Rebel World
Bestine IV

EpiSfzn.png

The first planet to be liberated by the Rebellion in the Core, Bestine was a major shipyard and one of the last of the Core Worlds to fall to the Imperium. The watery world is home to massive shipyards planetside that make destroying them far harder than orbital installations, not unlike those on Manaan. Still most of the heavier machinery designed to make large capital ships has moved to worlds further away from the Sith, in order to ensure that they are not destroyed or lost to the Rebellion should the planet fall to a Sith counterattack. The repair industry however has been expanded even more, as Bestine is built up into a major base of operations for pushes further into the Core, and it's position on the hyperspace lanes gives the Rebellion the unique opportunity to cut off a portion of the Imperium in the region from the rest, while at the same time driving for worlds such as Corellia, Duros, and Kuat.

Some of the repair yards are already working around the clock to bring Rebel vessels back up to strength, relieving other shipyards of the duty and allowing them to focus on constructing new ships. The planet is likewise host to a great deal of Rebel sympathies with its historic association to Rebel movements of old, and it's attempts to counter the Sith's expansions independently in the recent past. Most of the planet is in surprisingly good shape thanks to the speed with which the Rebels were able to gain control, and the fact that the fighting was largely limited to space, and the planetside shipyard facilities which are difficult to destroy even in the best case scenarios. With the influx of Rebel ships, the defenses of Bestine are quite high with a large garrison that can make of the same kinds of underwater resources and tactics as on Manaan, and a large host of Rebel ships in the system.

Still, the Rebellion, has only recently come into position of Bestine and hasn't had the time to fortify it like other worlds. The destruction of the Ubiquorate ensures that work can be conducted without fear of sabotage, but the work on planetary defenses is not as high a priority as preparing for further offensives into Sith space which would render such defenses pointless.

Rebel World
Bothawui

UJ8hqI3.jpg

One of the first worlds to pledge itself to the Rebel cause in the aftermath of the Battle of Naboo, Bothawui's joining had an effect not unlike that of the Mon Calamari on the Rebellion of the Galactic Civil War. It sparked a firestorm of Rebel sentiment in the region, greatly expanding the territory under Rebel control, as well as giving the Rebels access to Bothan Space and resources. The famous Bothan Spynet, and the fleets that held back the Hutts during their war, are massive bolster to the ragtag band that had existed before. The shipyards of Bothawui, and worlds in Bothan Space like Kothlis, further add to the Rebel's ability to manufacture new ships, as well as repair existing ones, and the stock of weaponry made available is enough to outfit the Rebellion that existed beforehand a thousand times over. Manpower reserves are likewise much greater than they were previously as the Bothan military is incorporated into the Rebellion along with the defense forces of other powers, and individual Bothans volunteer to join the organization.

The reasons for the Bothan's recognition of the Rebellion were not entirely altruistic, or in service of spreading freedom to the Galaxy. Since the end of the war with the Hutts, Bothan Space has been generally blockaded, and shut out of the markets controlled by the Cartel. This includes a great many agricultural centers, and though not directly effected like Geonosis, Bothawui was still further hurt by the Sith blockade of the Corellian Run. Bothan politicians of the time did nothing to help, as they stressed a level of "self sufficiency" and only cut Bothan Space off further in a misguided attempt to end the regions dependence on the Galactic scale economy. The end result is a highly militarized, destitute, society suffering from the effects of being forced to concentrate too much on countering the Hutt menace, and ill thought out economic policies. The general hope by the current leadership of Bothan Space is that supporting the Rebellion will give them access to greater markets, and beneficial trade deals, as well as providing a larger counterbalance to the Cartel and allowing them to step down military production.

Still Bothawui is one of the most important planets in the Rebellion, perhaps second only to Naboo itself. Its recognition has solidified Rebel control of the region near the Arkanis Sector, and bolstered the Rebellion not just in physical assets, but in hearts and minds as well. If the Bothans, notorious for their guile, and often stereotyped as conniving spies, are willing to back the winners of Naboo against the greatest military power in the galaxy, why shouldn't other worlds? Bothawui itself is a heavily defended world, well fortified, and famous for its incredibly strong shield generator system, ensuring that should the Hutts come back around for another try, or should the Sith attempt to march on the world, it won't be falling to anything short of a bombardment that makes what happened to the Mandalore Sector look like a walk in the park.

