The Remnant​

Hey there everyone! First off, I should start out by clarifying that I don't necessarily intend for this to be a faction right off the bat, but more of an extremely unorganised group that bands together to oppose the Sith control of former Republic Worlds. I think there are great stories to be had about a rebel cell in its infancy and I think the high stakes nature of having to risk it all to accomplish anything will be exciting and potentially very rewarding. I will also mention that I am aware there is already a Rebel type faction that has been approved. I am definitely not trying to compete with them or make a statement by starting a separate group. There is plenty of room for several groups and I think the interaction between these groups could be very interesting to see.

So what am I looking for? Right now, I am just looking for a small group of people who oppose the Sith and have an interest in fighting for the freedom of Republic worlds. I plan on participating with my Former Senator, Aldrus Verum but am looking for characters from all backgrounds.

I fully intend for this to be very cooperative in choosing the direction and future of the group but have several missions/stories in mind to get us started. Beyond that, we are just rolling with the story and we can see where it takes us. If/when there is interest I will flesh the idea out into a better format.

It would definitely help the cause if the Grand Moff joins. I'll mark you down as a maybe : p

while this is a similar premise to Galaf, I think I clear up the differences between galaf and the Remnant but I'll tag @Outlander to be sure.

First, Galaf's only real goal of is to destroy the Sith, it has no political ambition to reform the republic as a whole (though individuals in it might want to do so) at the moment but that might change in the future.

Second, much like Saw Gerrera's partisans Galaf is far more extreme, willing to do more extreme action than most rebels.

those are (I think) the most important aspects to Galaf and by the sounds of it you're going the more traditional rebel rout so like you said there is plenty enough room for more rebels.

Why not a splinter faction/subfaction inside the GALAF?

I really enjoy this idea, and if I hadn't had all three character slots filled, I'd be joining in an instant.

Personally, GALAF is also a nice concept, but I understand it's a more "radical, insurgent organization bent on disrupting Imperial operations." @christhebarker pretty much hit it on the nail. Like Rogue One, there's Saw's insurgency, and then there's the Rebel Alliance.

Anyway, when one of my character's drop dead, hmu if this is still an idea you have in mind.

P.S. totally would recommend a new name tho. my picky butt keeps thinking of Mass Effect whenever I read it.

Good Question! First off, @christhebarker hit the nail on the head. The group's ultimate goal (Unless it changes directions) would be the reformation of the Republic. With that comes opposition to not only the Sith, but also with Mandalorian Control of many Republic Worlds. Obviously that is too large scale for a small group so initial focus would be directed towards Core Worlds.

"The Galactic Freedom Movement, known commonly as Galaf, is a largely radicalized insurgent organization based on the remnants of the Accord, Republic, and various displaced individuals that began some time in the last five years following the occupation of said factions. The group seems completely focused on disrupting Imperial operations in the Outer Rim, specifically in the sectors surrounding their former base near Christophsis. While it is impossible to determine the exact number of attacks perpetrated by them, it has become clear that this group needs to be dealt with to ensure security in the sectors production of war materials."

This is a quote from the faction write-up of GALAF. It states pretty clearly that the group is focused on disrupting the Sith in the Outer Rim. So as was stated earlier, the aspirations for this group would be more Republic focused.

I didn't put a ton of thought into a name because I am not sure this even becomes a faction and just stays a small band of rebels attacking targets in the Core Worlds. With that being said, there are only so many "rebellion" type names and all of those would point to something else. Anyways, thanks for the advice and the kind words. Time to go put IC bounties on all of your characters so I may take you as my own. : P
