The War Councilor’s eyes flicked to the next video feed brought in by forward surveillance teams. One of the most precarious jobs of the invasion, Dax Rau had the responsibility of disabling the internal security systems of the temple. To do so, he would undoubtedly have to fight through a variety of Sith and former-Imperials, but the Mandalorian strike team wouldn’t be so easily stopped.

On the monitors, Narir could see hundreds of shock troops leaping from transports in free fall, their jetpacks catching them before they hit the ground and angling them into battle. Blaster fire ripped through the sky, and the battle was fully underway. Hopefully, Dax would have success at opening a path for the rest of the assault force to follow. @Taz vs. @Morse

The battle had begun. The skies thundered and the jungle trembled, the Crusade had come to Yavin. Dax and his dozen clan marauders deployed just behind the shock troops landing in force. While the main body of the attack force pulled the attention of the Wizards, the commando and his team with slip into the hanger bay that scanners showed to be closest to the generator room of the temple.

Two of Dax's squad would hold the the line at the their entry point, a smaller bay door meant for speeders. While the rest of his men split up into smaller two man fire teams to spread out any defensive forces and plan charges around security terminals and ordinance stock piles. The commando himself would take care of the generator personally.

As always, Dax wore his red and white Beskar'gam. His Jetpack, ready in combat mode. Boots also activated. Resting in it's sheath at his back, was his Beskad. The pouches of his armor concealed 4 frag grenades, a smoke, and 3 extra power cells each for the twin Quickdraw pistols. Which the mando had in his hands and at the ready.

His men taking care of the meager security in the hanger. Dax made his way across. Quickly moving from cover to cover as he kept his head on a swivel. Scanning the shadows for any Sith, for the scum who scorched the home of his people.

The brush fire of Mandalorian retribution came swiftly to Yavin. Without the Imperial Navy and its allies to keep them at bay, the tribal warriors hopped from world, seizing or scorching them, without hesitation. Their ships were in orbit, their troops falling to the world in well organized hordes with direct intention of making the Sith extinct. Taalong Vorr was among the few Sith Crusaders left in the galaxy, and pondered on the irony that he two was born into a warrior culture and that in a different life he may have been found by Mandalorians, not Sith, and taught their ways of war. The hunger for power had destroyed the Empire via its own arrogance and the remnant Sith could only hide or fight... Vorr was one such that would fight.

Though two hundred Sith Troopers still followed Vorr's commands they were spread all over the temple. But as a report came of a smaller force breaching a speeder hanger, it was clear that they would be a dangerous shock force. They needed to be stopped, and Vorr routed two dozen defenders their way. They would be nothing but folly in the face of a Mandalorian Commandos, if the infiltrators were what Vorr suspected, but they would be useless scrambling through the temple and being captured. To assist, Vorr would accompany them to halt the breech if he could.

Vorr marched in his Sith Warrior Armor, wrapped in his tattered black robe which concealed six orbs which he would utilize in desperation. 2 PL-10 grenades, 2 Acid Grenades, and 2 Electrogmagnetic Pulse Grenades. Vorr carried 2 Vibroknives upon his waist, and had the feeling he'd need them. Vorr learned that Mandalorians were extremely dangerous and lethal opponents. His ship was hidden in the jungle, but it was unlikely he would reach it to make an escape if he needed to. Vorr would need to take great care. He kept his lightsaber in his hand, but did not extend the blade as the sound and light would give him away.

Hearing the small skirmish underway in the hanger, as a number of his troopers entered to stall the mandalorian advance, Vorr climbed a single flight of stairs to the control room overlooking the hanger. Lights were already on within the room, and Vorr stayed low so that he could not be seen through the observation window. Placing his hand on the hanger control console, Vorr sealed the blast doors in the hanger, which ground and screeched their way shut. Following, with a flick of two switches, he turned on all of the maintenance lights in the hanger, illuminating the interior of the small space brightly.

Vorr remained low, hand on his blade backing toward the stairs he entered to the control room to address the attackers directly.

