Eleven years since Kesh and Nomi Wavestrider had discovered their only son, Kyi, was Force-sensitive. Eleven-years since they had sent him off to the Jedi Order to train, to meet his destiny. Now a Jedi Knight, Kyi hadn't seen his parents ever since he was sent away - not out of bitterness, no, he was afraid, afraid to return home and having changed so much from the boy he was before he left... afraid to return home and risk feeling regret over leaving.

But so many things has happened to Kyi since then - he completed his training and achieved the rank of Jedi Knight, he went on many adventures, he joined Star Squadron, he fell in love, he had his own apprentice and finally, he was about to become a father to twins. Kyi knew he couldn't avoid seeing them forever... he knew it was time he returned home. The freckled Knight took it upon himself to contact his parents, sending them a holotransmission stating he wanted to see them again and when the time was convenient for them. Within hours he had got his response, Kesh and Nomi were ecstatic to hear from their son once again and stated any time would be perfect for them.

The next day, Kyi took his trusted companion Exdee and his Malla starfighter and immediately headed for Lothal, to their farm - while he wanted to bring Aurelie with him, he didn't want overwhelm her by having her meet his parents for the first time since he was nervous himself. After what felt like hours, Kyi's starfighter shot out of hyperapce and Lothal appeared into view, as his ship grew closer and closer to his family's farm, the freckled Knight's nervousness began to only increase and even Exdee began to notice. The XD-unit let out a concerned beep for his master which Kyi acknowledged, reassuring his droid that he was okay - which was far from the truth.

Finally, the Wavestrider farm could be seen in the distance from the cockpit. The young Jedi Knight gently closed his eyes and began taking deep, calculated breaths to calm his nerves. It was only his parents. They'd accept him no matter what, even if he has completely changed from when they last saw him.

The Malla starfighter began to slowly descend onto the Lothal grass just a few metres away from the farm, his childhood home. The repulsor lifts parted the grass it was under and was loud compared to the calming silence of the farm - however, the nerfs that his family were raising remained completely calm and only watched the starfighter with curiosity before continuing about their business. Finally landing, Kyi took a brief moment to gather his bearings as he began to feel excited now too, the excitement and nervousness was a lot for him to handle right now. Before exiting the cockpit, Kyi changed into his Jedi robes - he wanted to look presentable for his parents.

The freckled Knight exited the cockpit and began making his way to his childhood home, stroking any of the nerfs that came along his way. Before he had made it even halfway there however, his parents had already left their home to greet their son. Nomi overtook Kesh and practically sprinted toward Kyi, leaping into his arms and hugging him with the vigour any mother would have if she hadn't seen her child in years. Pulling away, he looked into his mother's hazel teary eyes and freckled face - aside from a few wrinkles and greying hair, she hadn't changed at all from the woman he remembered which brought a sense of comfort to him. Shortly after, Kesh had arrived and grabbed Kyi, pulling him into a long hug, the freckled Knight buried his head in his father's shoulder - trying so hard to fight back the tears.

As the two men pulled away, Kyi noticed that despite his 5'10 stature - he was still shorter than his father, Kesh hadn't changed either, his eyes were the same; happy and brown and he still had the same goofy smile he gave off when he was really happy, something Kyi had inherited from his father. Placing both of his arms around each of his parent's shoulders closest to him, Kyi felt an immediate sense of relief and comfort. Everything had changed but at the same time... it didn't, seeing his parents again, it felt like no time had passed in the eleven years since he last saw them.

As the family began to make their way into the house for a long overdue family dinner. The young Jedi Knight was excited to tell them all about his life since he was sent to the Jedi Order, excited to see their reaction upon the news of becoming grandparents, excited to hear what they had been up to while he was gone... but most of all, he was excited to spend the day, in the company of his parents, his heroes because if it wasn't for them... he would have never made the achievements he had.
