MALON

Title: Emperor // Species: Human // Age: 41 // Height: 1.89 m // Weight: 89.3 kg

MALON (also known as: Emperor Malon, Darth Malon, Lord Malon) is the second emperor of the Second Sith Empire, as well as the first emperor to have been a member of the Sith Order. Prior to this, he was, at different times, the Moff of Saleucami; the Grand Moff of the Sith Brotherhood; and the second Dark Lord of the Sith under the Imperial banner, having usurped the title from his Master, the former Dark Lord Darth Vanus.

BIOGRAPHY

  • Despite his prolific career, Malon was from humble beginnings. He began life on Taris as a human child, born into child abuse, named Kelan Nomar. Born the son of a disillusioned Jedi Knight and a drunkard, his first memories were devoid of his mother—as she had perished of an unknown illness during the early years of his life. Instead, many of his earliest memories consist of his father's abuse: mental, physical, and otherwise. Frequently left to fend for himself, Kelan quickly learned the arts of theft and deception, stemming from a need and desire to survive at all costs.

When he was 17-standard-years-old, however, a ray of sunshine entered his life: Taryn Briggs. Consorting in secret, the two embarked upon a risky relationship that would span two standard years. During this time, Kelan renounced thievery and began to piece his life together despite the constant shadow of his abusive father hanging over his shoulders. However, their dreams of a better life in the Republic was shattered when Kelan's father discovered their relationship. During the ensuing confrontation, Kelan awakened to the Force and—fueled by years of neglect and abuse—strangled his father to death.

Awash with guilt at what he had done, Kelan decided that he couldn't face Taryn, as he had committed a crime worse than thievery: murder. Stowing onboard a cargo shuttle bound for the far reaches of the Outer Rim, Kelan decided to disappear and never set foot on Taris again. He arrived in Sith space and was discovered by a Muun Sith named Malignus. Having grown up in the shadow of Sith power—as Taris had been destroyed a millennia prior by the Old Sith Empire—Kelan recognized the power the Sith could offer him: the power to remake himself, to forget the disgusting person he was and become a new creature. Ironically, the creature he became was much much worse.

Claiming the name "Malon," a corruption of the word malice, the young Sith embarked upon several standard standard years of arduous training, forging him into a lethal agent of the dark side of the Force. These formative years were instrumental to his development, as he meticulously sought a means to vanquish all remnants of "Kelan Nomar" from his being. The result, at least in Malignus' mind, was the perfect Sith warrior: almost completely devoid of ambition, yet with a cruelty and bloodlust that matched the most dangerous serial killers, combined with the discretion and intelligence to wield it properly. The newborn Malon was nothing like the murderous Sith warriors who came before him, priding himself on the calm in which he operated.

Towards the end of his apprenticeship, Malon forged for himself a set of fearsome black armor—modeled after the schematics for an old Sith war droid he had come across in the Sith Order's archives. This armor was designed with a singular purpose: to instill in his allies, foes, and the galaxy as a whole the fear he had lived with constantly throughout his early life. In the end, Malon had turned Kelan Nomar's greatest weakness into his single most powerful weapon. And, when he was done, he betrayed and murdered his Master in the same manner he had his late father, proving to himself once and for all that Kelan Nomar's guilt would no longer rule him.

    He was a new being.
  • Malon quickly made a name for himself among the Sith. He was quietly promoted to Moff, and he took to ruling the planet Saleucami with equal quietness while growing his power in the shadows. As a Moff, he made connections with Darth Cain upon the planet Christophsis—saving the Sith Lord from a Republic ambush, all the while fighting on the front lines of the skirmish. Later, he was among the Sith to attack Coruscant, driving back two Jedi Knights and a Republic pilot, his long-lost former love interest: Taryn Briggs.

Towards the end of the battle, he was responsible—along with several other Sith—for rescuing Darth Solum, then the Dark Lord of the Sith, from the bowels of the Jedi flagship. Solum named him "Darth" for his part in her rescue and the two began a Master-apprentice partnership. However, Solum had been stripped of the Force by the Jedi, forcing Malon to research a means of saving his new Master.

