Alyse rubbed her bloodshot eyes as she looked up from her work, her tired gaze shifting over towards the wall mounted chronometer, barely being able to read it's face with the flickering of the amber burning flame of the kerosene lamp, reflecting off of the glass front. The blonde haired Sith set down her feather quill and rubbed life back into each of her cramping wrists and aching hands. Before, leaning down and blowing gently onto the parchment before her, attempting to speed up the drying out of the ink. The heavy paper ruffled and drifted, carried by the currents of air being propelled by her breath, with a light groan, the young female swung a hand out to slam down on the stack of parchment before it blew off the side of the table. Once the stack had been secured, Alyse placed the recently completed sheet to the top of a stack of papers that had built up on the edge of her desk. A light sigh escaping her lips as she grabbed a clean sheet to continue with her research, before leaning back in her chair to stretch out her tightening back. With a sigh of completion she glanced around the room, taking in the sight of the small but growing library of scriptures that she had collected over the past year.
Within the secluded study of her modest accommodation, the blonde haired Sith had spent the best part of her time hidden away in the dimly lit chamber, surrounded by the company of her collected books, tomes and scriptures and the ever present amber flickering of the kerosene lamps dotted around the desk and main thoroughfare out of the study. Whilst her current guest had previously voiced her growing concern over how the Sith Guardian appeared to spend most of her waking hours within the study, to Alyse in her eyes she had put the time to good use. Being born into a family that was on the outer fringes of political influence within the Governance that rulled over Bakura, Alyse was raised to be a prolific reader, at first it was everything from fictional novels to school books, but as she grew older her interests moved towards politics and galactic history. Now however her attention and focus was centred around the various galactic myths and fables, that stemmed from the Galaxy's ancient history. Many of which was often jotted down word for word in her own personal journal, finding that where she had transcribed everything into paper, it made life infinitely easier whenever she wanted to revisit and annotate the ever growing compilation of Galactic lore.
Her current project was more ambitious. In the wake of bringing down the temple of the cult that had grown misguided by the deceit of the self Proclaimed Prophet of the Sith, s he had stolen for herself all the witten knowledge and sacred tomes of the Sith cult that she could. Even before she brought the temple crumbling down in her fiery wrath, she had previously ransacked the library for everything she could carry so she could absorb all the knowledge of the Darkside that she could, most of which was held within her room what amounted the sum of all her available knowledge of the Sith ancient and current. Alyse's intent was to pour over all the contents, reading between the lines looking for the slightest clue that might give her lead to the location of where some of the knowledge thought lost to the Sith could be recovered.
She glanced at a stack of papers, each one with a picture, painstakingly drawn with quill and ink, showing an archaic looking solar constellation or an obsqure system, that for all she knew lay hidden out in unknown regions, then again some could point towards the core worlds that had since been irreparably changed due to one of many galactic shifting events that took place over the millennia of recorded time. It had taken her weeks, but she had finally broken the back of capturing every obscure looking foot note she had encountered. Sat next to the stack of parchment sat various holopads and data chips, containing various star charts, one of which was stat slowly orbiting within a lightly shimmering blue projected orb that sat off to the side. The thought crossed Alyse's mind that it would have been much quicker to have a droid transpose them to a computer bank, but it somehow seemed likely that the droid be too literal in it's analysis. A risk that the subtle meanings would be over looked by the droid, which to her would be sacrilege to have the keys to such ancient and important knowledge overlooked by the cold processors of the encumbant protocol droid. .And so she kept reading, reading and writing, reading, writing, and meditating over what she read, trying to understand the hidden meanings to the words her Sith Ancestors had written.
Then again despite the countless hours whiled away within the flickering shadows, there was the hope that she could venture out of the confines of her secluded lodgings, and follow on some of the potential leads she had scribbled away within her journal. Even an exchange with the Sith Legionaire who had taken up residence with her would be welcomed, despite their stark differences.
