DESCRIPTION
Force Encoding is an ability that allows the user to imbue an object with memories, messages, or mental images that can only be accessed through the Force, specifically of the same alignment as the person who created the artifact. When accessing an encoded object, the user sees in the mind whatever information the original encoder left on the object. While encoding the object is a strenuous task, how long it takes depends on the length of the message encoded, which can be seconds for a short string of words or hours for a long, winding lecture. Encoded objects can only be used to store one set of information that cannot be overwritten, edited, or removed from the object. This information must be in one, continuous form and can only come from the mind of the Force user encoding the item, the object cannot record digital data such as holograms.

Once encoded, an object gives off only a mild impression in the Force, leaning towards the alignment of the user that encoded it, and the encoded message will remain as long as the object is intact. While these factors limit the versatility of Force encoding, the ability to take any random object and imbue it with a message that is only readable to Force sensitives, and barely detectable by them, does have its uses.

INTENT
This is a site lore article designed to create a way for Force sensitives outside of the Sith and Jedi to create Force-based records, as well as for all Force sensitives to create secret, encoded messages for each other hidden in common objects.

I find this force power pretty interesting. Just one thing for clarification - you say that the encoded message cannot be destroyed or altered, but can the item that it is encoded to be destroyed?

I probably should clarify that. The message itself can't be destroyed so long as the object exists. Meaning that if you put a message in a spoon, as long as the spoon remains intact the message can't be altered or removed in any way. But if you destroy the spoon the message on it would be lost.
