["Where's the glowrod...?"] Chalwaar popped and replaced his pouches, rummaging through his utility belt until he found it. Chalwaar shone it at the alleyway. He grunted disapprovingly - 2 more booby traps, and sloppily set up too.
He followed the alley via the rooftop, until it emptied into an open road.
["There are more booby traps. I think the alleyway's too hot, but there are footprints on the other side. It looks like there's another group ahead of us. I say we follow them, so that they can blunder through all the traps and ambushes for us."]

"Negative. Meet up with us here. Unless it's urgent I want you here now. We need to consolidate." Abele was getting antsy but she was trying not to telegraph it. She needed to consolidate and stay organized.

Chalwaar grunted irritably. He thought his idea was a good one.
Well, he resolved to come and see if her reasons for his recall were worth getting irritated or not.
He smoothed out his voice, made it fit to talk to his superior. ["...Acknowledged, coming around."]
Chalwaar glanced at his squad, its members already heading back towards the rest of the group.
Chalwaar replaced his glowrod and hustled off behind them, back to his superior.

The moment they were all there she spoke, "Every squad needs a gun, how many do we have? If you have a gun only use it if necessary. They're not exactly quiet, but it's your call if your are presented with the situation."

She stopped for a moment and drew a map on the ground. she pointed to where they were and then moved her finger to point another place. "This is where a large number of them will be. Our plan is to split them up. One squad, that's you Chalwaar, will attempt to take a few down before they notice you. Once they do, you will retreat into a safe zone that you will already have located. It's not actually a safe zone, but hopefully it will get them to go far enough to where the rest of this squad can grab the stragglers. Any questions?"

Chalwaar nodded curtly and accepted a stun gun from his superior.
["Simple enough. Pick off a few, string them out, and you pound them from all sides. All I need to do now is find the safe zone.
I suppose that this roof here could work, but it's a bit exposed. We could duck into the alleyways here, I suppose."]

"Remember those traps you talked about? Try and lure them into those. Start moving, we're going to get into our position now. "We will retreat if we need to." Abele and the others moved out leaving Chalwaars three behind.

They hid silently in the alleyways. There had been a pair of guards that were now tied up and stashed inside one of the buildings. There were about eight soldiers patrolling the area. They were waiting for another squad to pop in. Limp bodies of trainees could be seen tied to a wall. They were out of the game, captured or dead as far as the game goes. "Whenever you're ready Chal." She waited for them to go, each member with a gun trained them on a target, hopefully they would be able to get the entire squad with a good split of four going after Chal and four staying behind.

