I wasn't meaning as to imply we use lyrics. What I meant to imply was to maybe try to have the oath flow better.

Also, we can have multiple oaths. Maybe with little different themes.

PRE-PURGE

OATHS OF FEALTY

I ____ DO SO SWEAR FEALTY TO THE FORCE

I ____ DO SO SWEAR FEALTY TO MY EMPEROR.

I DO SO SWEAR TO PREFORM MY DUTY NO MATTER THE COST.

I DO SO SWEAR TO COMBAT THE DARK SIDE WHERE I FIND IT EVEN AMONG MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS.

I DO SO SWEAR TO GUARD THE EMPEROR AND SHOULD HE FALL BRING HIM BACK.

I SWEAR TO FOLLOW THE EMPEROR AS THE EMBODIMENT OF THE FORCE AS LONG AS HE FOLLOWS THE LIGHT SIDE OF THE FORCE.

BY THE EMPEROR AND BY THE FORCE I AM A KNIGHT OF THE EMPIRE.

POST PURGE

WE ARE IMPERIAL KNIGHTS!

WE SERVE THE EMPEROR THROUGH THE FORCE, EVEN WHEN THERE IS NO TRUE EMPEROR!

WE DO OUR DUTY BY THE EMPEROR AND BY THE FORCE, NO MATTER THE COST!

WE DISCIPLINE OUR LOYALTY, EMBODIED BY THE LIGHT!

SERVICE FOR LIFE, DISOBEDIENCE WITH DEATH!

WE ARE THE IMPERIAL KNIGHTS!!

EXPLANATION OF EACH CODE AND HOW IT AFFECTS YOU

Pre-purge: If your knight is a pre-purge knight, this means you have been through the proper training of learning how to control your emotions and serve without question both to your superiors and emperor. You are highly versed in Imperial training methods and tactics and know the value of the mission over collateral damage. You are dedicated to destroying the dark and preserving the light.

[[if you are in need of help see Syn for questions or Weiss]]

Post-purge: Now here is where it gets a little murky. After the purge the Knights fled and anyone who has joined since then has not been given the proper training. Not to say it is wrong but they are not taught loyalty to their true emperor and emotional control is an issue. Their weapons and tactics have changed from standard military to gorilla fighting. They are still dedicated to destroying the darkside of the force.

Currently, this seems more like it's in a pledge format than oath or code format. So, let's take out the core content.

Pre-Purge:
-fealty to Emperor; only if emperor is of Ashla
-fealty to Ashla
-duty over consequences outside orders
-fight Bogan
-protect emperor; if emperor falls, redeem emperor if possible

Post-Purge:
-fealty to symbolic representation of emperor
-duty over consequences outside orders
-loyalty highlighted
-Ashla-oriented
-life-long service
-betrayal results in execution

I'm wondering about the 'Bogan' part. Why not call them Sith?

Oh. I see. I thought you were representing the Old Republic Dark Jedi named the Bogan, which I guess is kind of the same thing but I see what you're saying.

That works! :)

I know the words infer my beliefs, but I just feel like something is missing that details certain differences from other Ashla oriented factions; that there -is- a difference, otherwise we would not be our own Faction.

I think, though it is stated, that some emphasis might need to be put into what it means to give fealty to the Emperor or symbolic Emporer. The Emperor would give commands to kill innocents, if to succeed on a larger scale for good in the end. The Emperor's word was to be obeyed and trusted without question or thought. Such hesitation would have no doubt brought punishment to that undisciplined soldier (because any Imperial Knight is more a soldier than anything else).

Maybe a number system in order of importance? So that the listings of "fealty to the Emperor" and "fealty to symbolic representation of the Emperor" are number one for a reason.

EDIT: In addition, I feel like the Imperial Knights are more aligned with the good of the galaxy in realization that the Darkside results in everything bad; moreso than the Imperial Knights are aligned with the Lightside of the Force. To say that we understand that the Lightside is equal to the results we seek is almost the same as saying that we serve the Lightside itself, but it is naive and uninformed to make the surface connection without knowing the underlying differences in that statement. The Imperial Knights look to the greater good and the end result, rather than the lesser goods and the paths it takes to reach that end result. Am I alone in this viewpoint?
