DESCRIPTION​

The D-7 Carbine is actually an adaptation and update of one of Rim-Fire Munitions earlier models, the 2-C Pistol, a precursor to their current 4-C Line. The carbine was developed in response to consumer feedback lamenting the fact that the various models in Rim Fire's rifle line up were simply too long and heavy for many of their customers, and that their pistol lineup was too short ranged and lacked adaptability. The companies development and marketing teams collaborated on the issue, and determined that the company should offer a mid-sized weapon to fill the gap between their existing product lines. And thus, the D-7 was born.

Never a company to let ideas and surplus stock go to waste, the base of the D-7 is built on the old 2-C frame with its distinctive inverted nose cone. The developers added a light weight shoulder stock, updated the circuitry with hardware from their rifle line, and included an attachment point on the top side of the frame for optics and other gadgetry. The finished product blurs the line between pistol and rifle. It is popular with small beings in search of a shoulder fired weapon that isn't longer than they are, and with pilots who like to keep a small cockpit blaster on hand without cramping their already limited space. It's small size has also found it a home in the hands of security forces on urban worlds, where close quarters battle in small rooms and around tight corners is likely.