Chalwaar slung the gun over his shoulder and pushed a nearby door open, allowing entrance to the darkened duilding.["Right. Ganner, Doneeta, let's get moving."]
Chalwaar ducked into the building, followed by his squad-mates. After setting aside a few seconds to securing the area, they took to the halls, rifles sweeping for any signs of movement.
["Doneeta, let's keep away from the windows."]
"M'bad, sir."
Chalwaar nodded slowly, before chancing a peek out of the window.
["I think this is where we get out, the squad's just up ahead. Move fast and keep low."]
"Chal, someone's coming!" Doneeta motioned frantically at Chalwaar to get down as he peered over the windowpane.
Chalwaar quickly cursed at his own ignorance as he hit the tiled floor.
He peered over the window andc cursed. Doneeta was right; a lone patrol of two men, slowly making their way towards his building.
["Get down!"] Chalwaar rolled up against the shady portion of the wall directly under the window, right in its blind spot. The rest of the squad followed suit.
His hair bristled on end as he crouched in the shadows, eerily silent in their repose.
Chalwaar watched, his body screaming at him, as the guard's shadow was pulled through the window as he imagined the patrols peering into the building. Forever the silhouette hung their, and Chalwaar began to suspect that the patrol had caught on.
But just as Chalwaar feared he could take no more, the paro's shadow shrank into the night.
Chalwaar immediately rolled to his feet, as he had been itching to do this entire time. He and his squad nudged the door open as Chalwaar stalked after the two hapless patrols, their backs exposed invitingly towards him.
He crept forward slowly; Ganner and Doneeta crouched uncomfortably, their rifles trained on the two patrols. They had little experience with hand-to-hand combat.
"Mmf-!" The patrol's muffled explanation was cut short as Chalwaar's knee jabbed the small of his back, his left hand wrapped around the man's mouth, the right jabbing his knuckle stud into the back of his neck.
The man sagged, unconscious, and Chalwaar flung the man at his recovering friend.
The patrol's reflexes and skill hand-to-hand took Chalwaar by surprise. The grizzled human deflected the corpse with one muscled arm, and sent the other slicing through the air toward's Chalwaar's growling throat.
Chalwaar barely had time to turn his neck to avoid being stunned by this wicked jab. The smaller foe was too close for him for Chalwaar to use the full-arm jabs that he favored, so he countered by delivering a nasty elbow to the stocky man's left elbow.
But Chalwaar had also underestimated the man's speed. The man ducked behind Chalwaar's elbow and brought his rifle butt towards Chalwaar's ribcage.
Against a human, the butt would have connected with a floater rib, snapping it clean off and ending the fight right there. But a Wookiee did not share a human's anatomy. The butt instead connected with a false rib, which strained painfully under the pressure, but held steady.
Chalwaar suppressed a roar of fury. He was trying to be quiet, after all.
He smacked the man in the back of his skull with his forearm, sending him flailing by.
He was disoriented, and Chalwaar gave him no chance to recover. With one hand he grabbed the man by the top of his skull, picking up into the air. The disoriented man kicked powerfully at the top of Chalwaar's stomach, but all his boots met were iron muscle.
Chalwaar smacked the side of his jaw once, twice, thrice, until the rattling became too much for the man's brain and it shorted. The man was unconscious.
Chalwaar leaned against the wall, panting. The entire exchange had only lasted about five seconds, bu he was simply unprepared for someone who actually knew how to handle himself in melee. He resolved to be more careful as he watched Ganner and Doneeta drag the two ex-patrols into the building. There was no need to tie them up; they wouldn't be coming around soon.

Abele sat there with nothing happening, "Chlawaar, whats going on? Get on it." She waited for the distraction so they could get on with this. An hour or two must ahve poassed already and they hadn't even gotten half way.

Chalwaar gave an irritated snort at the woman in her headset. Hurry up, hurry up, easy for her to say, she's just standing around, barking out orders!["I'm working on it. Two of their squad's down, converging on the rest."]
"W-we are?" Ganner clutched his rifle nervously.
["Yup, and they're close. Try to pop off a few of their number with your stun guns, and retreat when they start to return fire. Just don't expose yourself."]
And not waiting for a reply, Chalwaar darted off into the night, and his squad followed. close behind. His form was masked in darkness as he slunk from shadow to shadow, until he and his squad approached the enemy team.
They flattened against the wall, speaking lowly over the intercomm.
[I have a visual on the enemy squad. Eight of 'em, moving as a group. Is that...a porcupine formation? It doesn't matter. Ganner and Doneeta, be ready to unload on 'em and bolt on my mark, got it?"]
"Sure,"
"Y'sir."
Chalwaar nodded curtly and held his stun gun in ready position. He habitually checked the power pack to make sure it wasn't jammed, but unlike his bowcaster, this thing was well lubricated.
Satisfied, he motioned to his comerades. Three...two...one...
["Shoot!"] He, Ganner, and Doneeta simultaneously rolled out, unloading on the flat-footed squad. Three of their troop went down before the initial barrage, before the squad at large was able to swing their guns around to face Chalwaar and his squad. A bolt ricocheted off the wall alarmingly close to his nose.
[Run!"]
Chalwaar dug his claws into the cracks of the wall and skittered up, hoisting Ganner up with him. Doneeta managed to scramble up himself.
Fast and low, they took off, their feet pounding on the concrete, teasingly within sight of the opposing team, but out of the short range of the stun guns.
"Oof!" Chalwaar heard this to his left and realised that Doneeta was no longer running with them. Maybe the range was longer then he had expected...
["I've got 'em coming! You'd better be in position, I've got a man down!"]

"Go." It was like a whisper but it was as strong as a chorus of shouts. Low and steady they came out of cover and fired on the backs of the enemy squad. The first to chase Chalwaar did not go down at first, the ones closer to Abele did. The rest of their squad did not notice and continued to expose themselves until each was on the ground. "Clear. Who's down? Report." As the rest of the squad grabbed weapons and ammo she crouched near to the building, waiting for a report from Chalwaar.

