She expected him not to like her response and it came at no surprise as he accused her of messing with him. She said nothing and held her tongue and her jaw stiffened. There was a chill that slowly crept down her neck and spine, her own anger was rising. She was getting fairly tired of the bad luck she overall was experiencing. Now short credits, she was going to have to stick around for a bit longer; she now had no goods to sell to get those credits because some stupid kid stole it and probably rested in the belly of some monster in the sewers below her feet. Not to mention they had both followed some thief, clearly he had forgotten that fact.

Thalia had tolerated a lot in the galaxy and she had quickly found it to be an unpleasant place, an unfair place, one where she was doubted, distrusted, a place where she was starting to think there was something greatly wrong with her. Like as though she were as diseased as the creatures they ran from, to move things, see things, and hear things that others didn't seem to regularly do. It seemed like there was so much, Thalia wished she could just stop time to get herself figured out and it was people like this guy who just made it more difficult to sort it all out.

His threat would stun her and it wasn't something she took lightly. He didn't deserve to know who she was, he didn't deserve to blame her for all this nonsense, nor did he deserve to just walk away.

So Thalia didn't let him.

"You don't get to threaten me!" Her anger released itself, manifesting in a way she had never felt before as it was directed at Talak, a wave of the Force washed through the alleyway with him in its path. Thalia wanted to stop and question what she just did, but she felt something push her to continue, to stop him so he would listen, she would make him listen, he would understand everything she was feeling.

Well this just confirmed things for him. She was an assassin after all. Normal people didn't attack people when they were walking away or use the Force. He could feel her anger in the Force and the flux and swell of energy. It was what preceded an attack, and it was a sensation he was intimately familiar with.

He spun on a dime, bring up his left hand to create a barrier. With far more training than her, it was of little difficult to resist her attack. The energy cracked across his invisible barrier, washing past on either side.

His other hand reached out with the Force and snatched the vibroblade in her hand. Without any experience against Force users, someone grabbing a weapon out of her hand would have been completely unexpected as he was still across the alley. It would likely be enough to pull the weapon from her hand and send it flying into his own.

Thalia felt reality snap back to the present as she watched the man spin to face her. His own palm raised to negate whatever she had just done, leaving him unaffected. There was something more to this, something she couldn't just call a bad trip and find spice to back up her belief. As many times she had pressed herself to forget the actions she had done with these feelings and the tricks of magic that would follow, Thalia felt now she could not forget and move onward. Feelings of anger and confusion stirred, she wanted to know why and what it was and it was just not her but this guy also. There was also the guy at the warehouse on Coruscant and then the senile old man who claimed to be Jedi.

There was an odd sensation and her only weapon now was snatched from her palm back to his own. She looked at her empty hand and now to him, her heart racing as she tried to get a straight and rational thought. However what did click was he had to be one of the Jedi and that did not settle too well with her. Thalia threw out her palm again, but nothing came as she tried to find that feeling, that voice that offered her protection, but it did not come. She tried again and again, straining to find it, anger and growing desperation to show him she was just as strong, just as tough as any-

"Kriffin' Jedi!" She growled, never taking her eyes off him.

The vibroblade slapped into his palm and he found the weight of the weapon reassuring. It might not have been a lightsaber, but it was better than his bare hands. His fist clenched tightly around it, blood and guts from the creature now coating the handle as well as his hand.

His eyes were filled with hatred, and the dark side had begun to flow freely through him. He was seeing red now, and he no longer cared who she was or why she was here. All he cared about was that he intended to kill her. The fact that she thought he was a Jedi was all the better.

He flipped the switch on the vibroblade and it began to whir and hum menacingly in his hand. She shoved her hand out to push him back, but nothing came of it. The Force didn't come to her aid, and he began to advance. It wasn't a rush but a menacing advance with murder etched into his eyes.

So he was serious about the whole kill you when I see you again thing...

Thalia inhaled deeply focused on the man as he switched on her vibroblade, her eyes glanced at his hand and back to his face noting the absence in his eyes. The air began to grow cold, a chill that was numbing but it was welcomed. She reached for her blaster, but had forgotten she had ran out of shots from the creatures they just escaped from. "Kriff..." she whispered and slowly began to back up, her mind working quickly to find an exit while still searching for that feeling that would be helpful in times like this.

