Wheelies-StreetParty.jpg

THEME
open to any criminals or people that might enjoy the excitement of an underground party.

Kai sat on the hood of his recently acquired airspeeder. He was not the only one. There were nearly a dozen other airspeeders with varying degrees of flamboyancy. A crowd had come together for this party. Music boomed in the background as multiple people had their entertainment systems tuned into the same station. It was a poor man's concert but it did not lessen the merriment of the group.

Someone pulled up with a speeder truck and had three kegs loaded. Cheers soon followed. Kai of course had brought his own party favors. A backpack full of spice and he was passing out the party favors. But it was going fast.

This event was suggested by Malakai Beck to have a little bit of fun as well as get a surge of credits with all the people present. People enjoyed a party and when there was large amounts of money involved that was sure to bring out even more people. It was a networking opportunity. Plus his gang had complained about being bored for the past week.

They were in the lower levels of Nar Shaddaa. The local law enforcement was corrupt and did not come down this far unless they had a good reason. Still, eyes were kept out just in case blue uniforms started appearing. Bets on the race to come were being made and people walked around greeting friends and checking out one another's rust burners. Some people could not wait to gamble and so games of dice were being played on the hoods of people's air speeders or collapsible tables they had brought. Someone had even brought a food truck though the Grysk was not sure if it was stolen or just 'borrowed'.

The one leading and organizing the gambling seemed to be a Hutt by the name of Ikraggo the Hutt. Not really original but whatever He thought to himself as he quickly got distracted by a Omwati female staring at him. That reminded him, there was a younger woman, a girl really by the name of Alais who might be attending. The same could be said for a Cathar, Nashyr.

"Watch the whip. Besh resh besh" He said to his mates as he flicked his stub of a cigara onto the ground. Embers scattered as it hit the hard surface but Kai was already heading towards the keg to get a beer. His feet quickly found his hoverboard and coasted the rest of the way.

Vara caught wind of the shindig earlier in the day. She was suffering from hyperspace lag, having just gotten back from her trip to Tatooine late the previous night. Her plan for the day was just to doze in and out of consciousness and maybe catch up on whatever was running on the holonet streams. Instead, her friends had talked her into going to the block party under the guise for free booze, spice, and maybe even some entertainment.

The party was on a part of the level she'd never been to before, and she opted to ride with her friends instead of trying to traverse the public transit of an unknown part of Nar Shaddaa. Vara rested her eyes, taking an opportunity to listen to a new song from some obscure band on Nevarro.

Before she knew it, they were there. In typical fashion with her friends, everyone scattered to procure what satisfied their vices, whether it be booze, affection, or thrill. In this case, Vara's vice tonight involved the truck she saw that was loaded with kegs. She adjusted her bantha leather jacket before attempting to traverse the crowd.

The line wasn't long, and being a female at these types of events, it always felt shorter. Only moments after getting into the makeshift crowd waiting to get a drink, she had a disposable cup of alcohol fresh from the keg.

With drink in hand, Vara took this opportunity to look around some more. It seemed like the place had more people arriving every few minutes and the night must've been young. She traversed through the crowd, glancing at the speeders lined up. Some were a lot fancier than others. Truthfully, Vara was impressed by anyone who could afford a speeder on Nar Shaddaa and it made her wonder how many were off-worlders.

The scent of rust, cheap beer and the rattly hum of custom engines was a siren's lure for the Cathar. She tilted her head back, content for a moment to listen to the laughter and the voices that eddied around her. Some of her girls were around, but for once Nash was content to not be a club owner. Just for tonight, she was enjoying her time simply as Nashyr.

She held a cheap cup full of the offered keg beer, tail swirling around her knees as she stood, arms crossed. Most gave her a wide booth, but she hardly paid any mind. Lean figure was dressed in a plain black tee and charcoal grey leggings, a synthleather jacket emphasizing curves and hinting at the figure beneath.

She enjoyed the looks she got as she finished her drink, tossing the cup in the nearest disposal bin. She knew very little about custom builds, but that didn't mean she didn't appreciate it as much as the next person. As she stalked forwards to get a better look, she happened to spot a familiar face in the crowd, and gave him a small, sly fingerwave and a wink.