Rebel World
Geonosis

DI9zUAj.jpg

A major Rebel supporter, even before the Battle of Naboo, the Rebellion's relationship with Geonosis has been a good for some time now. After the Sith blockade of the Corellian Run, the planet found itslef in dire straights, and in need Commander Myra Elysar reached a deal with Archduke T'tnok the Wealthy for the Rebellion to provide aid to the world. Since then the Rebellion has undertaken a number of activities both on, and off Geonosis in support of the planet, greatly improving the situation the planet found itself in, and arguably providing an example that would encourage Bothawui to support the Rebellion after the Batle of Naboo. Geonosis, not being huge fans of any Empire that had come near it, was the first independent world to openly pledge support for the Rebellion after the victory at Naboo. Now the factories that once produced battle droids by the millions for a cause that sought to subjugate Naboo instead pump out arms, ships, and other finished goods for a cause that has ensured its freedom.

Geonosis itself is well defended, primarily by the environment itself. The planet is subjected to strikes from asteroids, and other objects, and the native Geonosians thus primarily reside underground. The spires that stick up out where their cities and factories breach the surface blend in with the surroundings, and the planet is overall a difficult one to take and hold. Everything from the lack of food and water, to the numbers and zeal of the Geonosians themselves, and their exotic weaponry, work against any would be occupier. As the Republic found during the Clone Wars, even when you think the planet is pacified it still has a number of surprises ranging from facilities you didn't know about to parasites that can infect and turn your own troops against you. The planet is one of the safest in the galaxy for Rebel forces to gather, though it is not host to a large number of Rebel facilities, the Geonosians are generally willing to let them make use of their own should the need arise.

The planet is a major industrial hub, providing the manufacturing for many of the Rebel ships, and weapons coming into service. Though the Geonosians are more renowned for their sonic weaponry, their ability to produce a design from elsewhere is nothing to be laughed at. In spite of the vast differences between Geonosian technology and society to that of the galactic standard, the planet was still able to set up factories to produce Trade Federation designs with startling sped and efficiency, and several times entire armies raised on the planet in spite of it being cut off were able to nearly beat back Republic Forces.

Rebel World
Manaan

ueI5kbL.png

The first world to support the Rebellion, supplying most of the vessels used by the nascent organization under Terrsyn Pearot, Manaan has withstood Sith onslaught after Sith onslaught. After the Siege of Manaan it had not openly supported the Rebellion for fear of the Sith launching another invasion attempt, but continued to be a tacit supporter. After the Battle of Naboo however, the Sith turned their attention towards the planet once more, hoping to score an easy victory to ease political tensions after so many stunning defeats. This backfired immensely, as a Rebel force was able to relieve the local planetary defenses and secure a total victory. Now Manaan, and the wider Manaan Alliance, have thrown their support fully to the Rebellion. With a major industrial hub right next to the Sith border that has proved itself to be unconquerable, it is perhaps the greatest victory for the Rebellion in terms of providing strategic opportunities. Needless to say, Manaan might as well be another for getting a lot Sith killed.

The biggest benefit the planet provides is the underwater shipyards, on the ocean floor. These yards are wholly immune to an orbital bombardment, and are responsible for producing a great many designs in Rebel service. With Manaan as a member of the Rebellion access to the massive Star Defenders, corvettes, and freighters of their design are available in far greater number. Those already in Rebel service are likewise now able to be fully repaired by the experts who built the ships in the first place, bringing this last bit of the Rebel fleet up to full strength. Personnel recruited into the Rebellion are experts in using these vessels, as well as battling on water worlds, providing the Rebellion with the numbers needed to man them effectively as well. The next biggest benefit is the Kolto. Though not as effective as Bacta, it provides the Rebellion with much needed medical supplies, and ensures that the organization will not need to rely on the Cartel's stockpile to see them through the closing phases of the war.

Manaan is an extremely well defended world, having fended off two of the largest invasions of modern times. The major structures on the surface, such as Ahto City, are well protected by heavy walls and shield generators, while the watery nature of the planet itself provides a defense across the wider planet. It's very hard for orbital bombardments to penetrate the ocean's deep enough, with enough power, to do actual damage. Indeed even physicaly ordinance that isn't specially designed to handle the pressures has a hard time doing anything than creating a free fireworks show for the Selkath, Quarren, and Mon Calamari who call the planet home. In addition to the planetary defense force, a large Rebel force is present to safeguard the planet and allow it to be used as a staging area for Rebel offensives into the Core.

Rebel World
Naboo

vdWs5Be.jpg

Technical capital of the Rebellion, the battle at Naboo was the spark that gave the Rebellion a far larger status in the galaxy. The core of the Rebellion had fled to the world after a previous offensive had gone awry, pursued by the Sith who arrived with a massive fleet to stamp it out once and for all. It would be this fleet that was wiped out however, after reinforcements in the form of a massive Cartel Fleet arrived, dealing a decisive defeat to the Sith that would give the Rebellion the leg up it needed to become a galaxy wide affair. With so many worlds offering support, it was decided that Naboo should be the administrative center, given its distance from the Sith border, and the sterling reputation of the inhabitants for good governance. Naboo doesn't just produce paperwork however, they are also a key supplier for Rebel arms, ships, and recruitment efforts.