She kept her palm extended, searching and feeling as she reached deeper inside, her own anger growing at the inability for it to come at her demand. Her frustration ate at her and eventually with a huff, she began to focus on a way to escape her danger. She began to back up quicker, eventually turning to run.

If she got to the streets, she could hopefully lose him in the crowds.

Talak continued his advance. Her hand reached for her blaster, but it wasn't there. A wicked smile pulled at his lips. He continued his advance, slowly but surely. His eyes were now glowing a terrifying amber color.

She turned to run from him and he reached out with the Force, gripping her foot to try to make her face plant into the alley. Even if she managed to escape, it wasn't significant. He had initially planned to simply walk away anyway, but that was before she attacked him. Though he was starting to think he'd like some answers.

That being said, her seeming inability to call the Force to her aid made him reconsider his initial assumptions about her being an assassin. Even so, the creature that had seized control of his mind didn't seem to care. She seemed to be feeding off the darkness as well, and it seemed to somehow strengthen the wicked strength inside him.

Thalia did not get far, while the rest of her body continued to move, her foot did not and she fell forward, nearly smacking her face into the duracrete. She was glad her hands were free, but her knees, hands and wrists were going to be bruised and sore if she was able to escape this madness. Quickly she turned, seeing him make his way closer, his eyes now glowed amber and Thalia nearly did a double take to make sure she was seeing things correctly or perhaps she really did hit her head.

As he neared it became colder, a cold that was more than just the temperature dropping and she could feel it in her center. "Do you feel it?" the voice came again, Thalia answered with a nod. Realizing she was idling, she jumped to her feet, grabbing the nearest hard object off the ground, pulling her arm back in a ready defense.

She stepped back with each step he took towards her, "Well, what are you waiting for?" she was uncertain if that was a question for herself and not for him, and immediately regretted speaking out loud. Her thoughts felt heavy, the cold itself felt heavy, even the object she had picked up felt heavier and Thalia threw it at him, quickly scooping up another piece of heavy scrap to throw at him whether it hit or not.

So she would stand and fight. He knew he should stop toying with his prey, but the darkness was drinking in the horror. It was drinking in the power, and Talak found some comfort in the cold. It was both chaotic and peaceful all at the same time. It was filled with opposites.

Dodging a hand thrown object paled in comparison to avoiding a blaster shot, and as the first throw came toward his head - with surprising accuracy - he darted to the side. It flew by - actually a bit closer than he would have liked - and pulled the Force to himself. Before the next throw, a blast erupted outward and was aimed to strike her in the chest. It would send her flying backward with enough force to knock the wind out of her and send her sprawling out onto the crowded street, probably into another person.

He took a deep breath, and the violence within him seemed to subside ever so slightly as he slowly wrestled control back from the darkness. He still questioned whether she was an assassin or something else, but a part of him that was only barely in control, knew that slaughtering her here was a senseless action and he began to make his way back down the alley. By the time she had recovered from her stumble, he would be rounding the corner at the far end to escape.

He knocked the object away with unnatural ease as she had bent down to scope up another object. She raised her arm again, but a polarizing feeling alerted her to something was about to happen as she was struck in the chest. The object fell from her grasp and she was sent flying backwards into the street, striking several beings as they carried on with their own business. Screams and yells from the tumbled group caused many to clear while others struggled to get up. Thalia mind had blanked as she coughed and gasped for a breath of air, not realizing where she had landed.

Someone started to help her up, holding her arm and asking her questions in a language she could not understood. She looked blankly into furred creature's eyes as reality swiftly returned, recalling quickly her life was probably still in danger and now that she had turned her back, surely he had made progress. Her thoughts turned back to survival and she swiped the blaster from the creature's holster, ignoring the frightened yells and screams as she turned back to the alleyway where she was just ejected from.

Thalia didn't see him.

She jogged further down, seeing if she could catch sight of him on the other end, but nothing alerted her to him being present. Looking back over her shoulder, and then back down the alley, trying to make a decision, Thalia let out an aggravated sigh and glanced down at her empty palm, the same one that released the wave of energy against him trying to find something that was off, something that would explain how she was able to do such things, but there was nothing.

Nothing. No one.

Kriff...