Figures he'd be there. She wouldn't mind a bit of socializing, but she had to admit, she was also tempted by the racers... and was half-tempted to drag out a ride of her own. But then there was the music... and like any good dancer, she itched to melt into the music.

Green-gold eyes glimmered with a grin curled on her lips. Time for a party, and she was in a real party mood.

Ikraggo the Hutt was relaxing in his recliner inside the gambling house, observing the customers come and go while the staff took on the bets and helped the customers with suggestions on who to bet on as the races were streamed live on half a dozen of holoscreens. He smirked softly, idly pulling on a hookah and billowing a large cloud of scented smoke. His two servants were sitting next to him, idly chit chatting with each other in Twi'leki while his bodyguard, a large and burly Trandoshan, kept his eyes on a few customers that at a first glance could have been troubling. He honestly didn't care much about the huge party that had been thrown outside of his business, although it meant that it would bring even more customers to his establishment.

Now this, this was a party. The noise of airspeeder engines accompanied by laughter, spice and alcohol. With parties such as this came all sorts of gambling and high-stake games; the most popular being Sabacc, as usual. And if there was Sabacc to be played, Neriya Dahle was going to be there.

"This is why I don't play Corellian spike!" one of her opponents exclaimed angrily as Neri showed her hand. It was her fourth game of the day and her first win. The only reason she had continued after the first two games, was because of the alluring pile of credits that changed owners after every round. The pile that now belonged to her. "Sorry lads, somebody gotta show you how this game is played." she stated with her usual cocky grin. Her comment was followed by some complains and a bit of laughter. After the Bespinian pilot gathered her credits, she left the table, ready to spent it all on drinking and, of course, the race.

Moving through the crowd, Neri felt safe for the first time in a long while. Everywhere she had gone as of late, she had been chased by the mercenaries sent after her. But attacking her in a place like this? That was suicide. The amount of criminals who were itching for a fight made attacking her here, out in the open, a lot less appealing.

Arriving at an improvised bar, consisting out of empty crates, Neri ordered a Bespin Freeze. It was expensive, but she could afford it now that she had won a significant amount of credits. Turning her back to the bar, the pilot scanned through the crowd, looking for something interesting to get involved in. It was time to go out there, and meet some new people.

Thrumming through the atmosphere, a Skyblade swoop bike's modified engines rumbled over the sizable and chaotic gathering. It swerved around another airspeeder, drifting down and sideways into a space with enough room for the long bike as close to one of the improvised 'bar' areas, the two kegs tied to the sides creaking against their improvised reinforcement, the young man laughing uproariously at the mix of cheers and yells of surprise at his sudden landing. The vibrations from the engine were soon joined by the sound of music as Hannibal's droid, Ego, switched the standard bass-and-metal to the same publically available channel as most of the gathering. Hannibal hopped off the bike, setting it to hover only and locking the controls. Dressed in simple black high-waisted trousers, heavy boots, a black button-up with rolled sleeves and copper buttons, and a green leather bomber jacket with mid-forearm sleeves, he more or less blended in but definitely didn't look like he lived purely on the streets. That aside, with his offering of two kegs and several bottles of liquor, which he added to the bar's pile, along with a wink and a crass joke about one of the losing racers, he managed to blend in well enough.

Acquiring himself a plastic cup of some beer or other, he fished a cigara out of a pack in his coat and lit it with a lighter from the same pocket. With a couple pats to reassure himself of the in-place-ness of his thigh-mounted blaster and his lightsaber, itself hidden deep in a jacket mag-holster pocket, he wandered into the party proper. Out of habit his presence in the Force was partly suppressed, as he preferred not to draw the attention of other Jedi to these sorts of things. They had a habit of playing the part of the wet blanket whenever he decided to mingle with anyone who wasn't some kind of ascetic. They were peacekeepers, not the law! As far as Hannibal was concerned, a speeder party was perfectly peaceful.

Almost automatically, his wandering eyes caught onto a few people of note, but what definitely caught his attention the most was the tall Cathar woman. Grin widening, he slipped his way through the crowd, managing his way to find to way next to her, not a huge feat considering people seemed intimidated by her.

