Hutt Newsletter January
Happy 2017 everyone!
As we all come back from the Holiday Celebrations, I have put together this Newsletter to keep everyone up to date with what has been going on in the Faction over the course of December, and what we have planned moving into the first few months of the new year. As hopefully you know, I have lead a Hutt Faction in the past, and (to vary degrees of success) the Republic, in addition to the Czerka Corporation; and each of those factions had their strengths and weaknesses, attracting and scaring away players in equal measure!
Having looking back over those factions and seen what worked and what failed miserably, moving into the next few months I shall be trailing and using a new system to generate story-lines, using NPC Corporations based on Nar Shaddaa and other such worlds. So far we have three, and this will not be expanded upon further, so please read on for what I have planned for them:
Nar Shaddaa Security Corporation: Within every faction there are people who live for Player Vs Player Combat. This NPC Corp will intend to satiate those needs. Running mission Arcs that will either secure territory for the Desilijic Faction itself, or out on 'contract' to other factions this wioll be our main PvP running group.
HyperMap: Alongside this, there are those in the faction that enjoy passive RP, and the HyperMap group will cater to their needs primarily. With the success we have seen from the Colony Arc being planned, and the interest that has generated, HyperMap will be used to generate sucb mission plots, expanding on new areas of the galaxy map, founding colonies and doing what I can only describe as 'The Final Frontier' style RP a lot of people enjoy.
Czerka Science and Research: As a spin off from the once famed Czerka Corporation, now based on Nar Shaddaa, the CSR will work on the more shady criminal and politics RP. When @Fyremage joined the site, he made a fantastic arc around a gas incident on a star station, @Outlander experienced similar success with his plague outbreak, and I have seen great stuff with the outbreak arc we did a few months ago in Czerka. This group will work on shady political deals, research and the more 'Dystopian' style things we see in SciFi.
In terms of military assets, these three groups will provide none to the faction at all (unless requested in expansion requests) and are for story telling only, acting as background bodies for story telling purposes. My plan here is to tell the successful missions and story arcs that we have seen before, and continue to see; and to provide a space in Indie territory for those wishing to PvP, or just be left to their own devices. Moving into the next few days, keep up with our Ylesian missions, and the incoming Colony Mission (which HyperMap is acting as one of many sponsors for). We will have a plague outbreak mission, and much more incoming as well.
Please do remember, people will not need to join one of the Corporations, and the casual structure of the group will remain in place. The Corporations are story telling and background groups only, controlled by your beloved faction leader.
However!
It will have escaped nobodies notice at all that the Sith are also making moves into Hutt Space, which they are welcome to do. So far we have received excellent feedback and support from Indie players, and a few other factions, to ensure that Hutt Space remains a playground for the indies and criminals of the Galaxy, and not a Sith Bombsite. We have missions up in Ylesian Territory to claim the Grid, and through the Corporations above we will run (in around a month) PvP, PvE and Passive Missions to secure this territory and further areas within indie space.
Of course, there is every possibiity that the Sith will push to take out newly acquired Nar Shaddaa and Nal Hutta Grid from us; and whilst we would rather that did not happen, I have every confidence we can send the Sith scurrying back to Ziost (or Chandrila lol xD) if they attempt to invade.
As always, a huge thank you to our members, and to the indies assisting with the Sith defense. The Hutt faction will continue to provide story arcs, collaboration with Indies and Main Factions, and story opportunities for you all.