The planet itself is still recovering from the attack in many areas, with the city of Moenia/Char was practically wiped off the face of the planet, and Theed suffered extensive damage during the attack. Still thanks to the brave sacrifice of numerous Rebel soldiers, the Imperial offensives on the ground were largely contained, or driven back at their landing sites on the plains near Theed, leaving most of the planet intact. The underwater homes of the Gungans survived in extremely good shape, and even today could be used as refuges should the impossible happen again. The Gungan Grand Army, the Royal Security Force, and now Rebel troops all garrison the world, giving the peaceful planet an ironically large military presence.

Rebel World
Rodia

qCrDfZh.png

One of the worlds affected by the blockade on the Corellian Run that the Rebellion initially attempted to court, negotiations were stunted by an absence of the Rodian leadership, and since then the planet has remained mostly neutral. But historic relations with Naboo going back to days of Senators Padme Amidala and Onaconda Farr, and a rise in Rebel sentiment following the battle of Naboo (not to mention most of their major already being Rebel aligned) led the planet to pledge its support for the Rebellion and the New Republic. The resources of Rodia are major bolster to the Rebellion, as the planet is host to large amounts of heavy industry, gun manufacturers, and seasoned fighters. The planet is strategically paced near other major Rebel worlds, and bases, such as Ord Pardron, Roon, and Geonosis. As such it is home to a heavier presence of the Rebel Fleet, and a listening post established on Enak, an asteroid moon of Rodia.

Rebel World
Roon

IWG0lCt.jpg

Perhaps one of the worst places in the galaxy to try to defend, Roon has the unique status of being one of the few planets that can be completely blockaded by forces outside the system itself, and the first Imperial world to fall to the Rebellion and its allies under the banner of Operation Liberation Rainbow. The nature of the Cloak of the Sith means that navigating to Roon like another planet is nearly impossible. The only ways in are either through a hyperspace route connecting the planet to Manda, or another route that's much more difficult, connecting it to Ryloth. It was thanks to this unique fact of astrography that OLR was able to effectively cut the planet off, and proceed to drive the Imperium out, ending their control of the only major presence outside of the Imperium itself.

Those same features that make it poor for defense, make it brilliant for a secluded base however. Traffic in and out of the system is easily controlled, and monitored, making the planet useful for secret projects, meetings, and the storage of prisoners, or even sensitive data. The planet is also home to many of the surviving Mandalorians in the Rebellion, and host to presence by other Mandalorian factions that are aligned with the Rebels as well. The hyperspace lanes in and out also give the Rebellion access to the Hutt Cartel, and a way to funnel supplies to and from the criminal empire undetected. The level of cross support is mutually beneficial at the moment, but with more pressing concerns farther afield, the planet is only defended by a small force that might make it easy pickings for the Hutts in the distant future.

Rebel World
Sullust

GgjenJS.jpg

The most distant of the major worlds to pledge their support for the Rebellion after the Battle of Naboo, Sullust has always been a strong supporter of such movements going back to the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Sullust has long been a hotbed for Rebel activity, and several missions have been undertaken at various points to encourage further Rebel sentiment, as well as to take advantage of the industrial output of the planet. This Rebel sentiment, combined with generally poor treatment during the various Imperial regimes that have held Sullust in the past, were a major contributing factor to the planet's voicing of support for a New Republic. Eriadu and Sluis Van's support for the Rebellion may also have contributed given the generally expansionist nature of a group in the region of late, and wanting to stay off their target list or at least have friends to counter them.

But the reasons for Sullust's voice of support has as much to do with pathos and the political environment as it does with economics. SoroSuub, and the other major businesses of the planet, have always been in competition with those that dominate the Core, and this was true even in the days of the Galactic Alliance. Shipyards on Fondor, and Kuat were the ones that ended up getting the big military contracts, while SoroSuub had to compete with other giants of the industry such as CEC, and the growing Manaan Shipyards. A chance to take the Core manufacturers down a peg, and get lucrative deals involving the rebuilding of worlds such as Naboo was too good even for less civic and more business minded executives of SoroSuub to ignore.

Like Geonosis, Sullust itself is a tough nut to crack. Most of the population resides underground, with lava channels providing obstacles, and the atmosphere on the surface being toxic, and subject to electrical storms. The industrial capacity of Sullust is similarly immense, and the planet has a similar history in having been able to repel Republic assaults during the Clone Wars as well.