Dax was moving across the hanger bay, from a stack of crates to a mostly dissembled heavy speeder. When the grinding noise of of the hanger doors closing would fill then entire hanger. The commando would wince his right eye at the sound, which even muffled by his helmet, made him involuntarily grimace. The grinding doors closing off his retreat would be followed by every light in the building being turned on.

"The control room" Dax sad to himself, irritated.

He position in the hanger was roughly 75 meters from the control room that looked over the rest of the hanger. A shot that would of been simple for his Westar Rifle, but it was left on the drop ship. Instead, he activated flight mode on his jetpack. Taking to the sky(ish), flying 10 meters up to be level with the control room and closing to within pistol range.

Through the floor to ceiling windows that faced the hanger, Dax could see movement. A soldier or perhaps a sith wizard, if he was lucky, who was slinking out of the room. The Supercommando took careful aim with his left pistol. Pulling the trigger once to fire into the window, and shatter the glass. Then a second pull to set two bolts into the wall console next to the door that would cause it to hopefully seal shut before his target could slink out to the stairs.

"Come out and play."

There was a sound of a jetting flame that came, roaring even audible through the window, and tone that was very familiar to the Sith Crusader. The unmistakable sound of the jet packs that the Mandalorians used to supplement their grounded abilities was clear to the Sith who had more then enough experience with them to know it. The rumbling of jetted flame was approaching the window, which the Sith was back away from. Control room was not so large that he was not already approaching the door, but with the first blast smacking against the window, Vorr knew the Mandalorian was close.

The shattered glass spattered two consoles ahead of his present position. This left Vorr with a pair of options, but one more clearly within his wheelhouse then the other. He could sense the clear minded Mandalorian hovering outside the window, no more then 35 meters away. The time for the true duel had come.

Vorr, holding his lightsaber hilt in his right hand, ignited the red blade, holding it centered in a defensive posture. His legs and waist were behind a console that he had taken cover behind. As the Mandalorian squeezed his trigger to send two bolts at the door control, the Sith pushed out his left hand in a hard growl of aggression. The Force Push was intended to be hard enough to push the Mandalorian back with the element of surprise. Overhanging pipes and heavy industrial lighting fixtures were level with the Mandalorian in the small hanger, and Vorr hoped this would hit hard enough to disable the jet pack.

The two blaster bolts hit the door console behind him. Another door was to the left, which allowed entry to a balcony way and service ladders. There was less cover there, but it would be a way out, and Vorr took a step towards it, blade in right hand defending his body as he watched the Mandalorian. The enemy in this duel of two crusaders.

Dax readied his pistols to unleash hellfire on the Sith as the wizard ignited his blade. Expecting nothing less then a vile but worthy opponent. As Vorr's hand shot up, Dax tapped the controls of his jetpack with the barrel of his pistol in his right hand. The commando expected some manner of force use, in fact he was a little surprised a random object didn't suddenly fly with the Sith's hand movement.

As the wave of force energy hit Dax, the thrusters of the pack compensated. Pushing back against the turbulent wave, not unlike a plane going threw turbulent airspace. Dax would smack his armored head into a light as the pack did it's job. But it did little else the jar his head.

Rattled, but still ready for battle. Dax tapped the controlled again. Closing the distance approximately 5 meters closer and 2 meters to the commando's right. In an attempt to cut off the Sith's exit, and box him in where his abilities would be presumably limited. As Dax closed the distance he aimed both pistols on the doorway the Sith was moving into. Pulling the trigger once on both pistols to fire a total of 4 shots. 2 aimed low, toward the Sith's legs, and 2 more high. Hoping the shoulder or lucky head shot.

The armor of the Mandalorian before Taalong Vorr looked familiar. The color that coated it and the attachment seemed such that he had seen them before. He had been fighting the Mandalorians across the galaxy, but this one was familiar to him quite specifically. It was a feeling he got, in part from the emotion and essence of the individual within the armor. He did not know a face, nor did he fully know who it was, but it was a sensation that Vorr did not attribute to anything satisfying. It could have been the Mandalorian was there for a previous defeat. The thought nagged at him, but he trained his focus to keep his eyes forward.

