"The Force is a gift, and we must give back"

Pretext

The Sacellum of Ilum is a religious temple built by Eriana Fox to study the Dark side of the Force. Followers of the Sacellum believe the Dark side is not a tool but a gift, one in which should be praised for its generosity. Speakers of the Sacellum devote their lives to sharing the clarity that the temple has shared with them: that if the Sith continue to use the Dark side for greed, they will inevitably fail. Only in cleansing themselves of their selfish desires will they once again rise to the glory that has kept the Imperium strong and unyielding for five centuries.

Devotion to the mystical deity will grant the true believers purpose in otherwise troubling times. They serve not for the glory of their own lives, but for truth in a meaningful life and what lies beyond. Speakers of the Sacellum understand that emotions can blind and confuse a person. Rage leads to regret. Pride leads to arrogance. Vanity leads to seclusion. Only in purging oneself from these lesser emotions can a Sith truly rise to the power offered to them. Anything less will lead to failure. True belief, true zealotry is what grants a Sith power. Devotion, by its very meaning stands to draw emotion from deep within one's soul. It cannot be argued, it cannot be tainted, it cannot be doubted. This way of faith is what will make a person great and their actions rewarded in kind.

The Dark side of the Force gives to her children. When we draw from its well without permission it weakens the bonds and fractures the structure. The Sacellum teaches to be thankful for the gifts. In prayer, the believers give thanks and praise. They worship the Dark side in collective groups, or share in spreading the word throughout the known universe. Members of the church never use the Dark side unless it is deemed necessary, for greed is a sin and must be washed away. They lead by example, showing their fellow brothers and sisters a better way.

The Sacellum's true purpose is to unify the Sith both from the Imperial Republica as well as the rightful leaders of the galaxy: Old Empire. All Sith are welcome should they choose to believe in the Dark side as their savior. For generations Force users have only ever called upon the mystical powers to use it how they saw fit. This applied to the Jedi as well. The Dark side proved the stronger of the two, but if things do not change then the Sith will be the ones to fall this time around. Unification in zeal will make the Sith strong and whole again. Only then can the combined forces quell the rebellions in the Outer Rims and bring peace the Galaxy once more. It must be done as a whole, and with pure spiritual belief.

Structure

While the Sacellum is young, the church is ever growing. Founded on the cold planet of Ilum, the icy caverns are a nexus in the Force giving a powerful spiritual connection to anyone within its halls. Led by the High Priestess who teaches the truth to all her children, Eriana never neglects a willing devotee. She is helped by the Arch-priest or priestess who takes on the role of protecting not just the High Priestess but the church as a whole. After all, without their mother, how can children learn to grow? Devotees of any rank within the Imperial Republica are welcomed into the Sacellum. They are called Speakers, for it is there task to share the knowledge of the Sacellum with the universe. Their zeal is what matters, not their strength.

Baptism

To become a Speaker, the first step is merely walking through the door. The High Priestess welcomes all supporters of the church, even those who do not hear the Word of the Force. Just because they cannot use the gift given to others does not mean they should be banned from its love and protection. The second step is to learn the truth, and that is to say the Force is all powerful, all knowing, and every loving. Embracing in the truth, one will have a need to return the love. The church accepts a tithe of only one's time and thought. Prayers must be heard and so the High Priestess expects all her children to attend mass if within the temple walls. Once the new initiate has let the loving spirit in, they are then ceremoniously baptized in the chilled water of Ilum's largest pool. The water from the frozen pond -which has been surrounded by Kyber crystals- is melted only for the rite of passage and dripped down the new Speaker's forehead. They are then blessed and cleansed in the Force and from there have earned the right to share their knowledge and love of the Dark side to all who may hear his/her voice.

Intent

This group is meant to bring a new ideology to the Sith way of life. Much of the Sith teachings demonstrate power and demand strength. This can lead to inner faction disputes which is why the Old Empire has left the Imperium at the beginning of the timeline. The Sacellum is Eriana's method of bringing the Sith to unite once again under the guidance of the Force which has given them all their powers they so selfishly use for their own gain. My intent is to have a group of Dark side followers who wish to see a higher calling in their roleplay and tell a different story than greed and conquests of power.

