HISTORY OF THE JEDI ORDER.

HolocronsPotJ.JPG

The earliest documentation of the existence of the Jedi Order seems to indicate that the organization was founded around the same time as the initial incarnation of the Galactic Republic around 25,000 BBY, though it may have existed prior to that year. Many ancient and semi-legendary organizations have been proposed to be the forerunners of the Jedi Order, including the Order of Dai Bendu, the Followers of Palawa and the Chatos Academy. No conclusive links have ever been demonstrated, though. Likewise, the birth planet of the order is unknown. Several worlds have been put forth as candidates, including such known worlds as Coruscant, Ossus and Corellia, as well as mythical lost planets such as Had Abaddon and Ondus.

According to a commonly accepted version, however, the dawn world of the Jedi was Tython. The galaxy’s best philosophers, priests, scientists and warriors came together to discuss their discoveries involving the enigmatic and mythical Ashla, also known as the Light Side of the Force, and the Bogan which was also known as the Dark Side of the Force.

From the end of those conferences came the early Jedi and their Jedi Forge initiation led to the invention of lightsabers after they faced threats from beyond their own worlds of Tython and Ossus. Through the use of advanced off-world technology, the Jedi were able to freeze a laser beam, resulting in the lightsaber’s birth. A proactive group left Tython to liberate other worlds, becoming known as the Jedi Knights. They founded a philosophical school on Ossus, defining the Light Side and the Dark Side of the Force, as well as the Living Force and Unifying Force.

In 25,000 BBY, the Galactic Republic was formed. The Republic mapped the Perlemian Trade Route that linked Coruscant with Ossus, thus bringing the Jedi Knights into the life of the Republic. In the event historians refer to as the First Great Schism that took place five hundred years after the formation of the Republic, dissidents who used the Bogan eventually arose. The Dark Jedi General Xendor and his followers allied with the master of Teräs Käsi Arden Lyn and her Followers of Palawa from Bunduki. In a climatic battle, Xendor was slain, Jedi Master Awdrysta Pine stopped Arden’s heart with morichro and Arden killed Pina with the Kashi Mer talisman.