His lightsaber remained defensively centered with his body, and following the wave of the force, which did little but bump the Mandalorians head, he watched the Mandalorian shift. He was being cut off, held within the box that was the control room. The walls were such that they covered up to his waist, hence he kept his lightsaber covering his upper extremities. As the Mandalorian moved to cover the exit Vorr slowed his walk. Mandalorians were cunning and knew well the limitations of his blade. Vorr would need to utilize his own power to press an advantage.

Vorr stopped short of the door, feinting an attempted exit, but keeping his waist covered behind the panels at the window. The two blaster bolts towards his legs struck the ground where he would have stepped. The second two, well aimed at the Sith's shoulder, which were slightly exposed in the door way, were met by his lightsaber. A reflective action was intended to send the bolts hurtling back towards the firer.

Vorr then cut hard across the door frame, top of the console, waist high wall, and window with his red blade. The momentum and angle of the swing ripped through the metal, wiring, and glass, sending hot shards of melted glass and shrapnel towards the hovering Mandalorian. He bend his knees down into the swing, ducking low and finishing with his blade up prepared to defend against a reprisal.

It was no surprise to Dax that the Sith stopped just sort of the door. It was a holo-chess match, and the commando was winning. This shots for the Sith's feet hit the floor, not a surprise to Dax. Vorr's saber moved in that split second moment. As it did Dax also reacted. Still flying, Dax shifted hard to his left, gliding from closer to the door and back more to the blown out window. Vorr deflected the shots, but they would wiz just over Dax's right shoulder.

While Dax shifted left he holstered his left pistol. In that same moment the Sith, apparently in a rage, slammed his blade into the doorway and load barring wall. Carving a line toward the console and open window. Being made of the same material as the rest of the hanger walls, the control room wall could be made of duracreet and durasteel. Slower to cut then just a simple door. As Dax moved his hand back up from holstering the pistol he pulled the grenade from a pouch and armed it.

Dax would toss the grenade as the Sith was cutting into the wall. The Sith was facing toward the door and turning with his cut to face the window. The grenade would land just behind him. Committed to cutting the wall and focused on his action while he was moving from door to window, it was unlikely he could properly defend himself from the explosive.

The command would still be exposed to the sparks, metal shards, and other tiny debris. But he was wearing an enclosed T-visored helmet and heavy armor. The debris would shower him, but would not blind or impair him. So he stayed before the window, right hand still armed and ready to counter if the Sith survived.

The Mandalorian moved away from the the sparks and debris from the cut. Vorr had misinterpreted the strength of the console wall before him. Perhaps he should have gauged it better as the temple was made of stones, but the modern control within had left him piecing that it was metal... and not load bearing. As he watched the Mandalorian shift away, his slit pupils watching him move a hand away from his pistol, Vorr deactivated his lightsaber, the blade retreating from his its hard position in the rock.

Vorr left through the now open doorway to the left that he had previously deflected the bolt, and speedily moved out of the control room, as the Mandalorian was priming his grenade. Without his lightsaber available open he would be exposed, but it would make his movements more dizzying to follow. Vorr reached upon his own belt, acquired an EMP Grenade, holding the device in his hand. His full sprint had begun before the Mandalorian had begun his toss.

Vorr ran along the catwalk over the hanger, the battle of Sith and Mandalorians still ongoing below them. And then the grenade exploded.

The hot and loud explosion sent metal and molten shards flying in every direction. Vorr had made it five meters outside of the control room, and still he felt the hot pelts tearing his armor and robes. It struck his back, and the wave pushed him forward. He was not sure how bad it was, but he could feel the harsh heat and pain there. His armor would have absorbed the bulk, but it had pierced it at several points. He felt some pain in his abdomen, and a small jut at his leg.

Mustering his energy, Vorr, burnt and blistered tossed the EMP Grenade towards the vicinity of Mandalorian in the direction of the ceiling lamps and overarches. He hurled it with adrenaline, and the orb would likely impact any number of things very close to Mandalorian, detonating the EMP and giving Vorr a small, but somewhat lost advantage.