THE_ENTRANCE
Ilum's icy temperament makes travelling to the Sacellum difficult on foot. Ships can land nearby, though not directly near the temple itself which has been carved into the foot of one of its many glacial landscapes. Those familiar with its location have been granted access to its hangar, but for newcomers they must endure the elements on their own. The temple, built with the finest Imperial design available, stands as a glorious tribute to the Empire and all those under her command. While most of the groundwork is made of ice, carefully placed durasteel beams hold up the foundation within as well as stone and sturdy wood in the more traversed areas to make the inside feel as familiar as possible to those who have joined. While the Sacellum has its doors open to anyone wishing to seek its knowledge, it is well protected and guarded to not only ensure the safety of the Head Priestess and Arch Priest, but all the Speakers and Initiates that are housed within the icy walls. Forty elite troops sworn to serve under the Head Priestess patrol the temple grounds both inside and out to ensure no one comes around to harm the Sacellum and what it stands for.

THE_HANGAR
Carefully cut into a section of the icy mountain, the Sacellum has in its hold a fleet of thirty Crux-class starfighters as well as two Vector-class shuttles (acquired -HERE-). Thanks to the loyal work of the Head Priestess within the Sith Empire (acquired from -HERE-), she herself as tasked an Audacious-class corvette named The Chilling Tempest to protect and monitor Ilum from it's orbit. She has also enlisted the use of a Celtic-3 mining & manufacturing vessel (The Frozen Gale) to not only create metalwork from nearby asteroids, but Kyber taken from the planet itself.

THE_TEMPLE
There are two parts to the Sacellum's inner halls: the temple itself and the inner sanctum. At the front of the temple's main hall stands its holy altar where the Head Priestess will bless and give communion to her followers. The long narrow halls of the temple work as tunnels in the cavern's of Ilum. There are many corridors that lead all the up into to the peak of the mountain where it is coldest. There are many private inner chambers in which one can pray, whereas one might simply wish to sit in the halls and stare at the beauty of the inner caverns.

THE_INNER_SANCTUM
Not all of the Sacellum is built of stone and metal. Much of its inner caverns have been etched out from history past. Deep down beyond the Sacellum's grand altar are sights unparalleled to anything else in this galaxy. Icy chambers filled with Kyber crystals light the way to the darker corridors of Ilum. Some caverns, still yet to be found, contain gardens of ice crystals as big as or larger than an average person. The most wondrous of all these landmarks is the running waterfall made from pure melted Kyber that extends to a lake so pure it is said to cleanse any impurities. It is here new members are baptized into the Sacellum and are forgiven of all past transgressions. But some of these wonders are still uncharted from the scorn of battles centuries ago. These paths that lead further into the dark are off limits to any members of the church until their mysteries can be solved.

THE_BARRACKS
While most of the Sacellum is exposed to the frigid elements of Ilum, the living quarters and main temple were designed to protect against the cold. Several heating units are built into the chambers to give them impressions of fire places while working as furnaces. The overall look of the church is meant to lean away from technology as much as possible, which is why most of the decor is made of wood and stone. While members can choose to sleep in personal quarters, there are several open areas in which they can commune with and interact with others. One such location is the dinning hall where no expense has been spared to make sure the finest cooking is available. Members can also choose to eat or converse at any of the several conference halls should they so desire. If one is trusted enough, one might even be allowed to visit The Priestess' personal wing where she has made for herself a large bath chamber heated from the furnaces under her floor.

THE_UNIFORM
While no official uniform is required of her members, the Sacellum does off a fancy white and gold set of robes meant to draw attention to their holy name. As Speakers, it is their duty to spread the name of the Church and the Word of the Head Priestess, so naturally a wardrobe that catches the eye is best suited for the challenge. Like all other sets of armor dawned by the Sith, the ensemble is fitted with Duraplast plates and fashioned with Phrik alloy gauntlets for battle. With all the gear on (not included the robes on top of it), the suit does work as heavy enforcer armor so members can choose to exchange certain pieces of their own should they not want to be encumbered.

Religious zealotry and laser swords? You have my attention.
I will create a Sith specifically for this.
Just sign up when you are ready ^.^

Id love to do threads about getting recruited if thats a thing.

@Cainhurst Crow , I can do a thread with you if you would like. Or, would you prefer to do it with either @Doomfingers or @KinkyPrawn since they are also now Speakers? If would give Kinky his first mission within the group to recruit more members. Thoughts from either of you?
