Zashtee stepped away from the stall, the new knife clasped to his belt. The padawan lacked a lightsaber, but this primitive weapon would serve its purpose. The young Togruta had not planned on returning to Shili so soon, but recent revelations were calling him to come to terms with himself. He noticed the streets were especially lively on this day, one crowd more so than the others. As he approached, Zashtee heard one of the Togrutan men shout, "That beast will be the end of us all!" It didn't take much knowledge for a Shili native to know what the man was talking about. Akul were notorious for terrorizing the grasslands, especially the outlying villages.

Upon a closer look, Zashtee noticed one of the men on the ground, clutching a deep crimson stained bandage wrapped around his leg. Someone else shouted, "It's already killed three people this week!" Lacking in medical skills and a rudimentary understanding of the Force, there was nothing Zashtee could do for the injured man. There was one thing he could do, though. Adverting his eyes from the grisly scene, he ran his finger down the newly purchased weapon. Zashtee thought to himself, "An Akul that dangerous has to be put down."

As more people began to engulf the crowd, Zashtee pushed his way to the back. He already had a good bearing on where to start looking for the creature. The nearest village was only a few hours away, a quick trip by land speeder. If he rented one now, he could be tracking the beast by nightfall. Hurriedly getting underway, Zashtee made his way to the nearest speeder shop.

"This place is a real dump." Kendar Samuels never really encountered a more lively planet than Tatooine, but he endlessly disliked the endless grasslands of Shili. The grass did little to cushion his feet like the sand did and the dirt beneath was unsuccessful in doing so as well.

Kendar made sure his disguised slugthrower was strapped onto his back, since he did not want to be anywhere near his prey. Getting the fairly illegal Tuskan Cycler Rifle here was a pain, as he had to disguise it as a more advanced blaster and also had to produce a fake Hunter's ID, which was kindly provided to him by his employer.

The task the gunman has been presented with was fairly simple. He needed to get a few Akul's teeth for a lot of credits. Of course, Kendar took the job not exactly knowing what it will entail. If someone had told him these things were probably has dangerous as Krayt Dragon's, he probably would have declined.

Making sure his Treadspeeder was in good shape, he overheard rumors about a recent Akul that has attacked the surrounding villages three times now. However he was interrupted when he saw a Togruta man, his leg bandaged, clearly a victic of a recent Akul attack. He decided that asking him for some directions would probably be wise. He stood up from his Treadspeeder and started walking towards the man.

Renting the speeder went rather hurriedly, something Zashtee was thankful. He was well aware that as a Jedi, he should not be seeking out the encounter with such enthusiasm. The anticipation was pulsating through his veins just as thick as blood. It was ironic. The Tpgrutan had returned to Shili to find peace with himself, yet here he was engrossed in the culture that betrayed him.

A light thump could be heard as the Togrutan's pack fell into the passenger side seat of the speeder. The pack was soon followed by the red skinned Togruta as he hopped over the opposite side of the speeder. The roar of the repulsorlift starting drowned out any current thought he might have had. Zashtee muttered under his breath, "It won't be long, now."

Although Shili had progressed to space faring technology, the grasslands still felt wild and untamed. The landscape was covered in a sea of rolling hills and emerald green grass. Every few kilometers Zashtee would pass yellowish brown forest like patches that had been long unattended by grazing beasts. It was uneasy to think about what could be hiding in them. Unfortunately, many Togruta children found out the hard way.

As the skyline turned to a creamy orange hue, a village came into viewing distance. It was likely the villagers would have more information to give than the citizens of the capitol. Though still heavily seated in culture, those that chose to live in the more modern setting tended to fall out of touch with the natural state of things. Zashtee shut off the speeder and grabbed his pack as he exited. "So, this is where it starts," Zashtee thought to himself.

It didn't take long until the injured man told Kendar where the attack had happened. It was close to one of the villages, that wasn't too far away. Of course a few people were curious as to why and offworlder was searching for the beast, but the long blaster on his back was all the answers they needed.

Kendar got onto his Treadspeeder and began making his way towards the village. The familiar deserts and dunes of Tatooine replaced with Shili's own endless green grass. It was a significant change in scenery for the young male as he barely noticed the sun going down. The new landscape made for a fine distraction during his travels.

As he approached the village, he noticed that it wasn't very modern looking. Older huts and houses dotted the landscape, almost reminiscent of the igloo shaped housing of his homeworld. Kendar had also noticed the out of place looking speeder and a Togruta leaving it, but he heeded it no mind Might be a courier or someone delivering supplies, he thought. Parking closer to the speeder, he shut off his own Treadspeeder and began disassembling the fake blaster parts on his slugthrower as they prevent the gun from actually firing. He does not want to be caught unprepared, especially when dealing with those beasts.

The air was filled with stagnation. Typically the settlements were lively, full of life. Today, however, an unprecedented gloom hung over the village. In the place of everyday busy work, the native Togruta could be seen sitting around, quietly talking among themselves. Not even the children were running amok in the village center. In fact, the only thing of note going on was a group of Togruta investigating something on the edge of the village, though Zashtee was unable to see what they were looking at.

The sound of another speeder approached. Zashtee turned to see it park beside his own, rented one. When the speeder went silent, he approached with a friendly wave in tow. "Hello, friend," he said looking upon the human. "Might be best to avoid the area today. There's an especially viscous Akul in the area." He turned his head back to the village center. "Looks like this settlement might have just experienced another attack, recently."

After taking a few more steps closer to the speeder, Zashtee noticed the slugthrower. A pit grew in the Jedi's stomach. Most off worlders did not travel out to the settlements, so he knew something was amiss. Thinking back on the scene in the city, Zashtee was confident he had a good idea why the man was here. "You're here to kill it," he stated calmly.

It seemed the beast had already done it's attack on the village. Kendar noticed the large discrepancy between the number of people roaming around and the amount of housing. At best everyone was hiding. At worst... well he didn't want to think about the worst case scenario. The small group gathered on the outskirts of the village did ease his mind a small amount.

Kendar than noticed the Togruta with the speeder waving towards him, before warning him of the Akul that was around this area. This reaffirmed Kendar that he was on the right track. It was really a matter of time before he tracked it down.

Kendar was about to respond, but as the Togruta got closer he seemed to notice Kendar putting away his fake blaster parts and in turn his slugthrower. A few moments of silence passed as the two stared at each other. "You're here to kill it." It wasn't a question, it didn't have to be one.

"Yes." He stated back. He didn't see a reason to lie to the Togruta, especially when he had caught Kendar preparing his rifle. He hurriedly put away the remaining fake blaster parts in his Treadspeeder, before facing the Togruta, waiting for his answer.