Smoothly slipping the cigara from his lips into the fingers of his right hand he spoke,"Hell of a gathering, eh? Although, you're the only one who looks like they'd make for a good dance." Blatant flirtation, all smirk and bright green eyes twinkling with mischievous energy.

Thalia had found a new love, it was dice games and she seemed to have better luck with gambling than really anything else in her life right now. She swayed from side to side, a bounce in her step, ale in her hand as she listened to the music thumping in the background. Her opponent rolled, the dice were not so nice to him as he had a third loss and passed it onto the next guy who stood around the hood of the speeder. A flirty smile to her neighbor and she refocused back on the game, as the Twi'lek who played next seemed to have good luck also. Another patron wanting to join in squeezed between her and another guy who she was trying to flirt with, completing ruining the moment as she had tried to step closer.

The crowd cheered and Thalia took another drink from her bottle, feeling slightly disappointed that it was empty already. She pulled away from the speeder and headed to the kegs that had just arrived, however, she took her time to look at the speeders and bikes that were present, listening to the engines as visitors showed off. The girl dropped some credits on the counter in exchange for another drink, the music changed, this time more upbeat than the last as a group started to form to dance. There was even one rather spiced out chick who got on top of a speeder's hood to show off how well she could move.

Thalia took a sip of her drink, nodding in approval as she headed back to where she was playing.

Vara idly walked through the crowd, occasionally slowing down or coming to a stop as she looked at some of the custom speeders, swoop bikes, and other assorted vehicles. Some of them were clearly designed for speed, while others maintained an intentionally vintage look, as if they just rolled off an assembly line from a couple centuries ago.

The scoundrel plucked the deathstick she had tucked behind her ear and placed it between her lips before igniting and feeling the ever so familiar rush of the first drag of a new deathstick. Vara knew that with this crowd, it didn't matter. Truthfully, there was probably much worse spice being handed out.

The crowd began to get more dense as she approached a building. Probably gambling, she assumed. Truthfully, she had a few extra credits in her pocket and wanted to hopefully get the adrenaline rush from winning a bet. With drink still in hand, she made her way into the building and got into the shortest line to a cashier. She was more of a sabacc player, but races could be just as exciting.

The chips clinked as she dropped down a hundred credits in smaller denominations on the counter for the cashier. Vara spoke out in Huttese to the cashier, "who's racing?" she asked, before making a decision. "Put it on the next race. Whoever has the worst odds. Feeling Lucky," she said.

Vara looked across the room, noticing a Hutt with an entourage. Surely they had a hand in running the gambling, but had heard another rumors about the Cartel to know not to approach a Hutt unless requested to. You never knew what security or hidden trap door may be present.

And just like that, the situation changed.

She grinned at the other male; unlike most, he was actually a bit taller than her, and that was a nice change of pace. And he didn't seem shy; even better. Eyes of green-gold slowly scanned him from boots to top of his head, and her tail curled around her knees as she hummed, lips twisting into a sly smirk.

"
Maybe... care to find out?" she grinned at him, taking a light step back. The beat of the music changed, just like that.

And suddenly she really, really wanted to dance. She shucked off her jacket and tied the arms around her waist, showing off curves and a lithe, leanly muscled body. One perk of dancing and owning a strip club; you had to look good, and feel good. And with this beat, she felt it in her bones.

She felt damned good. She held out her hand to him, giving a coy grin and a perked brow, almost daring him.

The Grysk shook his head as he watched a woman cut in line. He had seen her around probably. She had that familiar look to her so chances were that they had passed one another on the streets. Then again I've probably seen a dozen people like her. It was not an overly organized affair. The people manning the kegs were taking pocket credits from. Kai had already handed off a fair amount of spice for he and his boys to get their fair share of booze. The bootleggers were getting a good deal.

As he headed back to his whip Kai could see other familiar faces. Two of which he recognized enough to know their names. Firstly was a Cathar by the name of Nashyr whom he had met a week or two back. The normal days tended to blur together. Those are the commercial breaks of life. He thought idly and returned her smile towards him.

