In the Star Wars D20 books says the following about it:
Miraluka are blind to all wavelengths of light. However, their ability to see through the Force allows them to sense their surroundings as though they could see normally, allowing them to attack and make skill checks without suffering penalties for blindness.

And the see force check says the following:

See Force detects the relative strength of the Force in a place or person, or reveals the presence of other Force-Users. Your See Force check is opposed by the Force Stealth check of another Force-User. If there is someone or something to detect, you spot a glowing line for energy in the Force, more brilliant than the presence of non-Force-users, and mentally follow it to its source.

You can use this skill on a specific target within your sphere of influence (a radius in meters equal to 100 x your Force-user level). On a successful check, the GM reveals whether or not the target is a Force-user (if the target has the Force-Sensitive feat, the target is a Force-user) and, if so, the relative strength of the target’s Force-using ability compared to your own. (If the target has more levels in Force-using classes than you do, the target is more powerful than you are.) You don’t have to be able to see your target, but you should have a general idea that someone’s there. (For instance, you could use See Force on an enemy pilot, even if you couldn’t see him, as long as he was within range.)

You can also use See Force to examine currents and emanations in the Force to reveal the presence of other Force-users within your sphere of influence (which is 100 meters x your Force-user level). Darth Vader used this application to sense Obi-Wan Kenobi on the Death Star in A New Hope.

If there is no Force Stealth check to oppose your See Force check, the DC is 25 minus the Force-user level of the target that could be sensed (you sense the closest target with the first check, and subsequent checks reveal other targets, if there are any, ranging out from there).

I know I'm using stuff from a D20 system but its all I can find reliable.

It sorta is, and it sorta isn't. In both JKJA and KotOR II, Sight was mainly used to see beings (and sometimes items) through walls and such, but I agree: it wasn't really an X-ray vision.

The way they see would be a lot different to us. I think the closest way to think of it would be like infrared vision, though you'd be seeing the Force signatures of living things rather than the body heat. So essentially a Miraluka would probably have problems with anything nonliving, i'd imagine.

all of the above = my opinion only, so...idk.

Slightly edited from a similar question someone had a while ago.

How isn't that like x-ray vision

trans⋅lu⋅cent
permitting light to pass through but diffusing it so that persons, objects, etc., on the opposite side are not clearly visible.

I wouldn't call that x-ray vision, although I would say that they'd be able to get a sense of something on the other side of a wall, more so if it were Force-sensitive, much less so if it were inorganic.

That's just my take on it.

Its used to sense living beings and objects that have force with them. I don't think they can see things like hidden blasters or poles.

Bingo. If walls appear transluscent, so to would all other thing, like concealed blasters. In fact, concealed weaponry would be really hard to spot between the translucency effect and the Force Aura that washes off of every living being.
