Chiss Ascendancy
Chiss Ascendancy Missions

miss.png

The following is a list of missions available to Chiss or Sith/Imperial characters. For any missions involving an enemy faction, contact the leaders of that faction to get role players from their side involved.

To sign up for a mission, just post in this thread.

Missions marked in red are taken and closed.

Missions marked in Green are taken but still open.

When you have completed a mission, PM one of the Chiss Leaders and they will look over your mission for you.

You can request a specific format for how they look at it in your PM. Any of these three can offer writing assistance, help with more efficiently completing mission objectives, help with NPC/PC interaction, etcetera. Don't worry, the goal is to have fun, so take any and all of our suggestions with a grain of salt.

If your mission is given a letter grade (in decreasing order from best to worst: S, A, B, C, D, F), you are expected to place it next to a link to the mission in your character's profile. The "S" grade will only be awarded in missions of great importance and/or with secret objectives, and the "A" grade will be quite hard to achieve, so don't be discouraged if your first few missions get B or C grades while you are still figuring things out - it's par for the course and there's no reason to worry about it.

Much of this information will be reiterated in the "Ranking Up Guidelines" thread.

Through missions you can earn Chiss Medals.

Terrestrial Missions

Recently, a downed ship has been discovered crash landed on a moon. It is believed to be a military ship that has been missing for over a decade. When soldiers were sent to recover logs from it, they discovered it was filled with dangerous gases from the atmosphere of the moon and, to their surprise, droch swarms.

For thousands of years, strict guidelines have been put in place to keep Drochs from spreading. However, it seems that the late crew ignored them, which most likely led to their deaths.

Drochs are plague-bearing insects that detest light from any source. When exposed to light, they become sluggish and infertile. The moment they're returned to darkness, however, they move quickly and reproduce at an alarming rate. As if this weren't bad enough, a droch has the ability to burrow inside a host, rapidly killing it from the inside. The corpse then becomes a safe lair and a source of food for the droch and it's brood.

Objective: Fight through the swarms of drochs to retrieve the logs then destroy the infested ship.
Risk rating: Moderate [Character death may result if you are negligent and underestimate the lethality of the droch swarms, and WEAR ARMOR]

Slots and NPCs:
2-4 PCs of any rank willing to go on the mission.
1 person to NPC the droch swarms waiting for you.

A viral outbreak (of a virus long thought to be extinct) has become a pandemic on a heavily populated colony. The knowledge of the cure is believed to be held within a holocron stored in the Great Library. However, the keepers of the library discovered that someone has removed the holocron from its rightful place.

Objective: Find out who took the holocron and bring him to justice before it's too late for the people of the colony. Leads have led authorities to believe the thief has escaped to the colony itself, strangely. [You do not need to roleplay the results of finding the cure in the holocron. Get in, find it, and get out.]
Risk rating: Unknown [Depending on how you conduct the insertion and retrieve the holocron, you could go completely unharmed, but you might be overwhelmed by delirious plague-bearers.

Slots and NPCs:
2-3 PCs
1 neutral party to NPC the thief

Abstract: You may leave this colony unnamed or place it on a planet on the fringes of Chiss space. Consult the faction territories map if necessary.

Ilum is another iceball world of the Unknown Regions that is of little interest to most aside from the caves that hold potent crystals that're used to power lightsabers. Recently there have been a series of riots resulting in oddly high casualty counts for local police forces. The military had been dispatched to aid in keeping order but their presence has only served to make things worse. To further complicate things, a few of the officer's and soldier's bodies were found with markings suggesting they'd been killed by a lightsaber wielder.

Objective: Intelligence agents believe a Force cult has dug its roots into the area, likely based out of one of the crystal caverns, and is the cause of the violence. Your team has been sent to investigate and ultimately bring down this cult through whatever means necessary.

Slots and NPCs:
3 PCs with at least one captain or up.
1 NPC

Combat simulations have greatly improved many soldiers' skills.

