Zashtee stepped away from the stall, the new knife clasped to his belt. The padawan lacked a lightsaber, but this primitive weapon would serve its purpose. The young Togruta had not planned on returning to Shili so soon, but recent revelations were calling him to come to terms with himself. He noticed the streets were especially lively on this day, one crowd more so than the others. As he approached, Zashtee heard one of the Togrutan men shout, "That beast will be the end of us all!" It didn't take much knowledge for a Shili native to know what the man was talking about. Akul were notorious for terrorizing the grasslands, especially the outlying villages.
Upon a closer look, Zashtee noticed one of the men on the ground, clutching a deep crimson stained bandage wrapped around his leg. Someone else shouted, "It's already killed three people this week!" Lacking in medical skills and a rudimentary understanding of the Force, there was nothing Zashtee could do for the injured man. There was one thing he could do, though. Adverting his eyes from the grisly scene, he ran his finger down the newly purchased weapon. Zashtee thought to himself, "An Akul that dangerous has to be put down."
As more people began to engulf the crowd, Zashtee pushed his way to the back. He already had a good bearing on where to start looking for the creature. The nearest village was only a few hours away, a quick trip by land speeder. If he rented one now, he could be tracking the beast by nightfall. Hurriedly getting underway, Zashtee made his way to the nearest speeder shop.
