Silver your just upset from our conversation yesterday :P

Plus, if we are running shit like mandos, we should be burning the unnecessary worlds to show the GA what we do. We are not polite, "let's sit down and bargain a teaty" warriors. If we are returning to a primarily canon mando faction we would indeed burn worlds, just as the mandos in ALMOST every crusade did. I am not saying we kill off civilian populations for no apparent reason, but primarily military planets...those we can reduce to clouds of vapor and ash. That is what Mandalorians did, we conquered, we burned, and we pillaged. Mandalorian honor doesn't equate to our honor, they are in fact positioned as villians mostly throughout star wars for a reason.

Only Mandalore the Ultimate nuked planets. And that was only because the military refused to engage, or hid behind the civilian populations, trying to use them as shields. And there isn't any gain in nuking military targets. Nor any honour.

A Mandalorian gains honour by being true to the Resol'nare, and sees war as the ultimate test, the ultimate way to prove yourself to your Aliit and your peers. The more warriors YOU can defeat, and not just by dropping a 12 gigaton bomb on their heads from space by pressing a button, the more honour you recieve.

Or do you want to be the next Cassus Fett?

I have no problem being Cassus and everyone hating me for being merciless towards the enemy, that is the way A'den was designed anyways.

On the flip side, why would we care if the GA sent reinforcements by your statement? As you said the more we kill with our hands the more honor, I say we stop thinking like civilized people and start planning like the Mandalorians would. No Cloak and Dagger techniques, no subtly, just hitting hard, fast, and precise.

why would we care if the GA sent reinforcements by your statement?

Several reasons.

A) ICly, the GA vastly outnumbers us.

B) Not even Mandalorians are invulnerable.

C) The more damage we can do to the Hapan before the GA becomes wise to us, the less resistance we'll face, and the quicker we can reach our true goal.

D) Mandalorians aren't stupid. If you fight a superior enemy, you do your best to level the playing field as much as you can. One on one, that usually means armour, beskar weapons, superior firepower, Mandalorian training, which makes you the toughest badass on the battlefield. The same is true on a strategic scale. You break their supplies, their morale, you cut off their reinforcements. We might be the best warriors in the galaxy, but there are only so many of us. We'd be badly outnumbered against both the Hapan, the GA, AND the Jedi.

And what makes you think the GA will help Hapan? They declined to help the Loyaltists both icly and oocly because of the Sith threat. More then likely the GA will sit back and watch another system fall like they always do...seems to be becoming the trend with them

It was a civil war. In Canon, the Republic/Alliance/Whatever has never gotten involved in civil wars. It was utterly in character with the faction.

But this is an unprovoked invasion of a legal constituent of the Alliance, with it's own Senator. There is no way the GA can't ignore that. It'd be the same as if we invaded Corellia or Onderon. The only difference is that Hapes Cluster is unique in that it possesses it's own military forces as well, and is mostly self-governed. But it's just as much a part of the GA as Corellia, and produces a sheb-load of money for the GA.

Alright, but my point is still the same Mandalorians of old didn't do these cloak and dagger techniques for a reason. The Death Watch did, is that what we want to be compared to? Instead of "sneaking" warriors on these stations, I suggest we hit them hard and loud before they can react.

That retains the surprise but takes out the cloak and dagger aspect, which shouldn't be done, imo.

'Cloak and dagger' tactics, otherwise known as 'Common sense', are used by every conceivable millitary force imaginable. If it's more efficient to sneak 5 warriors into a fortress and sabotage it, Mandalorians will do it, because they aren't stupid.

That's really it. You're complaining over legitimate tactical decisions that will ultimately preserve the strength of our outnumbered fleet and troops.

And the Death Watch did no 'sneaking'. They did terror tactics and brutality. They were Mandalorian terrorists, essentially, in their modus operandi. It's why they had distinctive armour, colour schemes and frequently relied on extreme shock value.

Regardless, the decision is Corden's, based on our input to his decision making process. If Corden says we infiltrate and sabotage, we infiltrate and sabotage.

This from the man whom is trying to reform the Advanced RECON COMMANDO program? The ARCs of old were all about Cloak & Dagger, and it's in the job description of both Recon missions, and Commandos of any sort.

Sorry for the outburst, had a bad day at work. No excuse I am aware, working on my anger/outburst issues, it has been reflected in my Ooc comments and ic actions, won't be happening anymore. To anyone I have offended as of late I apologize and will be halting a lot of social threads with A'den and focusing in on battles and such, ttyl

I can't remember who, but someone was going to work on a new and more comprehensive write-up for the Sigil System. Can I get an update on that? I know things have been slow lately, but I'd like to get our activity level back up to what it was before.

We have a war, but we're stuck OOC. You may not see it, but I've been working behind the scenes to get battles going between us and the GA. It's harder than you think.

Wouldn't we just attack IC and then force them to retaliate?

They don't always retaliate. That's the problem. Sometimes we sit around for weeks... sometimes months... and they only post a few times. Eventually the threads just die out, but I've been working with GABA and others to remedy that. Hopefully we'll be able to ramp up activity on both sides after Teth.

On another note, does anyone have ideas for the flashback role-plays? Codia will be a space battle and Zaddja will be the ground battle. I need interesting and believable scenarios for both. Just post here or PM me if you have any ideas.

For Zaddja, I'd reccomend a cavalry/armoured warfare battle. I've yet to see one pulled off on this forum, and considering the planet is a barren dustball, I'd say it'd be perfect for it.

Great idea. We've seen a lot of infantry firefights and space battles, but no tank warfare.

The only reason it's not done, is because think of it from a writing perspective. It's slow paced, monotonous and boring in actuality. The act of driving a tank is technical, but two tanks fighting is hardly an exiting idea. Well, as far as i see it. A tank battle, i don't imagine will catch on. Unless the tanks are going 150mp/h in some kind of gritty as hell durby.

Trust me, tank battles can be exciting if you know what you're doing. And even today's tanks can do 150 mp/h. So our new Canderous tanks with repulsorlifts which gives you frictionless motion? Try 300 mp/h.

And if you don't want to be in a tank, you can mount up on a PLC Interceptor speeder which possesses missiles and blaster cannons. Then have your character have a bunch of anti-tank mines/grenades on the back? Or even a second guy riding shotgun with a Hettyc'bev missile launcher? Suddenly you've got hit-and-run strategies with way faster and more nimble speeder packs hurting big, angry, tanks brimming with heavy guns.

Anything can be awesome if you put your mind and some backbone into it.
