So since we are already discussing some of the weapons we will be using, I suggest that all knights become very proficient in blasters, poisons, explosives, and general Jedi hunter techniques. After all, eventually we will be going after the big bad guys (sith lords), and they aren't going down without a fight.

I think kerne has a couple of Lightsabers but rarely uses them, preferring his Cortosis weave sword over the glowy sword any day.

I added a regular sword and blaster to my profile after the fact, didn't know we were gonna be encouraged to not solely use lightsabers. That's definitely cool though cause the sword I chose is ****ing cool.

Lightsabers are still fun though. Just makes sense that we don't wanna use them that much.

You can always force weapon a regular sword; it gets rid of the requirement to have a phrik weapon in order to block a lightsaber, since any weapon imbued with the Force is lightsaber resistant.

Unless it's vital to your character I don't really see the point of causing a bother about it and including weapons specifically in your profile. Instead, write it in when it's relevant to the RP.

Does your character really wear the same clothing every single time you RP with them? Do they always have the same weapons? The same hygeine? The same emotions?

When you enter the RP, establish what your character has on them, relevant to the RP's direction.

''Miriam had surrendered to the shadows in the corner of the brothel, scanning the other occupants with eyes like sharp emeralds. She took a moment to casually stroke the holster that lay at her side, her blaster was still there, cleaned, ready and hungry. The holster was hidden amongst her clothing, grey and black garb of plain description. She was nothing to them. She was a shadow. An insect with a poison strike, if they chose to strike her, they would meet the armour that lay beneath her clothing. She was a survivor, at home in the shade. They would not get the better of her.''

Make it apart of the roleplay, as a opposed to:

John, Age : 35,

Weapons: 4 blasters, three grenades, a pack of cigarettes, a sword shaped like a penis and black armour.

It's just not very prudent.

With regards to force powers and equipment, I try to be as vague as possible. To me it's more a question of what is necessary for good RPing and storytelling. But I realize that it helps some people, so to each his own.

If somebody makes a Knight with a sword shaped like a penis, they get thousand points for Gryffindor.

I just need to say something about Cortosis, Cortosis is like Diamond >.< Its increadibly rare and expensive. Moreso than Phryk,

it is a:
'VERY RARE brittle and fibrous material'

I actually consider it useless as a weapon or armour, and anyone who used a pure cortosis weapon against a real blade, should have it snap effortlessly. >.>

Though that being said, there is the mando's beskar alloy. Which is i think little bits of beskar with lots of buts of durasteel, there's also songsteel, which my mando uses. (Though i had to explain that to admins... as apparently songsteel blades are like master crafted weapons of extreeme amazingness incarnate.)

But yeah, That's it for lightsaber resistant materials. Phrik is rare, but cortosis is VERY rare

I'm thinking my character will be using gunblades. XD, to the eye, a blaster with a flashlight attachment, in reality. BZZZT VROOOM!!! Light-blasters! Enter Guncarta

I messaged prosp about this but i'm impatient and want to get my character churned out by the end of day. I have an interesting idea for part of my profile that could involve a former Knight turned sith. The idea is a knight captured during the bastion purge by a sith master the master saw something in him and successfully attempted to make him his apprentice, what think?

To be honest I don't know much about the purge and what happened on bastion and if you read what I put up (accidentally) already you could probably tell. But the things that would tie into the sith apprentice would be really cool in my opinion.

Cortosis is likeDiamond >.< Its increadibly rare and expensive.
I hate to be one of those guy, but bad example. :CSly

Well. Phrik's also very expensive from what I read. The cheapest alternative would probably be cortosis weave which used part cortosis mixed with other metals to create a light saber resistant weapon. Being Cortosis probably doesn't seem to have much any other application than light/blaster resistant materials it'd probably be less expensive than Phrik weapons and when you consider how common they seemed to be in comparison within the books stories and whatnot.

And like Nite said cortosis is weak so an alloy would make a lot more since anyway, like gold leafing.

No, the cheapest alternative is a regular weapon. Just imbue it with the Force. How do you think the Force War was fought on Tython, before lightsabers were ever invented? Force Katana's. We don't need to get high-tech and sophisticated, that'd just risk our cover, and be unnecessarily pricy for a poor organization.

Lol, My force Zweihander/ Beidenhander will rip your force katana and you to little tiny peaces, as well as you! XD

In one swing...

And i thought it was a fine example, If the imperium could make full armours out of Phrik as well as driods etc, then Phrik would be easier to find, there are alternatives, sure. The rarest would be songsteel, followed by beskar, then Phrik then cortosis. (I read a lot) And just going by the Wookiepedia alone, Cortosis is rarer, though due to a site nerph, cortosis is not allowed to shut off lightsabers. It's just resistant.

And as for your character... The place was nuked. Getting out of there alive would be the biggest issue.

I was saying a diamond was a bad comparison for rarity because they a quite common

Also, just because I feel like being one of those guys, a katana will cut a Zweihander more effectively than vise versa. :CStern

I can see this ending very badly.
