Barrel was shocked by Veith's move and jumped up into the air. Using the ceiling to propel himself, he launched himself back towards Veith, his lightsaber out like a javelin.

However, that attack was only a decoy. He'd fling himself away if Veith could execute a proper counterattack. In reality, his goal with the move was to distract Veith long enough to telekinetically move the other lightsaber laying behind Veith and stab Veith in the back.

Veith ducked low again as Barrel, well, barreled towards him. Hearing a sound behind him, he half-turned to see the other lightsaber lifting off the ground. He pulled the opposite of what he had done a moment before, this time spinning as he rose out of his crouch, knocking aside the unheld lightsaber as he did, and ending facing the incoming Lamia.

As he finished his spin, his lightsaber moved up and backwards, attempting to force Barrel's own blade behind Veith's back and block it there. With his off hand, he attempted a relatively weak Force Pull on Barrel, though presumably the other rookie wouldn't be of any greater skill. As he did so, he would lean his head closer to the Lamia's, and try to take advantage of the opening by using his Anzat proboscises to finish the match.

Veith spun, moving the lightsaber backwards. Barrel counterattacked, puting his lightsaber behind Veith. Barrel was expecting a strike from Veith's other hand. Instead, he was pulled through the Force closer to Veith.

Fool, you've sealed your fate, snickered Barrel.

Barrel lunged at Veith, intent on biting Veith and draining the life energy out of his opponent. However, his quick maneuvering caused him to be blinded by the proboscises. Now it was up to whoever could kill the other first.

As Veith saw that his manuever had been successful, he ceased his Force Pull. Barrel seemed intent on close combat at this point, so there was no chance of him escaping. As the Lamia's defenses momentarily lapsed with his vision obscured by the proboscices, Veith moved his head to the side, out of Barrel's fangs projectory. His free hand came up, grabbing for Barrel's neck to force his head up, and Veith's proboscises went straight for his foe's nose. If they succeeded in entering, they would immediately suck out Barrel's "soup" and kill him.

Barrel was dead before his body touched the floor. Sakaki walked back into the room.

"Damnit! There goes another," complained Sakaki. "Well, the Dark Lord's pets will feast tonight. Anyways, you~e ready to go on your first mission. Go to Master Uubacca for your assignment."

OOC: that's Malon's character

Savoring the "soup", Veith opened his eyes as Sakaki entered. After hearing his assignment he grinned, and gave a perfunctory nod, almost dismissive, to the general. The "soup" made him feel powerful, almost arrogant. His grin grew wider as, having heard all he needed to, he exited the room silently, leaving his training behind.