Chalwaar extracted himself from his makeshift bodyshield made from a fallen foe and unfolded to reveal his complete hight.
["Doneeta was hit in the chase. He's somewhere on the roofs. How strong are the stun settings on these guns, can we revive him or is he out for the night?]

"The point of the guns is to stun until capture. Depending on where he is hit he might be out cold or he'll be able to shake it off. Bring him back here. We're all geared up." She dat there makign sure the sights were good for her gun. It was about the size of a light machine gun, not large enough to be a rifle.

["Right."]
And with that, Chalwaar was off into the night.
He flew over the roofs, scanning for his fallen comerade. It wasn't long before he found him, prostrate on the ground.
Chalwaar swore softly to himself. Stun bolts leave no sign of the point of impact that he could see. But, he reasoned, I need to bring 'im back anyway. Mebbe she can figure something out. With that thought, Chalwaar knelt down, slung Doneeta over his back, and bounded back to his superior.

As Chalwaar came into sight Abele sighed to herself. Now she had to check for losses. She needed to see if her squad mate would be alright. "Chal, set him down over here, we need to make sure he's alright." He looked out of it. She'd need to get him back on his feet quickly or they might get caught in a poor position.

She examined the back of his neck and found a small mark along his vertebra, "He was hit right on the spine, we need to move slowly and quietly. Someone needs to carry him until he gets up." Abele looked around her squad for volunteers. "One of you needs to do this. Someone strong enough, one of you two." She pointed to each Wookie in turn. Their size and strength made them ideal for carrying this man.

Chalwaar and Kaibacca exchange glances.
["I'll do it,"] Chalwaar says finally as he hoists himself up. Doneeta's light, Chalwaar's strong, no problem.
["So... what now?"]

"We need a formation around Chal and a squad to go ahead." Abele and the other three that were of Chal's and Abele's team circled around him. They kept a distance to ensure that none of them could be an easy group of targets. The remaining team started off to check for enemy soldiers and report anything. "We need to keep moving, someone is ought to have heard that. Also when Doneeta is back we'll stop and get him moving again."

They started off slowly and then built a quiet speed, Abele reasoned they were less than an hour from their destination.

Was this really necessary? Of course not, but it made his superior feel better, so Chalwaar allowed himself to be surrounded by men and escorted around. He wordlessly scanned the surrouding camp, wishing he was scouting ahead again.

Abele then touched her earpiece and listened. She turned and looked at the squad and then turned back around. "Get down. Quickly and quietly, move." She said harshly. They all quickly found themselves in the alleyways. Then they heard it. The sound of a squad moving silently moved closer. The light steps of soldiers as they neared the alleyways. They were answering the sounds of the other squad. She whispered into her mic, "Let them pass. Team three on the roofs fire on them from a distance. Draw them away from us so we can flank them."

She waited until a shot hit an unsuspecting soldier and dropped him. Many of the soldiers took cover int he alley that housed Abele and the rest of the squad. She fired immediately with expert precision. Not all were in the alley. Some took cover outside of the alley. Abele didn't need to give anymore orders, her soldiers should be running on instinct now.

Chalwaar, blasting away from behind a crate, watched with a feral satisfaction as his flanked foes dropped like flies before the barrage of gunfire.
Once more, everything was quiet.
After a long, tense moment, Chalwaar began walking around the sight of the skirmish with the rest of his squad, "executing" the foes by blasting their prostrate heads with stun energy - ensuring they wouldn't be coming around for a long time.
Finally, a satisfied Chalwaar surveyed the body-strewn alleyway and slung his rifle back over his shoulder.
["Hey Marl, how many we lose?"]
"I count, uh, nobody."
Chalwaar grunted. No losses? That squad was massacred! Those in the streets found themselves without cover whatsoever, and those in the alleys found it impossible to simultaneously find cover from those in the rooftops and those in the alley.
Chalwaar hoisted Doneeta over his shoulder and turned to his superior.
["Time to go?"]

"Check our guy, see if he's concious." Then she peeked out into the street. Two of the squad were grabbing power cells. "We need to get to the next street over. Thye probably heard that. We need to move as soon as possible."

After they were back in formation they moved through the alleys to avoid incoming troops. The were making good time now. "We're nearing the final checkpoint. This will be difficult. Watch your backs."