Objective: Join in a combat simulation.
Risk rating: None [Character death is impossible in this mission unless it is for whatever reason sabotaged by another player, group or faction. However, you will be graded on your performance in the simulator, so do not goof off]

Slots and NPCs: Up the the discretion of the role players.

Space Missions

En route to the location of a mission, a star ship has randomly exited out of hyperspace, hurtling towards your transit ship with an inevitable collision course. Unmarked and unfamiliar, this ship is sure to be that of Hyperspace explorers, or even escaped criminals on the run from randomly entered coordinates. The ships collide and snap together, their sides locked with failing engines, and no means to separate yourself. Luckily, the side of your own ship against the rudely arrived guest is the docking air-lock.

Objective: Board and take control of the ship while discovering that the crew is dead by an assassin who is still on board. Kill or capture the assassin.
Risk rating: High

Slots and NPCs:
1-3 PCS: Chief Chosposi
1 NPCer to play the assassin.

An emergency call for help has been picked up at a Chiss outpost leading out to the open void of space. It is unknown whether or not the crippled ship carries friend or foe, whether a trap is to be sprung or your squad rewarded for their assistance. A single ship will be given to the investigation team to find the ship and retrieve as many valuables and data as possible.

Objective: Locate a crippled friendly ship either being attacked or pillaged and fight off the attackers. Board and investigate the ship, discovering an ambush of pirates inside the vessel.
Risk rating: Varies [Character death can be greatly dependent on the specifics of each mission]

Slots and NPCs:

2-3 PCs of any rank: Die Shize, Black Noise
1-2 NPCers playing pirates

The Chiss Ascendancy is plagued by piracy across many of its sectors. These range from adolescent whelps looking for infamy to organized operations spanning the breadth of the galaxy. While many of these missions are considered routine duties for a soldier to complete, exemplary performance may yield great benefits.

Objective: Eliminate pirate operations in any given sector of the galaxy.
Risk rating: Varies [Character death can be greatly dependent on the specifics of each mission]

Slots and NPCs: Up the the discretion of the role players.

Bhesric Dazeshiel is an up-and-coming emperor of spice smuggling. He's also as callous as a rancor in bed with a krayt dragon, and isn't afraid to flex his cruelty muscles in the slightest. Your job is to infiltrate his burgeoning criminal enterprise and become his trusted adviser before finally arresting him. If that's not possible, his death and your escape from the Smoking Gun (his flagship) is a satisfactory outcome. Not as clean as the Chiss would prefer, but in matters like these one cannot always afford to be delicate, and if Bhesric is allowed to go unchecked he could be a very serious thorn in our side before long.

Objective: Infiltrate Bhesric's organization and work your way up the chain of command till you're allowed a private audience with him. Arrest him and smuggle him off his flagship unnoticed. If you're not able to do this then kill him or simply vanish, your life is the priority. Your character's false identity is already sorted out, all you need to do is play your part and play it well.

Risk rating: High [Character death is a very possible outcome if your character does not make the right choices in dealing with Bhesric; in the beginning more than anything, but if you test his patience he will become suspicious. This means your character may have to get their hands dirty in order to earn his trust]

Slots and NPCs:-taken
Black Noise
Zen

1-2 neutral third parties to NPC Bhesric and his cronies.-------

Abstract: This mission will take place over the course of several threads, at least three and up to as many as five. When finding someone to NPC the mission for you, be sure to notify them of this fact. The mission is the kind that makes careers - if you succeed, the possibility that you will be promoted one rank or even two is almost a certainty.

Special Missions

Exactly what it says on the tin. Participating in main threads is an excellent way to build on your character's career, and may result in quick promotions, medals of honor, etc.

Objective: Succeed in the main and secondary objectives of the Main Thread.
Risk rating: Varies [Main threads can be battles, skirmishes, infiltrations, etc, so there is almost always a measure of risk involved but it varies quite substantially]

Slots and NPCs:
Varies

Unaffiliated Missions

NOTE: Unaffiliated missions are missions undertaken by independent characters or factions.
NOTE 2: All missions are to be taken as private contracts. The reward for completion is negotiable before you begin the mission. This may be handled in character or out of character at your discretion.
