Calces Imperium -- Interest Check

Hey guys!

So I recently made a planet (Benegarde) because I'm planning on starting a sorta neo-imperialist steampunk faction based loosely around Victorian England culture and stuff, with a Bioshock effect added in.

So now, the planet got accepted and I need to actually start the faction.

Anyone in?

Do you have anything concrete down? It sounds like an interesting premise, but it would be nice to know more about the goals, direction, alignment, etc.

I know "calces" is Latin for gear, but it is also Catalan for panties... Panties Empire... You might want to reconsider that name.

How would this work on a galactic scale as well? I'm certainly interested in the idea but I just don't see how it would be competitive with other indie factions at all.

I'll be doing an actual write up soon, but basically the faction will revolve around expanding through the galaxy until all or most of it is controlled by Benegarde. I know that's pretty much impossible, but it's a goal, although we most likely won't meet it. Since we start next to Bothan space, we'll be right next to the Mandalorians, and due to our size will try to maintain peaceful relations with them until we take the few squares to the south of us, after which we'll attempt to take Bothan space.

Alignment will be neutral toward the Jedi and Sith, and we'll work on relations with the Mandalorians based on how they treat us and vice versa.

Your character doesn't have to be from Benegarde, because this faction will be more about seizing control over all, something that may be appealing to those that have been wronged by this faction or that, or who simply want an alternative between Sith, Jedi, or Mandalorian.

Our strategic position in the Mid Rim provides us with the opportunity to take trade routes, and so we'll have a bargaining chip against other factions.

I'm still wondering how a relatively technologically inferior people from Beneguarde can expect to take over the galaxy.
Unless of course they actually have modern tech that just looks steampunk. That could work lol.

They're pretty advanced but I could see how that could be misunderstood. Basically, everyone else was making spacecraft and stuff, but Benegarde was turning itself into an industrial powerhouse, and now that they have so much technology available they can make anything from ships to guns
