Name: Cyrillia
Coordinates: O-12
Hyperlane: Nanth'ri Route and Ootmian Pabol
Intent: To develop an existing planet, with more detail. Also, I hope to see the Czerka Corporation expanding across the planet over the next 6-8 months, and I would like to be able to do it with some neat 'LORE!' in the background. Plus, it may soon become a republic world!
Climate: A Highly Industrialized world, the seasons of which are controlled by the companies who operate the various zones of Industry on the Planet. With most people living in habitation zones, the climate within these zones is often temperate or sunny, however in the lower areas of the city - in which the unregistered inhabitants live, there is no registered climate.
Terrain: There is no noted terrain. Most terrain has been terra-formed and is now covered in Cities or Industrial Zones.
Rotation: The Planet does have a usual day and night cycle however, due to the climatic controls, few people notice.
Inhabitants: 3 Billion Cyrillians occupying the lower levels. 220 Million Humans occupying habitation zones.
Resources: There are no resources of considerable note on the planet.
Government: Corporate Oligarchy - Each of the major companies (ranked on Market Capitalization) takes control of one of the 25 'Council' seats in the Chamber that rules the planet. There are few laws, with each company tending to manage their own affairs.
Culture: The planet has a very unique culture, with a vast divide between the native Cyrillians and the Human/Others that are imported to work. With the Cyrillians required to work in the factories that dot the surface of the planet, the humans and others enjoy a life inside habitation spheres, owned by the companies, which rest atop the factory-scapes, providing islands of luxury living. Each Habitation Zone is effectively a large dome that acts as a biosphere, with the immigrating species living inside. Most companies then move their employees via MagLev train to the factories and towers that the occupy, with most Humans and immigrants doing the high paid work, and the natives working for next to nothing in the factories. This has lead to a culture that sees most of the Immigrants working short hours, and spending that vast majority of their time using services, retail and other such services. The planet is famed for its tourism, as well as its high standard of living for the non-natives.
Technology: Very advanced, with personal services and luxury items common, such as hover-chairs. The amount of manufacturing that takes place makes the planet very advanced in terms of efficiency of production. Alongside this the planet has a great deal of automotive droid labor in addition.
Satellites: There are no moons around the planet, however there are a great deal of man-made satellites, that make a permanent screen around the planet. Due to the thick layer of the waste around the planet, it is required that tractor beams be used to move the waste out of the way of arriving ships.
History: First discovered in 20,000 BBY, the planet was soon taken over by Core-World Colonists, who forced the Natives into servitude. During the Sith-Republic War, it was invaded and turned into a fortress world, before being liberated by the Republic at the conclusion of the war. Given the damage done to the world in the war, the Republic was slow to deal with the Planet, and as such Companies soon moved into the world, their vice like grip soon sinking into the planet.
Serv-O Droid, Czerka and BlasTech where some of the biggest companies to claim sections of the planet, and soon they formed a Council, in which ones worthiness to be on the Council was judged by the market-cap of the company. They ripped the planet clean of all its resources, and soon built more and more refineries and factories on the planet, removing the atmosphere for the sake of profit.
As such, they had to place satellites in orbit to control the environment, but even this was not enough - as the City took over the entire world. Building Bio-Domes to secure the lifestyle to which the employees of the company had become accustomed, the Biospheres soon became the go to location for mass consumerism, and within the Bio-Domes nobody could walk more than 5 meters without another advert targeting them, another product tempting them in.
It was for this that the planet became famous, manufacturing serving as a means to prop up the Hab-Zones, securing their reputation as a shopping destination of choice, and a tourist hotspot.
