Update: Due to the lack of sign-ups — specifically the level disparity between the Jedi and the Sith — we are conceding this battle to the Sith. This is not a decision I enjoyed making. I want to see this faction succeed and, at the very least, defend itself. But I refuse to send lower level members into a fight they cannot possibly win. That said, I do want to sincerely thank those who did sign-up.

I also want to use this as a moment to address the faction as a whole. While I understand many of our members are busy, either with work or school, and cannot commit to the necessary time constraints presented by PvP (I am, unfortunately, one of those due to my own work and school schedule), I am concerned by the amount of chatter I saw on Discord about outright refusing to participate in PvP to defend faction assets and planets. This does not bode well for us, folks. This timeline, in my opinion, is all about actions and the consequences of those actions; this will be no different with the factions. If a faction's membership refuses to defend its assets, those assets will continue to be lost battle-after-battle, and that faction will—when it reaches the appropriate size—be reduced to an Indie faction.

This is not a fate I want to see of the Jedi Order, and I expect many of you feel the same way; but if we continue to refuse to staff PvPs to defend the faction that will, nevertheless, be the result. Neither myself, nor Jedi Leadership, nor anyone in the staff cannot force you all into PvP. Jedi Leadership cannot also staff every single battle. We've been doing quite a bit to build up the faction's resources of late, and between that and our own real-life schedule, we can't always staff battles alone.

So, if you don't participate, that is your right. Just realize that continued refusal will have consequences, not only for the Jedi Order, but for the others who want to be a part of this faction. In other words, your decisions affect everyone. Please reflect on this and consider it when future opportunities for battles come up.

I'm sure this has already been discussed somewhere, and I'm sure there must be a good reason why this wasn't implemented here but humor me... why not add character level requirements/restrictions so this kind of thing doesn't happen?

Because the Jedi were given the opportunity to even things out with their levels/ganging up on higher levels and still didn't meet that number. In the past level restrictions also presented a challenge for getting sign ups on the Jedi side. It's mostly an interest problem.

I apologize. I just read all this. If I had known about it sooner (no ones fault but mine for not paying attention) I would’ve thrown my Jedi into it as well.
I have noticed that the Sith do have a lot more higher leveled characters than the Jedi do (unless I’m mistaken)... which means we need to do more to correct that right? Or like Malon said, we need to take back that which has been lost. Maybe it’s time the Jedi went on the offensive? :)
