"Enter the Rogue;" The Training of Xano Mettengar [BHG]

The recruit moved closer ot Ares position, which caused him to finally act. He was behind the man before he even hit the floor. He chimmed in just after Shawn spoke.

"Yah.....You probably should." The armor clad man said as he reached down to pick the man off the floor by his shirt.

As Xano was lifted into the air he turned to face the monolithic man in the suit of power armor. He smiled and spit on the visor hitting it perfectly. Then he smoothly slid from his outer flight jacket and onto the floor.

He quickly dodged through the armored man’s legs and ran for the opposite end of the hallway. Xano was aiming for time, he knew the doors would be locked he just needed time to analyze his surroundings.

Shawn wated for Xano to turn a corner before he walked up to Ares, "nimble little fella, and has a good head on him to. I like him, so don't break every bone in his body if you’re going to help boss." Shawn said giving chase change the clip in his pistols to non-lethal, and started shooting at the fleeing trainee, and thought to himself.

'If he can at least disarm me I will call his training pass'

" If he trys anything like that again I might." Ares mostly to himself as he followed Shawn down the hall. He a lier if he ever said he didnt enjoy the thrill of the hunt. Most of the time it was actually getting to his target that was most enjoyable for him, but this recruit had not earned that. Not yet.

Ares was still unarmed, wanting to test the recruit physically first before actually going in with any weapons. But it was Shawn's training exercise, not his. So Ares stayed behind Shawn, letting him fire on the recruit. Ares would strike when the man needed to reload.

As Xano turned the corner several shots rang and he heard bullets whiz by his head. He turned and looked, “Hmpf… non-lethal…” Xano knew that even if the bullets were lethal they wouldn’t harm him that much. Xano knew the one he had to worry about was the man in the power armor; he was most likely the only one to actually be capable of capturing him.

He crouched down in a secluded corner, knowing that he had only seconds before one of the men got around the corner. He opened the palm of his hand to reveal his remaining microchips. Picking one up Xano whispered to himself, “This looks suitable enough, not lethal but definitely a pain in the ass.” Xano smiled as he began looking for a good place to house his ambush; as well as another terminal point.

Shawn rounded the cornner and changeing the clip for a fresh magazine, "dam hes not there must have turned another corrner." Shawn said as he ran down the hall. "Lets split up, Boss you go left I'll go right both lead to a dead end so were bound to find him."

Out of ideas at the moment, Xano had slipped under the broken door of his holding cell once more. He returned to the microscopic camera terminal and retrieved his first microchip, obviously it hadn’t worked the way he had wanted it too so he had decided a more fitting chip would work.

This new chip should cause any pre-programmed emergency protocols to activate simultaneously. This had worked for him previously because it had not only jettisoned all of the escape pods, one of which he was trapped in, it also, if he remembered correctly, activated any turrets, doors, and other objects linked by the ship’s mainframe to go haywire.

Xano was hoping for this, if this didn’t work, oh well, if it did, he might still have a chance to escape. Yet, before leaving he wanted to get revenge. Xano Mettengar was not one to fool around with, and his anger had arisen finally. Xano’s anger this time however was not a blind rage, no, this time it was cold, calculating.

He knew the odds were against him, but he had a plan, so he left the room to investigate any damage he had done as well as hoping to find some way to escape.

Xano's path lead him right to Ares. Who had backtracked to look for the recruit.

" Hello there mate." He said as he blocked the only hallway there was leading to the main group of corridors. His armor protected him from most attacks people could muster against him, but in on way did it hamper his speed. The recruit wasnt getting past Ares, not without going through him.

The bounty hunter still hadnt drawn any of his weapons, Ares still wanted to test the recruits mettle in hand to hand. He was unaware of the situation though, thinking that the recruit was well aware of who Ares was and that he was indeed in the BHG's HQ.

When Xano straightened his body back out, he found to his pleasure the armored man standing in his escape route. Xano stood there for several seconds, starring, analyzing the man, looking for any weak spots. Seeing none on the front of his armor, Xano decided to stay where he was, looking perfectly like the trapped prey, tempting for any hunter.

" Oh I see how it is." Ares said as he remained planted where he stood.

" You dont have to the stones to fight me."

Ares paused for a moment before speaking again. He wasnt used to speaking before fighting.