The second woman he recognized was Thalia. Kai did not expect her to show up here of all places. The Grysk had met her on Tatooine awhile back and she had been hired to transport him and his cargo to Naboo at the time. I'm definitely a bad influence? A sense of pride at his power to corrupt others even if it was something as simple as party going.

Ain't no party like a dead boi party, right babe? The voice came from a pink skinned girl crouching in the middle of the crowd between him and Thalia. Kai's eyes dropped to look at the specter. Slowly the black hair of the zeltron turned to look at him. A large bubble of blue flavored gum swelled in front of her face. POP. She was gone. Kai sighed, looked down at his beer and drank the rest of it in spite of himself. "Right."

With that lamentable thought soon passing Kai headed in towards his ride. There were still people arriving and would continue to do so right up until the party ended. Bruggan was probably going to be all out of spice to sell in the next couple of minutes given the sheer number of people looking for a good buzz.

The sound of a voice came over the crowd. The music still played but the words would still be heard by anyone and was in Huttese <"~kzzt thing on? Ahem, alright everyone, make sure your bets are place. The Rust Race will be starting shortly."> Those that had yet to place their bets made sure move more towards the gambling house while the rest came out to check out the air speeders. Some drivers revved their repulsor engines. It was just to hype people up and gain some confidence from the people betting on them. Meanwhile, Kai lit up another cigara, a plain one and inhaled looked at his own rust burner.

As the young woman glanced towards Ikraggo, the Trandoshan bodyguard noticed her and leaned to whisper something to the Hutt. The slug looked towards her and smiled softly, then waved at her and invited her to come closer, and the Trandoshan weaved through the crowd to approach her. The large lizard smiled and motioned at her to follow him. "Consssider yourssself honored to be invited to talk with bosssss Ikraggo, missss...?" he asked her

Returning the tall woman's expression, Hannibal waited for her to finish adjusting her jacket's position, tossing his cigara down and putting it out beneath his boot. His drink was swiftly downed, the cup slyly pawned off on some other passing individual with a bit of fingerwork. He reached his hand out to take her own, pulling on her arm and stepping closer in the same movement. "I do believe I would." was his reply to her earlier question, opposite hand finding its way to her shoulder. His body burned with energy, the chaos and revelry of life thrumming through him through the Force. This was why he liked busy crowds at times, they were places that burned with energy, the lifeblood of the galaxy in his mind no matter what some people thought about secluded groves and the like, nice as they were.

He moved into the music, intuition and whatever his partner did guiding him more than any plan, almost exactly the same as his preferred form of meditation. To Hannibal, that was at least partly what this was, a form of energizing and centering meditation. He would keep up with his partner, not quite trying to lead but certainly not entirely following, only trying to actually move her to avoid half-drunk members of the crowd.

Of course, with his focus on the crowd and the cathar and his allowance of the Living Force to seep through his bones, his suppression was certainly less effective, should anyone nearby be paying attention.

She smirked when he drew her close. Such a sweet young man, taking the lead and pulling her in closer. One arm wrapped around his shoulders, the other at his hip. She loved dancing for one reason; she could forget time, and crowds, and just be alive. And if it was with someone confident in his own ways... all the better.

There was a feeling, almost a spark of something that she could sense from her partner. A sense she had gotten before... almost like another man that had visited her recently. And she allowed him a half-lidded smile, hips swaying to the beat and moving lightly.

Balancing between leading and following, push and pull. The thump of the bass guided, but she let him pull her away from stumbling cheers, missing the call for the racers. She wouldn't have minded stepping in to race herself... but she had her mind on other things. And another person. The whole place seemed to hum with energy, and she moved with it too, tail curling around him with a playful grin on her lips.

Not a bad start, this guy.

Hearing of a party that is taking place Shan felt that checking it out will not be that bad of an idea. Surely there will be someone there just as freaky as himself. So his presence shouldn't bring the party to a crashing halt.

No pun intended of course.

To help make his presence a tad more comfortable for the others attending the gathering Shan left his rifle on board his ship with the two droids. No he does not need the protocol droid, Shan is able to speak basic quite well. Stepping out of the cab speeder he used to get to the location of the party Shan made sure to tip the driver. Turning his back on the driver the Raptor headed in the direction of the building.

