Grand Army of the Sith Imperium

For centuries the Imperial Military has been the most feared military force in the known galaxy. The primary force responsible for carrying out military operations throughout the galaxy as well as maintaining order on Imperial member worlds, governorships, colonies, and protectorates, the Imperial Military differed and arguably surpassed the Alliance Military in that the Imperial Military was not only a physical superpower, but a psychological one as well. Many factions of the Imperial Military, most famously the independent Imperial military force known as the Stormtrooper Corps, were known to strike fear and terror into sentients and civilizations across the entire galaxy, extending from enemy to even allied worlds. Fear was as much a weapon used by the Imperium as power, if not more so.

Consisting of the basic Imperial infantry, heavy artillery units, siege vehicles, light recon mounts, massive imperial walkers, and clad battle tangs, the Imperial Military, known formally as the Grand Army of the Sith Imperium, has always been a symbol of the embodiment of Imperial power. The Imperial Military was considered to be one of the galaxy's most massive military organizations, with tens of trillions of regular army soldiers, trillions of fleet crew, and the sizable force of the legendary Stormtrooper Corps. During the time of peace in the galaxy between the Imperium and the Galactic Alliance, the Imperial military grew very little, and focused on consolidating their power. After the newly revived Sith Order seized control of the faction, the Imperium has begun stockpiling arms and researching military technology once again pushing the galaxy every closer to another galaxy-wide civil conflict.

Although a separate entity within the Imperium, the Sith Order works intimately together with the Imperial Military's chain of command, with the lower of the Sith hierarchy established as commanders in the navies and armies, whereas the Sith higher in the echelon stand as generals. With the Sith fighting by their side, the military forces of the New Sith Imperium has the full power of the Dark Side of the Force on their side, making them a force to be reckoned with.

Imperial Army

The Imperial Army is the branch of the military that preforms military operations planetside and upon other various surfaces, such as moons or inhabited asteroids, or within installations, such as starbases. Unlike the Galactic Empire under Palpatine's reign, members of the Imperial Army come from all races, not just Humans, causing the army to number in the trillions, and in possession of a multitude of strengths, as opposed to the sterility of pure Human ranks. The Imperial Army sports a wide range of equipment and vehicles to support the main infantry, who are also reinforced by the Imperium's legendary Stormtrooper Corps.

The New Sith Imperium effectively uses the vast amounts of credits and resources at its disposal to arm and equip its army with the latest technology, most up-to-date combat armor, and most sophisticated weaponry available, as well as fund research to invent even better equipment. After the outbreak of the war, the New Sith Imperium had come into possession of Mandalorian space and seized the Beskar resources and hybridized the power nigh-indestructibility of the ore with the self repairing and reforming Laminanium compound, which was then outfitted to special Imperial ground troops, varying from those among the standardized Sith Troopers to the coveted Stormtrooper Corps.

In addition to that, Imperial troops undertake training a regimen of combative tactics and techniques from Mandalorian and Death Watch origins from a Mandalorian agent. This instituted training envelops all Imperial military ground troops, enhancing the performance of their ground soldiers. Numbering into the trillions, the Imperial Army is galactically famed, rivaled in power only by the Galactic Federation.

Imperial Navy

The Imperial Navy is the naval branch of the Imperial Military, operating primarily in space. Made up of trillions of military vessels and logistics ships, which include the dreaded variants of the Imperial Star Destroyers, the Imperial Navy is perhaps the most feared naval force in the known galaxy. The Navy's job is to protect Imperial civilians from pirates, smugglers, and the other galactic superpower, as well as any other armed government.

Using upgrades in technology and updated designs of old models, the Empire has fitted its navy with millions of powerful capital ships, frigates, starfighters and more, with craft like the TIE fighter and the Imperial Star Destroyer becoming famous galaxy wide. Like in the Imperial Army, the Imperial Navy has grown past Emperor Palpatine's old rule of not discriminating against non-Humans in the military and now openly accepts them.

