Thrawn and Tarkin are among my favorites of the new novels. Aftermath (the series) — while far from my favorites — add some interesting tid bits to the new canon. I also really liked Lords of the Sith.

Just read Thrawn a couple weeks ago, after getting a signed copy as a gift from a friend. That book is A+.

I still need to finish Tarkin tho

Uh... I know I'm really late but I've been unable to be active sooooo... Yeah, that's my excuse.

The Crimson Corsair and the Treasure of Count Dooku, anyone? XD *self-promotion much*

But seriously, I can say for sure Rogue One: A Star Wars Story's book version is a good read, even if you've already watched the film (seven times). Worth the fifteen bucks. Other than that, I've not read any of the others (I'm a terrible nerd, I know) but I'll definitely consider grabbing some of the other books (probably Ahsoka, Tarkin and/or Lost Stars) if I get the chance.

I finished listening to Tarkin and Lords of the Sith today and I must say that Tarkin gave me a new sense of respect when it comes to Grand Moff Tarkin and Lords of the Sith made me realize how far the Rebels would go to damage the empire in any way. Both great books, Tarkin is miles ahead of Lords of the Sith though.

[Indirect spoilers] My one complaint with Lost Stars is that the two main characters felt like they got shoe-horned into a lot of main plots. And of course one of the top top brass of imperial military recruits the imperial characters. And of course the rebel had to get recruited by a Rebel Hero. God forbid someone gets recruited instead by Lt. Lowtime.

I just finished listening to Star Wars Battlefront II: Inferno Squad. I have to say that it was a pretty decent book, slow at the start but it painted a good image of one of the four main characters of Inferno Squad. But the rest of the book didn't quite grip me as much as Tarkin did, which was a more strategic book, but that's just my taste. However the end of SW Inferno Squad was pretty good.

Favorite canon books, top being favorite:

Tarkin
Ahsoka
Inferno Squad
Lords of the Sith

Didn't realize Inferno Squad had been released already. Will give it a read.

I read the Aftermath Trilogy start-to-finish while I was on holiday a couple of weeks ago, and I can say that while the first 2/3 of Book 1 is a bit of a slog to get through, after that it really picks up and gets interesting and action packed.
Would recommend!

I just finished listening to Dark Disciple, at first I felt a bit iffy about it, but when I was around half-way in I really got into it. Christie Golden did a lot better with Dark Disciple than she did with Battlefront II: Inferno Squad. Partially must be that I enjoy Ventress as a character but the story was well paced and had its good twists and turns.

I must also give Marc Thompson cred, the Narrator of the book, his narration helped set the mood for every scene that happened and made it a whole lot better. However I still think Tarkin is the best of those I've listened to, but it's not too far ahead of either Ahsoka or Dark Disciple.

Tarkin
Ahsoka / Dark Disciple
Inferno Squad
Lords of the Sith

Half way through Battlefront II: Inferno Squad. So far it's not amazing, but I do like it, and it will be definitely fun to play as these characters in SWBF2.

I just finished listening to Star Wars: Phasma, written by Deliah S. Dawson and read by January LaVoy. I have to say, it had a bit of a slow start but when it got rolling, wow. Easily one of the best books I've listened to.

Currently, I'd list them like this, top is best and last is worst.
Tarkin - Phasma
Ahsoka - Dark Disciple
Inferno Squad
Lords of the Sith

I've been listening to the audiobooks, starting with Inferno Squad and currently going through Thrawn. I enjoyed Inferno Squad and I am eager to play Iden's campaign story, but Thrawn is a far superior book because of Zahn's great use of intrigue.

I haven't been able to get my hands on Thrawn because they don't sell it to Sweden through Audible. QQ

I need to read Inferno Squad, Thrawn, Ashoka and the Aftermath series. But I just finished Phasma a few days. Easily, so far, my favorite novel so far. It gave me some vibes I got from reading "Darth Bane: Path of Destruction".

Lost Stars and Thrawn are far and away the best New Canon novels with Phasma and Catalyst coming in third and fourth respectively.
