine would the Vergesso Asteroid Base, a base owned by Yuri Sharp and Shyra Dervish.

It all sounded great but there was that little detail about the money. "Sounds great chief. Seven years sounds realistic for that kind of undertaking, just one little thing. How are we gonna raise the money to build all that? I've got SHI making money, but according to the CEO we won't be making serious money for another 12-14 months. I assume other Retrade businesses will chime in a pretty penny as well?" There was also a hotel on Coruscant that Yuri was in the middle of taking over. Though of course with the war going on it drove real estate prices in to the ground. Prime opportunity for takeover, just a little more time.

"Come on, Sharp. We've got businesses booming everywhere. Our slaving industry alone generates one point two billion a year. And that is less than half a percent of our total income. Our legitimate businesses earn nearly enough to cover these costs. Plus with our rapid and occasionally hostile expansion plan..." or 'forcing people to sign over their companies or die' "...we'll have more than enough assets to generate the money."

Jack chuckled, Yuri seemed much too uptight for his reputation, "The concept is to put the Retrade in a perfectly legal and legitimate standpoint. Wealthy enough to give us all legal employee bonuses. Our extra-curricular activities will be weekend fun. Imagine a world where we owned what we needed, what we wanted, and what we will need next week. Picture it, Yuri. The law too scared to investigate us because we're paying 80% of their wages in the meagre taxes we pay?"

"Then when we get to that stage we say we won't pay tax unless certain demands are met," Jack laughed. "Golden toilet seats. Kuati virgins. Who cares, Yuri? We'll play our game, to our rules, and no one can do a damn thing to stop us."

It seemed that Yuri had relaxed a bit, when reality was thrown in his face. He didn't have to worry about anything, sort of. This was the Ona'bak retrade they were talking about. Not some mom and pop shop that dreamed big. Finally they had the means to an end. A confident smile spread across the features of Yuri Sharp. "Let's kirffin' do it then."

Taking a swing of his drink the rugged human wearing the RRT uniform was happy. Finally more people like Lorelei joined the party. Jack was a greedy and ambitious son of a bitch, and Yuri had to admit it. He liked him! Raising his glass once more Yuri downed the contents of his glass in one go, the burning sensation in his gut was only partly due to the alcohol. "Is there anything specific you need from me?" Yuri was an efficient killer, but he was also very well respected, or feared, in certain circles. After all he was a gladiator, a decorated war hero, a gang leader, a high ranking member of the Retrade, founder and owner of an upcoming company that was SHI and in the near future other establishments along with being a co-owner of the VAB.

So if there was anything else that he needed to do to make this golden age come true, you could bet your ass that he'd do it. Wouldn't that be a true Rocky story, a slave, the ultimate underdog, would rise up in the galaxy and become one of the most important people in his era. Well even if that vision was a bit much Yuri and Shyra would still be filthy rich and powerful so there was that.

"Just keep being Yuri Sharp," Jack chuckled and downed the rest of the whiskey. "Push for what you do best. Keeping attention off our backs, and keeping the money rolling in."

Jack smiled and stood up, gently placing the glass down as he adjusted his jacket, "Well. Thats all I needed to swing by for, really. If you need me, or my wallet, don't hesitate to call."

With that, Jack left the VAB via his Ghtroc 720 freighter, destination: Unknown.
