Personally, I believe you are more than welcome to do so. However, just keep in mind that doing so may prove rather dangerous, for lack of a better term.

Hm.

For example, joining or creating an Open thread within the folds of the Brotherhood will undoubtedly attract the attention of other Sith, all of which will more than likely attempt to kill you. Likewise, anything major (e.g. attacks, bombings) within Sith space will have to be an Open thread, as (most) attacks in a main faction's space must be open. At least, that is what I believe.