In reality, Malon never planned to keep Solum around. As she was the Dark Lord of the Sith, he believed that she could teach him more about the dark side of the Force, and sought to assist her in regaining her power so that he could learn all of her secrets. However, he quickly came to be disgusted with his Master, who relied on him for power and protection in her weakened state. After participating in the burning of Thyferra, Malon accompanied Solum to Voss in order to finally restore her to the Force. The mission was also a test, administered by Malon, to see if Solum had the strength to lead the Sith Order; but, by the mission's end, Malon was left with only further disappointment.

In the end, he decided that he already knew all that Solum—who renamed herself "Darth Vanus" after their trip to Voss—knew, and he began planning to betray her. While he plotted, the Sith Brotherhood transitioned into the Sith Empire and, shortly thereafter, Darth Cain administered the ritual that completely restored Vanus' Force-ridden body.

Deciding not to delay further, Malon issued a challenge to his Master, and met her on her own turf of Rhen Var in order to settle their differences. Their duel was short and fierce, but in the end, Malon emerged unharmed and victorious, having claimed the title of Dark Lord of the Sith for himself.
  • The newly christened Dark Lord of the Sith immediately set to work consolidating his power and dealing with his enemies. One of his first acts as reigning Dark Lord was orchestrating the assassination of Darth Ruwn, known to the Empire at large as Henry Earnest. Ruwn had crossed the Dark Lord twice: on Mustafar, when he wrecked then Sith Lord Malon's flagship hanger with a swoop bike, and again when he pledged his support to Darth Vanus during the fatal duel in which Malon was the victor. Malon manipulated both Moff Tel Ahren and Emperor's Hand Argus, both of whom had grudges against the flippant Sith Lord, to move ahead with Ruwn's destruction.

In the meantime, Malon assumed two apprentices: a raging Cathar named Shere Cann and the son of Darth Cain, Korvo. While the Dark Lord trained Shere as a Sith warrior, he instructed Korvo in the art of war, with his intention being to use both Sith as future tools to consolidate more power over the Empire as a whole.

Though no longer the Moff, Malon remained the ruler over Saleucami and remodeled his fortress there into a new citadel. His former Master's headquarters on Rhen Var were razed and converted into a private vault of Sith artifacts. It was here that Malon began to complete the work that he had began with Vanus on Voss: the construction of his own holocron. The process would be a lengthy one, and Malon hid his project from even his apprentices, in the hopes of one day being able to preserve his knowledge for future generations of worthy Sith.

Shortly thereafter, Malon encountered the Emperor and Warlord in remote Sith space, whereupon they discussed the expansion of the Empire. Malon expressed an interest in dark power he sensed in the depths of the Unknown Regions, and began making plans to dispatch probes into this region. It was also here that the three made plans to attack the heart of the Republic, Chandrila—thereby destroying the lifeblood of the Jedi Order.

Sometime later, this plan was set into motion. After installing Kalen Gent as Grand Moff of the Empire, Malon, Kalen, the Emperor, and several members of the Dark Council launched a surprise attack on Chandrila. During the assault, Malon attacked the heart of the Republic: the Senate Building. There, he dueled none other than the Jedi Grandmaster in an epic confrontation on the very floor of the Senate chambers.

During the duel, elsewhere on the planet, a Jedi woman struck down Kyuss Thaun, the Emperor, which triggered a cataclysmic shift in the Force. The result was the dark side firmly wreathing Malon in its full power—anointing him as the new Sith emperor. His duel with the Grandmaster proceeded; the two were evenly matched, and the fight only ended when most of the Senate chamber had been destroyed and Sith reinforcements had arrived.

Returning to his Empire, Malon called a convocation of Imperial leadership on Coruscant—the Warlord, the Moffs, and the remaining Dark Council—to mark his ascension to Emperor.

