Character Profile Templates

Thank you for taking the time to read about the templates for your character's profile. Please note that we have two different types of profile templates: the Form Profile Template and the Literary Profile Template. You will learn more about these templates in the next two posts. Please note that while we don't require you to have every section from these templates in your profile, it is strongly encouraged that you do so. Also, character names, their personality and their back story are all required in the template so we ask you to take the time in writing those out.

Please also be aware that you are required to have a certain amount of words in the profile in order for it to be considered legitimate. If you follow one of the templates, there must be at least fifty words in the personality and fifty words in the history. If you do not follow a template and write in prose, there must be at least one hundred words to the profile in terms of narrative. If you do not follow a template and write in poetry, there is a fifty word minimum to the poem. If you want a poem that is less than fifty words, for example, you must add a paragraph of one hundred words of description or story to the bottom of the profile.
PLEASE NOTE: Saying that your profile is a work in progress does not exempt you from the guidelines in the previous paragraph. All profiles must meet those requirements when they are posted.
Despite this, you do not need to wait for your profile to be approved before you begin role-playing. Once you post your profile you are free to begin role-playing immediately. However, please recognize that if users make legitimate complaints about the contents of your profile, then you will need to change it to correct any mistakes that they point out.

Finally, when writing a profile, additional posts should only be reserved if the first post has more than four images. If you do not intend to use more than four images in your profile, please keep all profile information in the first post. Any reserved posts for a profile that has less than four images and remains that way for one week will be deleted, or if there is profile information there it will be merged with the first post.

Character Limit

As of June 13, 2010, players are only allowed a total of ten (10) role-playing characters at one time. Should a player wish to create additional characters, they must retire or put on hold as many characters as they wish to create.

Remember, the RP Profiles board is a board to post characters for actual use, not just to create characters for the sake of creating characters. Creating new characters is great! However, characters for the sake of characters is best left for the Fan Works board or the Star Wars Fanon wiki.

This rule does not apply retroactively. Any user who currently has more than the allowable number of characters is free to keep said characters. However, that is the absolute maximum they are allowed to use. As with normal circumstances, if a user in that position wishes to create additional characters, they must retire or put on hold as many characters as they wish to create; if you have 12 characters (for example) and wish to create a new character, you must retire 1 character so you do not go above 12.

Thanks,
The Star Wars RP Staff