Dax would catch the movement of the Sith. He seemed to realize the commando's plan. However the act was set. The grenade was leaving his fingers as Dax watched the Sith's cloak leave the door and the blur of man was on the catwalk. Dax shifted right, turning to follow the sprinting Sith. Then the grenade went off, sending a fire ball and shrapnel out of the window and the door the Sith ran threw.

Dax shifted further right in the air, trying to distance himself from the concussive wave of his grenade, with mild success. But he still managed to track the Sith, mostly because the exposition put him on his ass.

As the EMP grenade left the Sith's hand, Dax pulled the trigger of his pistol still in his right hand twice. Sending 4 bolts center mass at roughly 20 meters. Seeing the grenade flying toward him, and his right hand already aimed toward the Sith, Dax rotated his arm and activated the repulsor function of his right gauntlet. The function working not unlike a wizard's force push. The repulsor wave to hit the grenade in flight and push the grenade back toward the Sith. It would also shove Dax backward several meters since he was not planted on the ground.

The combination of movements would put Dax outside the tiny 3 meter radius of the field as the grenade exploded in air. It was also unlikely to effect the Sith in anyway. But the commando would quickly recover in the air. While the Sith defended or recovered from Dax's counter attack, Dax would do a combat reload of both pistols and be right if the fight continued.

The blistering pain that rang in Vorr's spine shifted to incomprehensible. It seared and seethed in his back, it was horrid beyond a measure his mind could cope with. This toss had not made that dull, in fact had made it much worse. Vorr, a creature of many battles, perhaps had gotten lucky over the years in how he had managed to continue. He had been hit by blasters and blades in the past, but never such that he was unable to escape, nor such that it was in such a difficult position.

The truth could not be denied in combat. A duelist did not make a great warrior on a battlefield, but in the same vein, a lucky battler did not make a great duelist. Vorr knew how to combat bladesman, and had learned well how to handle simple soldiers on the battlefield. But the Mandalorians had proved to be a foe he simply could not conquer. He could not out think them, he could not outplay them, he could not outmatch them as they always did him. And the reason was that he had been brought up in archaic forms of war. Matched with the pride and arrogance of being trained as a Sith and you had a creature that would one day fall and hardly understand how or why.

Vorr had that lack of comprehension in his eyes as the four bolts slammed into his chest. The armor may have dulled a single blast, but not the second right beneath each, and this occurred twice. He was in that moment not more then an animal, perhaps what he had always been to the Sith. An attack dog utilized for brutalizing the masses and overpowering unsuspecting opponents and nothing more.

He had gotten to his knees prior to the blasts, unsure of his next move but readying for it. But as the bolts struck him, he felt pain and weakness through his whole self. Vorr held up the lightsaber hilt in his hand, and attempted to move his thumb to ignite the Crimson blade.

He could not. He was too weak.

Vorr collapsed forward on the catwalk, his gaze looking down on the battle beneath him.

The Sith forces, his troopers, were utterly decimated by the Mandalorians, who were already swarming past them and deeper into the temple.

This was the last thing that Vorr saw, as his gaze faded, he took in all of it.

The inevitable failure of the Sith. The End of his Crusade.

Dax watched with some surprise as the Sith did little to nothing to defend himself from the bolts fired at him. The first bolt slammed into him, cracking the plating. The next three would finish him off. The commando understood then. Landing on the catwalk as he continued to watch the Sith come to his own realization that the fight was over.

Cautiously, Dax approached Vorr. The commando watching as the Sith looked down at the battle below. Seeing what the galaxy had been seeing for some time now. The empire of the sith crumbling under the weight of the mando war machine. Dax continued to walk to the downed warrior, listening to cough as the blood filled his lungs. Watching as the life started to leave him. He decided to give the warrior a quick and final end.

"My the force welcome you and the rest of your ilk join you, wizard." Dax said over the Sith. Then put the barrel of his left pistol to the man's head and pulled the trigger. Ending his suffering.

With the sith dead and his troopers defeated. Dax flew down from the catwalk, to the temple's generator room. Planting the last of the charges. Once done, he gave the signal to fall back and regroup with the rest of the attack force. Moments later the generators blew. As well as most of the hanger.

//End Thread.
