Hey DSS,

I'll leave this short and sweet, but we need to recruit. DSS has lots of plans but not lots of hands, so the more people we get in the better.

Ask around. Everyone who gets accepted is on a need-to-know trial period before they come in, so information leaks aren't an issue. Still, try for mostly Hutt-loyal people.

Thanks!

I've got four recruits trying out, and two people who PMed me interested in joining. Right now we probably have 8 members.

Theres lots of things in the working. More hands the better aslong as they can be trusted. Otherwise I'd rather a small amount to a large amount.

Well, we're going to need Force-sensitives. Lots of them. Our war now involves the Bogan, which, though not as significant a threat (despite Brandon's insistence) as the Republic-Jedi threat, is still full of Force users. The Hutts need to counter this with their own.

I have other suggestions on how to deal with this, but it doesn't involve DSS. Perhaps I'll put up a thread in the Emperor's chambers, or just PM you, Santoro.

DSS isn't just PC's it's also NPCs. We also have DSG.

Having a lot of PC's though, isn't always a bad thing, however, since Darksaber is secretive, a large group of them might be difficult to manage.

If it comes down to it, and you need large amounts of dark side PC's, you could always have Darksaber Genesis be the "secretive" organization, like Darksaber is now, and have Darksaber become a standard Dark Side organization under the Hutt banner. This way, promising members of DSS could still be recruited into DSG, but the Hutts would also have their counter to the Bogan and the Jedi.

To best honest, I don't see the Bogan as a big threat. I don't think we need to change DSS just because of that.

The Bogan aren't that a big a threat by themselves, but all together with our other foes, they still pose a threat.

We face the Jedi, whom just kicked the Bogan's proverbial ass at Noob Hill; they've changed a lot. We also face the Republic, and though I'm not convinced Adena will actually pull off any of the "major offensives" that she claims she will, its still something to watch out for. Now we're facing not just the Bogan dark siders, but also their regular military and navy.

We're going to need to adjust our tactics for this. We'll need more Force-sensitives, and possibly more Mandos to balance this out. Its not going to be an easy task to fight a two front war against three opponents without changing ourselves up a bit.

Not going to get into a big talk now because I haven't slept yet.

But the Bogan face the Jedi along with us. Don't forget that. And if adena stop's..uhm... if adena smartens up and start helping the Jedi they'll also face the Republic.

DSS is going to remain secret. It's nowhere near big enough to go public IC- maybe only a few thousand people at this point, and its purpose can't be public. DSS does the dirty work the Emperor can't be associated with, so DSS won't go public- the most that'll be allowed is speculation and paranoia about Tusa's agents.

Now that the Bogan have pulled out, we can start accepting PCs for DSG as well as DSS. DSS will continue their sabotage efforts while DSG will (in addition) focus on fighting force sensitives.

Once this mission gets done at Bilbringi, I'll start working my character towards DSG then. Fighting Force-sensitives is something I'd like to consider myself good at.

Force sensitives are the last thing Darksaber needs. If anything, we need more non-Force sensitive members trained to kill Jedi. That way we can utilize certain equipment crippling to Force users such as ysalamir and taozin. The Bogan would be clay in our hands if we had assassins using taozin to eliminate key Bogan members and line up raids with ysalamir as protection.

I was planning on doing this with the Mandos, but I'm waiting for the new board change over there before I even bring it up to Sano.

Darksaber is supposedly comprised of the best of the best, which means, to me, that they are the cream of the crop. Force users have that added edge of being able to use the Force, but the non-Force sensitive members would have to be doubly powerful to be effective. They have to be able to kill Jedi Knights at the very least, Masters on average, and be able to make it out of a fight with the Grandmaster if they are good. That's why I think adding more of those to the roster and giving them tools to hunt down Bogan would make them more effective than your average Force user, in case you were wondering.

Well, the ysalamir and vornskr production has been monopolized by the Empire for at least a decade, probably closer to two. We have LOTS of ysalamir, so I think Gambler's onto it with using them.

Did you have anyone in mind to approach for membership?

I actually agree with Gambler. I build Batvan to prove that NFU are JUST AS STRONG as Force Users, and i dont plan to slack on that ideal. I'm still trying to acquire Batvan's old equipment that he used to have before coming to SWRP, but once i do i can tackle a fair few jedi by myself. And the fact is with the right tools, as long as you're a good RPer, you can take down the Emperor yourself should the opportunity arise itself.

But the fact is we can have ALL the force users we want, unless theyre trained killing machines and adept at both the lightside and darkside, theyre gunna be cannon fodder and pawns against the Jedi/Bogan masters and higher-ups. The key difference between a Force User and a NFU is that a Force user is restricted on his knowledge and prowess by his rank within the Jedi/Bogan. an NFU isnt. We can be infinitely wise in the ways of battle tactics and weapon awareness purely by previous experience and story progression.

Or we could cheat and bring ysalamir and thermal detonators. Yeah, lots of thermal detonators.

We're bringing ysalamir, but we're out of thermal detonators. Do nukes work?
