Hello Hutt Empire,

Happy New Year (six days late)!

Current Events​

We've done some new and exciting things since last update. Most prominently we've had our first (non-military) Darksaber Squadron mission- the attack on Coruscant. If you hadn't been paying attention, this attack resulted in the death (or retardation) of a vast majority of senators and a good portion of the Senatorial district in quite possibly the largest terrorist attack for SWRP. Good work Darksaber- all those responsible have been awarded a medal (whether it's updated or not) and are in line for promotion (woo hoo!).
Darksaber Squadron has now been officially turned into a subfaction. Due to the secret nature of the organization, the Roster has been hidden in the private board- to see it you'll have to be accepted into DSS.
The Taung are seeing a revitalization- we've been accepting applications for the position of Mandalore for the past few days. The application process will be finished soon and we'll have announced the new Mandalore: I estimate this faction will be up and running in two weeks, and it's always nice for some Taung support.

Most importantly (for reasons I'll be discussing in the third bullet of this memo) I'll soon be taking steps to turn the faction into a slightly more self-managing organization. For this reason, I'll need Squadron Leaders to really step up their dedication to the faction and do their best to help me out.

Faction Needs​

Right now, the faction is suffering from a severe lack of space roleplayers. We need characters to lead the fleets in orbital battles- at minimum you will receive a Line Captain position and will almost certainly see action.
Along with naval captains, we need Taung to fill the ranks. Keep an eye out in the subfaction board as it's reworked in the coming weeks.

What You Can Expect From Me​

As I'm sure some of you have noticed (and some have complained about), I've been sparse the past few weeks. Be it lack of computer or a heavy workload I'm struggling to keep my RL affairs in order before working on SWRP. I haven't forgotten the faction or site- I'm frequently on MSN (which is attached in my profile) and am available to talk whenever I'm online. PMs are also a fast way to get my attention.

In summary, I apologize for my inactivity, but my lack of posting does not mean I've stopped working on the faction. I'm here to answer your questions and get us moving, but ultimately it's up to YOU to roleplay the faction- I'm only one slug. Get out there, wreak some havoc, and let's do our best to keep the Republic on the defensive.

Please use this thread to give input, feedback, and suggestions on the Hutt Faction. Without your ideas I have no clue on how I'm doing or where to go- I'll assume I'm doing a fantastic job and keep BSing along.

Well, my feedback is I'm SUPER excited about The Taung's getting up and active. Been waiting to use my girl! I can't wait to see what these guys pull off.

Darksabers FTW. I quite throughly enjoyed that whole thing.

I'll be looking into making a Hutt Military character as well. To get into that part of the Hutts in order to help out(I'm all over dis faction).

As for the rest I'll be standing by on what is to become of the future events.

Oh, and I suggest looking at other method of recruiting members for sub factions. Maybe sending off invites to people who seem to fit the role and may want to join in(in case they haven't thought about it/missed the subfaction etc).

Promotions and Transfers​

If any of you check out the Hutt Military Roster you will notice a few different shifts. First and foremost, four Squadrons' PCs have been compressed into two- both Spear Squadron and Axe Squadron are capable of action. Skyfire Battlegroup is empty for the moment: as we get recruits we'll fill that out, and some of the higher-ranking members on each Squadron can petition for command roles as PCs arrive.

Also, a few PCs have been promoted. I can't exactly remember WHO (damn my memory!), but most notably the Navy Personnel have been bumped up to Admirals. This will allow them to lead attacks on planets and have consistent force names. However, there are two ranks of Admirals: High Command and Regular (think of them as ranks within ranks). High Command Admirals will still serve the same role, but are able to pull rank on lower Admirals. Ya dig?

Tomorrow will come another announcement. Stay tuned.

Update number three! I like the updating format I think- I may keep it.

First off, my to-do list has been completed (as seen in post one). If there are any more additions, please let me know.

Taung​

First and foremost- we have a new Mandalore to lead the Taung out of their rut. A special congratulations to Niner- he'll be taking the official role of Mandalore! We all know he's been creaming over the Mandos for a while: I'm sure he'll do well.
However, I'll note that the decision was close. So, instead of allowing Niner to pick his second-in-command (as originally intended), the position will go to Rameth!
I intend for you both to work together on running the faction. While Niner may be the leader in RP, I'll consider you co-leaders for OOC purposes. If you guys have any questions, feel free to PM me.

Faction Sub-Leaders​

In another attempt to make the Hutts more active, I'm trying something new. We'll have people helping me organize and plan the faction- these people being Words, Gambler, and Radzkie. Words will help me with general administration (a more OOC role), Gambler will help the Squadrons as we engage the Republic (a more IC role), and Radzkie will help me with Darksaber Squadron. Obviously, Niner and Rameth will help with the Taung. Mod powers will be passed out shortly.

Should have said this hours ago. Thanks for the opportunity and I will do my best to get the Taung/Mandalorian faction a new life. Can't wait to work with Niner.