As he navigated his way through the crowd, the reptile noted how noisy the place is. Between the sound of racing speeders and excited chatter it will be hard to hear anyone approach him or speak to Shan.

Tucking his clawed hands away to keep himself from accidentally scratching someone as he made his way toward the bar. The claws on his feet gently tapped against the floor as he walked. Coming to a stop at the bar the Tiss waited for the bartender to finish helping another being so that he can order his drink.

Vara took a mental note of the racer she had bet on, hoping to make a few easy credits before the night was over. The young slicer looked over as she saw a Trandoshan coming over to her. She listened to the Trandoshan's request and nodded, knowing better than to turn down a Hutt's request. "Vara. Vara Dramm," she responded to the question as she made her way over to the Hutt and their entourage

Her mind raced as she contemplated why this Hutt was summoning her. Any debts she had were paid and she didn't recall any incident where she may have upset a member of the Cartel. Vara wasn't familiar with this particular Hutt in either name or appearance. They had a distinctly orange-ish tone to them, as well as some sort of growth of mutation she'd not seen prior on a Hutt.

Upon getting within conversation range with the Hutt, Vara nodded her head, knowing that even lesser Hutts held a level of respect that was to be maintained on Nar Shaddaa. She spoke out in Huttese, "Your bodyguard said you requested me, how can I be of service?"

The sound of the slow, bassy music faded somewhat into the background as Hannibal sank into the flow of the Force, some feeling or other passing between himself and the woman he was dancing with. Electric bolts ran through through where they touch, only noticing the cathar's tail winding its way around him for that very reason. His eyes lit up, feeling quite unable to break his gaze away from her. A brief flash of recognition, a twinge of intuition, and his cheeky grin turned into full blown laughter. Of course that's why he was drawn to her. His gut tended to drag him towards other force sensitives even in a crowd. Sinking into the Force made the connection more obvious.

Laughing again he pulled against her, moving to spin her in total defiance to the music which, though it had changed tunes by now, certainly was not spinning music. His attempts at hiding himself in the force forgotten, Hannibal instead let it wash over him in waves, appreciating the cycling connection with the other sensitive.

"I'm Hannibal, by the way." He said at a moment when they had pulled closer together, winking slyly when their movement brought them farther apart.

Kai entered his vehicle, reaching forward and brought his speeder to life while the others continued to hype one another up. The music was the only thing that competed with the thrum of many custom repulsor engines. A lot of it was for show. They're capabilities not far off from normal airspeeders did not stop the plethora of degenerates from feeling pride.

The windows of many airspeeders were rolled down. Kai's was no different. He pulled out his DC-17 blaster pistol, looking at it for a moment in his lap and then stuff it into the console so that he would be able to pull out. There was nothing against messing with the other racers mid race. But part of him believed he would not need it.

The airspeeders pulled away, at least those that were planning to race. They rolled into a floating line pointing down the open street. The upper levels of the Smuggler's Moon seemed to disappear though the view of the evening sky was obstructed from numerous walkways in the distance. There was still a few moments where people could quickly saddle up to the starting line. But it it was coming soon.

The skeletal hands gripped the steering wheel, flexing outward for a moment before returning. His eyes looked to either side, seeing the drivers in their respective seats to either side. A head of them a truck with its open bed sat with an scantly clad twi'lek. She raised what looked like a fire cracker in the air and then lit it. The woman held it, letting the fuse get dangerously close before throwing it high in the air with a joyous grin on her face.

BANG The pyrotechnic signal had Kai slam on the accelerator. He did not even look at the other airspeeders for the first few moments. The punk racer could feel his vehicle strain against the sudden change. Kai could tell from his peripheral vision that he was moving faster than what any of the other racers. But it had only just begun. They could still catch up.