Sith Caste

Star-Wars-Old-Republic-Trailer-Sith.jpg

The most privileged of the New Sith Imperium's military forces is the Sith Caste, sometimes simply referred to as Sith Generals in spite of their varied ranks, the representation of Sith Order's presence in military affairs. Standing above their non-Sith counterparts as opposed to being equals, the Sith Caste are the members of the Sith Order that act as elite warriors and special generals, especially in and during times of war. Unlike other divisions of the Imperial Military, the Sith Caste is authoritatively superior to the majority of standard military, with very few exceptions, due to their command of the Force to do their bidding.

With the Dark Side of the Force fueling them, the Sith Caste are spectacular leaders in times of strife, able to turn the tide in any battle, either through Force-granted perceptions and clairvoyance to direct Imperial troops or through the Dark side endowing them with extreme battle prowess. Also unlike most military leaders, the Sith Caste operate in stellar warfare equally effectively as they do planet-side, acting as exceptionally keen admirals and super-sentient aviators. Regardless of their methods, the Sith Caste is arguably the most feared aspect of the Imperial Military to any enemy to cross their paths, even and especially so to their age-old antitheses, the Jedi Knights.

Ranks and Command Structure

Within the New Sith Imperium Military, there stands many ranks and positions for which great responsibility and power stand. Even the lowest Private or Ensign has power. The most powerful position within the Imperium Military is that of the Empress. The Empress stands at the head of the entire Empire, ruling jointly with the Dark Lord, and the military is no exception to her iron rule. However, the Empress rarely concerns herself with directly leading the Military, rather leaving that to those she has picked for the position and the Dark Lord. Beside her stands the Dark Lord of the Sith, like the Empress, he does not directly interfere with the Military, but he has full control over it. However, he tends to not exercise his supreme authority very often, only intervening when he sees necessary. The Dark Lord, while seen as a dictator in the old days of the Empire, is more of a fair ruler in the New Sith Imperium. The Military is one of the areas that, while possessing control over it, he chooses to not interfere.

Below the Dark Lord stands the Sith Caste. Endowed with extraordinary abilities that allow them to cut through an entire army singlehandedly, demoralize the enemy as a whole, or even see into the future, the Sith Caste stands a rank above all others in terms of power. The paragon of the Sith Caste, the Warmaster stands a notch above all other Sith, often rising to his position through displays of his brutality, battle prowess, and extensive knowledge of military tactics. All Sith and all non-Sith below the rank of High General/High Admiral are under the Warmaster. The Warmaster leads the entire military jointly with the High General and High Admiral.

Below the Warmaster stands the Sith General, a powerful rank of Sith who have risen through the military like a soldier and trained alongside the men and women of the Imperium. He leads as both land General, Squad leader, and Admiral. An expert in all branches of the military, the Sith General is unsurpassed within the Sith Order themselves as a powerful Lord of Death. Beneath the Sith General is the Sith Major, a blanket term for all Sith who are currently engaged in joint training with the soldiers of the Imperium and are rising up within the military ranks. Unlike their name, most Sith Majors are in fact not Majors, but rather, are Privates, Sergeants, Captains, even Commanders; Sith, despite whatever rank they hold within the military, are referred to as Sith Majors on the battlefield.

Next stands the Commissioned Officers, the backbone of the Imperium Command structure. Heading the Military are the Grand Admiral and the Grand General, with the addition of the Warmaster and Dark lord, they make up the Council of the Military; it being one of the most powerful councils in existence. If there is no Grand Admiral, then the Grand General fills both ranks, and vice versa.

Generals and Admirals, to continue, are the highest attainable rank within the Military without becoming the head of it. They direct troop movements and command the entire military force on the battlefield. Similar to the Sith, Generals and Admirals are not only superior to all other soldiers in intelligence, but also in strength and training.

Commander is a rank reserved for Corps Commanders within the Stormtrooper Corps and men or women who are placed in charge of a militarily acquired world or lead a battalion of soldiers within a war. With the exception of the Stormtrooper Corps Commanders, usually Commanders stay on one world for the entirety of their military service, relying on wars to be the only time to bring them away from their rank to serve on the front line; that servitude being Commanding a battalion of soldiers.

