SPEED/MANEUVERABILITY
the Y-Wing Gunship has a top speed 90 MGLT thanks to its more robust engine system, but much like its Fighter/Bomber predecessor, she moves a bit on the slow side. Thankfully its heavy armor and Medium Deflector shield make up for the sluggish maneuvering.


ARMAMENT
  • Twin Medium Laser Cannons Forward Mounted (controlled by Pilot only)
  • Twin Light Laser Cannon Turrets (Dorsal and Ventral Hulls, can be manned or controlled by a droid)

EQUIPMENT
  • Droid Socket, located in a small corner next to the main pilot seat. Big enough to accommodate even an R-Series Astromech droid but small enough not to hinder the pilots ability to fly.
  • x1 Class 2 Hyperdrive
  • x2 Docking rings/hatches on both sides of the vessel.
  • x1 Medium Deflector Shield (a beefier upgraded variant of the one used on the Y-Wing Fighter Bomber but much bigger)
  • Ejector Mechanism that separates the main cabin from the superstructure, turning the cockpit/cabin itself into an emergency escape pod
  • Emergency beacon mounted inside the main cabin in case of rescuing
  • Back up Particle shield mounted on the Main Cabin. Used for emergency landings on planets whenever the Cabin is ejected from the Superstructer
  • Emergency maneuvering thrusters on Main Cabin. Designed to move the ship for short distances
  • Small toilet (can be stored away in its own compartment. Waste can either be ejected into space or removed via hatch planetside)
  • Short Range Antenna (mounted on the bow behind the Medium laser cannons) used for communicating and reporting.

DESCRIPTION
As the BTL Y-Wing started to become more obsolete as multirole Fighters like the X-Wing and A-wing began to come online, Koensayr Manufacturing needed to find a way to make their now famous Y-Wing Frame stay relevant. Koensayr engineers took a look at the UT-60 D U-Wing Fighter/Gunship from their rivals over at INCOM, notably that even for such a small Gunship, the U-Wing also worked as a versatile Fighter but not really beefy in terms of shielding. That was where the decision to scale the Y-Wing up was made. With a bit of tinkering, testing, and the occasional broken bone, the engineers at Koensayr finally fell on a working prototype titled the BNG Y-Wing Patrol/Gunship. Designed to hold a small crew and passengers yet survive in the black of space for 2 and a half weeks by itself, the BNG (which stood for B Next Generation) was thought by Koensayr execs to be the path back to getting contracts from the New Republic. The BGN rolled out its first prototypes, with contracts from both the New Republic and later on the Free Worlds Alliance seeing a need for the new Patrol/Gunships. With this success and raking in major profits for its company, Koensayr Manufacturing decided to take the Y-Wing Gunship to the Galaxy whole sale. In the end, the small, fast, and sometimes deadly Gunship found purpose outside the FWA and NR with local Law Enforcement (particularly the Sector Rangers), Bounty Hunters, and the occasional “traveler”.

LEGALITY
Depending on the modifications to the Gunship, the BTL Y-Wing is legal to all who can afford it.

INTENT
The Original Intent is to be a sort of successor to the standard Y-Wing star fighter and-interestingly enough-the U-Wing Gunship. In essence it would combine the speed and maneuverability of the U-Wing with the Durability of the Y-Wing while also working as both a small Patrol Ship that could last for long times in space conducting patrols, reconning enemy positions, and be a durable ship without much maintenance. The personal Intent was to provide a ship for my Character

I like this. However, does it use light lasers or medium lasers? Also, I don't think you'd be able to fit 10 people in there, more like 6 or 7. Consumables should also come way down, like a single month or a couple weeks at most. I'd also like the hyperdrive reduced to a class 2.

Well its a tad bigger than your usual starfighter so I'd say Medium Lasers but i can change them to light. I'll also bring it down to 7 and get it to a month of consumables

@AutoFox I changed it out in terms of passenger cap and consumables along with laser though tbh i didnt understand it with the forward fixed lasers. If you need me to make some more changes let me know.

I like this too, but some things seem off to me.

1) minimum of 4 passengers? Makes it sound like you have to have 4 to 7 there or none at all. I would change that to a minimum of 1.

2) yes, it is larger than a normal starfighter, but with a crew of 2 and passengers of 4-7, consumables should be around 2 weeks instead of a month. It is a patrol ship too which would consider a home base of which it would have frequent stops for resupply of the 2 week consumables.

3) how you have it now, the armament makes me think very OP to AT. If I were you, I would change the twin fixed forward facing lasers to medium and the two twin turrets to light lasers. This gives the pilot control of the main cannons and still sufficient anti-fighter capabilities with the dual light laser turrets.

4) Also, the combination of medium shields and a class 1 hyperdrive scream out AT, this should definitely have medium shields for the type of ship it is, but I would downgrade the hyperdrive to a class 2.

Good changes, dont forget to make some kind of change in the description too, now that you changed the consumables down to 2.5 weeks, it probably would not be designed for 2 month ventures into deep space on its own.

Also, I am not going to suggest adding more crew but maybe a clarification of the crew roles and such. If you look in other posts, you will see "minimum 1 crew (Pilot) max 2 crew (Pilot + Co-pilot) or (Pilot + Gunner). The only reason I suggest this is that gun turrets are normally manned by 1 crew member, seeing how you have a minimum of 1 crew and 1 droid, you could say the crewman is the pilot and the droid is manning both turrets remotely at a significantly lower accuracy of two actual gunners. You could also say the droid takes the control of the ship again at a less than optimal humanoid pilot and the 1 crewman mans 1 of the 2 turrets.

Thats alot of jumbled information but basically I would state minimum crew 1 + 1 Droid with a description of the drawbacks of not having a full crew and then instead of having "Max" 2 crew + 1 Droid I would use the word "Optimal" and then list where each of those crewman would be assigned.

Yea, the Crew description is way off and kinda confusing. I would ask someone else for a better template or way to go about it. Not me though lol

the problem is the Droid can compensate for some of those namely either be a pilot or gunner so this kind of defeats the purpose of saying a droid is needed.