Ikraggo smiled as the woman approached him while the bodyguard returned to his side. "Oh, nothing much, just was interested in you since I noticed that you were looking at me. Besides, I'm always looking for new collaborators, and I couldn't help but notice your beauty too" he said with a playful tone, but then he quickly returned serious. "What about telling me about yo-HEY! Someone's organizing a race and no one warned me about it?? Let's see what's going on" he muttered as he slithered off his seat and out of the building, looking out and chuckling softly. "Oh well... Who wants to place bets on the racers?" he asked loudly so he could be heard over the music

She was loving this.

For the first time in weeks, the stress of what happened to her bar, her change in lifestyle, all of it seemed to melt away from her shoulders, and she could relax in the moment instead of worrying what would happen in the next couple days. Hearing him laugh, though, caused her grin to widen, letting the warmth of movement run through her limbs, up and down her spine. Palms pressed, and the feeling was tingling, pleasant, and her mind was as clear as crystal.

The music changed, and then...

She let him lead her into a spin, then pulled back, back pressed against him and giving a sly grin at his words. "
Nicely met. I'm Nashyr," her voice was warm and full of mischief, gazing up. There was a moment almost like familiarity again... it was like a touch of sunlight on a rainy day, or a whisper close to her ear. All senses were heightened, the colors richer, the smells and sensations almost startlingly sharp and clear. She opened her mouth as if to say something...

And then the sizzle of a pyrotechnic signal caused her head to turn to where the race was beginning, and she grinned wide, tugging at his hand. "
Hope you laid your bets, Hannibal," she almost purred, giving him a wink over her shoulder. "We're off to the races, and it's looking like a good night for me." She came here for one thing, watching a race. The rest of what was going on was just icing on the cake for her night.

The scream of an ion engine briefly intermingled with the music of the event as a masked individual cut into the long line of speeders from out of the blue! The speeder landed somewhere squarely in the middle of the pack, and Brahe gritted his teeth. He wasn't up front yet, but the race was just beginning, and he still had a shot!

He was in his own personal speeder, clearly there for none other than the main event itself- the thrill of the race. Having dyed his hair an icy blue, a mask concealing his identity, the young 18 year old padawan was there not on behalf of the Jedi Order, not on behalf of some shadowy organization, but simply because racing was in his blood. Racing was one of the few activities where he could focus and truly feel as if he was at home. It felt more than thrilling, exhilarating, or fun. It felt like he belonged.

The speeder Brahe drove to the event was an impressive piece of work and rather uncommon in this sector of Nar Shadda. The son of a wealthy business magnate who worked for Sienar-Jaemus Fleet Systems, the unruly teen had an unusually unique access to old TIE parts to mess around with in the time he had for himself. So to describe the type of speeder that had actually arrived to the party was probably the most barebones, trim reduced frame that could accept what appeared to be one of the two ion engines ripped out of an old TIE interceptor model. It was about as insane as strapping a jet engine to a car that had been stripped of all excess, except the jet engine in question had zero trouble with acceleration, and could very well function as a speeder's propulsion system. A rather insane attempt at combining the speed and vector maneuverability of a TIE fighter with what was traditionally supposed to be a repulsorlift design. In fact, the most insane part of it all was that the top speed had actually been LIMITED to 650kph to prevent the engine from tearing the subframe of the speeder apart. A speeder's frame just wasn't designed to handle a starfighter class engine- the fact that this thing was running at all could either be seen as incredibly reckless, or just outright amazing. Perhaps even both, to some onlookers.

If there was any solace to be had in knowing the safety of the design, Brahe had taken the precaution to ensure he was wearing a protective flight suit. He also had his blaster pistol and lightsaber concealed on his body, just in case. Nar Shadda wasn't exactly known to be a safe location. He had a medipack on his person, ready to go just in case of a crash, and the mask/headset he wore functioned much like a flight helmet. The speeder itself might've been a scary thing to behold, but at least he took precautions with what he wore to the venue.

The iconic screeching sound and the sheer insanity of the design itself was of course, all part of the plan. He intended to make a name for himself in these racing circles, and what better way than to show the absolute superiority of the twin ion engine, combined with the skills of a pilot who had pretty much flown all his life? To most people at the venue, it'd be obvious that he was an off worlder, and he intended to keep the mystery of his identity a secret.

He floored the throttle, dodging and weaving through the other racers in an attempt to catch up to Kai.