Captain is often referred to as the 'hell rank' as Captains are expected more of than any other soldier within the military. They serve as leaders of a platoon of soldiers, multiple squads of soldiers, or a single squad of soldiers should it be necessary, they are expected to be able to lead an entire star destroyer, or perhaps a squadron of fighters into battle followed by the ability to direct a boarding party once they hit the enemy ship. Versatile and hard workers, Captains are revered as not only the hardest rank to hold, but the most honorable among the soldiers in battle.

Lieutenants are referred to as more of a support group than anything else. As a lieutenant, a soldier is expected only to assist a captain or lead a single squad of men into battle should the Sergeant fall. While often displays of authority('pulling rank') from a lieutenant are and can be ignored if a Sergeant gives a contradictory order, the lieutenant is an extremely important position for a reason. It is at this rank that soldiers who were not chosen for the Stormtrooper Corps training may enroll themselves into it and become a part of the white helmeted legend that is the STC.

Sergeant is the highest attainable rank within the non-commissioned Corps, the 'angels and demons' of military leadership as the younger soldiers prefer to say. Sergeants are charged with leading squads of soldiers into battle in almost every situation. Navy Sergeants command squadrons of TIE fighters in striking hard and fast against enemy contingents while minimizing losses in defense of Imperium ships. Army Sergeants focus on leading squads of soldiers through almost every terrain imaginable in the face of even unknown odds and sparse intel. The angels, they make sure their soldiers come home, the demons, they must make the orders that could end lives.

Corporal is the rank at which experienced privates and mercenaries both practice their leadership skills and hone their combat abilities for promotion within the Imperium. They usually accompany Sergeants and take their valiant leader's place should the worst happen in combat situations. While holding little authority, Corporal is a vital rank in the transition of leadership between Private and Sergeant.

Privates make up the backbone of the entire Imperium military. Most soldiers and acolytes find themselves starting here as a place to build themselves up and prove their worth to the Imperium. Every Private is required to go through rigorous training in order to prepare them for combat. As such, cowardance and acts of 'freezing' are highly uncommon among the Private of the Imperium. Often accompanying in high numbers, the sight of a group of Privates is almost always a telling sign of a large Imperium force.

Training Regimen and Administration

xb18.png

The Imperial training regimen for standard and non-specialized Imperial Sith Troopers, often referred to within the military as Non-Specs or NSIs for Non-Specialized Infantry. Loyalty, obedience, and readiness to die for their Empress were all traits indoctrinated into Imperial troops prior to formalized training, with their ideologies firmly in mind and cemented.

The most elite of the Sith Imperium are the Stormtrooper Corps, or STC. Very few NSI soldiers were capable of becoming Stormtroopers, and although many frequently volunteered for service, most Stormtroopers are sentients taken and trained without previous military backgrounds. As such, most Sith Troopers remained within the standard hierarchy. All trooper candidates underwent extensive examination to determine political, physical, educational, technical, and mental suitability; they also performed extensive background checks which included interviews of family, friends, and acquaintances to ensure political loyalty. The military vetting process was run by the Ubiqtorate and comprised mainly of interviews, interrogations, and examinations. The vetting process was given a high priority, and resulted in the low penetration of the organization by Alliance agents.

After admission into the Imperial Military, recruits are sent to undergo a vigorous training administration. While far less strenuous than the demands of the STC, the regimen encompasses the areas ranging from marksmanship and improvised combat, to melee and hand to hand sparring. While the latter had been considered substandard by some, through the benefit of the Mandalorian Death Watch mercenary Saren Te Adenn, the Sith Trooper training has benefited exponentially by incorporating the knowledge, techniques, tactics and skillsets of the Mandalorian and Death Watch combative maneuvers. Through the furthered spread of this routine, training in Mandalorian combat techniques have thus spread to virtually all of the Imperial Military, including that of the STC and Royal Guard.
