Are there any Astro droids in the current timeline? If so, what prototype are they?

I looked on wookiepedia but I didn't find much about what time in history the droids were made.

Astromech droids probably do exist, they just would not have highly sophisticated AI. The functions could be done by the droids, but the owner would have to give it plenty of commands.