ABILITIES

  • giphy.gif

Despite being a potent Force user, Malon's most deadly skill is his use of the lightsaber:
Form V, Djem So: Malon specializes in Form V combat: Djem So. Form V is one of the standard lightsaber combat forms, which emphasizes using one's opponent's power against them. As a result, Malon is rarely the aggressor in lightsaber combat, preferring to goad his foes into attacking him instead, and then using the power of their strikes to fuel his counterattack. Malon's tremendous physical strength makes this Form more effective, as opponents find that their attacks are powerfully blocked and parried despite minimal effort on Malon's part. This also means that his counteroffensive is as threatening as his suit of armor is; he prefers a one-handed attack style, and switches to a two-handed grip when preparing to make a finishing blow.
Jar'Kai: As proven during his death match with Darth Vanus, Malon is particularly masterful with Jar'Kai: the art of using two lightsabers in combat. In that particular match, Malon proved that his skill with the technique was such that he could adjust the form to his needs in mid-combat and use it to overwhelm opponents at the Sith Lord-level. In fact, it was his mastery of the Jar'Kai form that allowed him to vanquish Vanus, utterly defeating her in sword combat.
Adaptability: Despite his efficiency with Form V and Jar'Kai, the true danger of Malon's lightsaber style is his ability to pick sequences from other lightsaber forms and seamlessly meld them into his fighting style. For instance, despite being a novice at Form IV, he is able to make use of some of its more aggressive sequences to surprise a foe who is used to his slower, more methodical use of Form V, such as he did against the Jedi he faced during the Battle of Coruscant.

Dun Möch isn't force related, right? It's just a Sith's ability to intimidate/get under a targets skin with taunts and the like, I thought anyway.

Yeah, it's not a Force ability. It's more like a general ability to intimidate and get under the opponent's skin. I tend to lump it in with Force abilities because the Force can be used as part of a dun möch strategy, but that's the only reason.

EDIT: Updated his profile to reflect the discussion above, and also to take into account the Force powers mentioned in The Star Wars RP's Guide to the Force.

After much consideration, I have redesigned the profile, elaborating more on who Kelan Nomar is as a person. These changes should not affect anything I'm involved in, as it is a simile elaboration on what was already there.

I was also unhappy with the moniker "Wraith." During my first timeline here, the Hutt Wars, I designed a dark sider named "Malon," hence my namesake. But he never really went anywhere, and I was always bothered by that. No more. Now, through Kelan, I shall tell the story of Malon (hopefully one day to be "Darth" Malon) in its entirety. Hope you all enjoy!

Alright, there:

UPDATED! For his promotion to Sith Lord as "Darth Malon." I felt like his profile needed to be reformatted anyways. Borrowed @TWD26 's formatting, with some minor tweaks, so all credit goes to him. None of the backstory (or anything else) was changed, just explained in more detail and in an more presentable format (also with flashy lightning :D).

The old profile is still on my Workshop if anyone ever wishes to verify this.

The galaxy should tremble in fear. I am "Darth Melons" in name and character now xD

UPDATED to reflect his new position in the Empire, and also because I was growing tired of the clunky formatting of the last one; this one's much more simplistic, which is how I prefer it for now.

Holy shit it's the first timeline. All we need now is a 19 year old Grandmaster and we're set.

EDIT: And yes that was actually a thing. >.<

I'm sure that can be arranged. There are plenty of 19-year-olds running around the site. Take your pick :P

@Undine: Weirdly, a character idea I have had bouncing around in my head for about two timelines now is, in fact, Dame Maggie Smith as a Jedi >.>

........Why have you not acted upon this? Please make this happen or I will start a petition.

Roz the Hutt, it started as a joke last timeline, but I still really like the idea.

I also had the idea of making a mando based off rebel wilson, with the personality of Fat Amy. She was also going to be a Jedi. :p

Sidenote: This site really needs a devil face emoji, like really :p <- isn't enough to express myself.