" I mean its understandable, you dont look like you'd last long in a fight anyway..... Probably not even worth my time."

Do to Xanos tampering with the security grid Shawn barely dodge a closing blast door on him. "ok that’s enough of this foolishness." Shawn said as he accessed the room next to him before the door locked down and accessed the terminal inside routing access from the circuits in the Briggs camera and re-routing the power and systems to secondary systems, and brought the deck back to full. Closing the blast door behind Ares to box the trainee in. "this will teach you to mess with the ships systems," also for an added measure, Shawn ran a feed back loop into the chip and fried it with an energy overload.

Xano watched his last hope of escape tightly seal behind the armored man and a frown crossed his face. Now he would actually have to fight the man in the suit. He hadn’t planned on this alternative and was once again forced into deeper thought.

He began to move closer to the armored man, strafing back and forth just so if the man did pull a weapon it wouldn’t hamper Xano too much. He was within striking range now and he could see all of the armor now in full detail, each facet of light, each small meticulous detail. He saw how great the quality the armor was and knew this battle wouldn’t be an easy on if he was caught in a hand to hand situation.

Ares stood motionless as the recruit slowly edged closer and closer. He didnt have to chase him to hell and back anymore, so he decided it best to just sit tight and wait for the right moment to strike.

The moment came when the recruit came within striking distance. Ares waited a few moments, thne quickly and without warning sent a punch straight for the recruits face. The attack was precise, being that Ares was a master in hand to hand combat.

Xano saw the swing coming and decided to let the man see what he was truly up against. Moving back a tiny bit, he let the fist collide with his jawbone. A cracking sound was heard throughout the closed hallway. Xano grunted with pain as he quickly looked into the man’s visor and straightened his jaw and let the man see his talent.

The nanobots took about 20 seconds to completely repair the damage done by the armored man. With his newly repaired jaw Xano wickedly smiled as he darted to one corner of the room and pushed against the wall to catapult himself and land neatly behind the armored man.

" Neat trick." Ares said under his breath. The recruit would'nt have been able ot hear him. He had shut the exterior speakers on his helmet off long before the two even started fighting. He watched as the man before him jumped off the wall and behind him, waiting for when the recruit hit the ground to strike.

Ares quickly whirled around with both hands locked together in a hammer fist swing. Using the full momentum of his body to fuel the attacks force. The attack would be devistating if it impacted, amplified by Ares's durasteel covered hands.

Xano looked up to see the two handed blow coming from above him. He knew his reflexes were critical to his survival at this moment and instead of falling away he dashed and met his opponent head on so that the blow went behind him as he was protected by the falling arc of the man’s own arms.

Shawn was having trouble opening the blast doors that lead back to where Ares and Xano were. "You know note to self design more redundant systems cause this is a pain in the…" Shawn was cut off by the hissing of the blast door he was trying to open opened, but revealed another one that was closed down the hall blocking the only other path into that hall that wouldn't let the trainee escape. Shawn just sighed at the site and hurried to the door.

Ares was suprised by the recruits foolish move, the young man had ran right into his attack instead of away. It was as if he was prepared for a different attack, trying ot guess Ares's moves.

For whatever reason, Ares's attack landed hand on the recruit's exposed side. Sending the man into the wall of the corridor they where both trapped in. He stepped a few feet back and waited for the recruit to rise. Not seeing sport in attacking a downed foe.

‘Holy crap that hurt a lot,’ Xano chided himself for his foolishness. He lay in against the wall waiting for his body to repair the damage, he thought there were a couple of ribs broken but otherwise no complications. ‘Dammit!’ Xano thought to himself, ‘If only I had my equipment!’ He was angry at himself for having let these people trick him so easily.

He felt the relief as his ribs were sown back in place by his nanobots; yet, he lay still hoping for an opportune moment to spring back up. He needed to think, to plot, anyway. The best time was the few seconds his foe would allow him to get back up.

He was surprised at this action, he didn’t expect any honor out of these slavers. But he continued to lay still, waiting for the man in the armor to either come closer or walk away.

" Let me ask you a question mate. " Ares said as he lowered his defensive posture. It confused him to see a recruit running around unatended through the Jericho. He knew something was definently amiss. At first he thought the recruit had just got the better of Shawn in the interrogation, but this was different. The recruit seemed confused.

" Why you running to hell and back on this ship? Shouldn't you be training right now?"
